The house, situated in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown West Jefferson, is at the top of a ridge, approximately 3900 feet in elevation. Long Description West Jefferson, NC - A short-5 minute drive will take you to downtown restaurants, breweries, galleries, the Cheese Factory, antique malls, Jefferson State Park, and Frosty’s Choose and Cut. This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small family or a girlfriends’ weekend. The cabin is 28 miles to Tweetsie Railroad, 25 miles to Appalachian State University, and 34 miles to the Grayson Highlands (please note all distances are approximate and travel times will vary). For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn. The spacious master on main has a queen bed with a Temper-Pedic medium-firm mattress and high-end linens. The bathroom across the hall has a step-in shower, double sinks, and a *whirlpool soaking tub. On the main floor there is a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed for the chef in the family to cook meals. Coffee lovers will appreciate having a drip coffee maker, a French press, or a Keurig to choose from. The kitchen opens up to the dining space and living room. There is also a propane gas grill on the deck for additional cooking options. The living room has a beautiful view of the mountains and a gas fireplace for heat and ambiance during the cold months. There is a flat screen TV in this room with basic cable and a ROKU stick for you to access your streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available to keep the kids occupied if there is a rainy, stay-in-place kind of day. WiFi speed is at 100mbps for those that need to work or just wish to stream movies. The main deck, outfitted with plenty of rocking chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night while watching the sunrise or sunset. You may have sightings of deer or wild turkeys and quail. Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, as well as a shared bathroom. One room has a queen bed and the most beautiful view of the valley below and the mountain range beyond it. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for children. The lower level includes a media room with a large flat-screen tv and surround sound. This TV also has a ROKU stick, but the cabin is stocked with many DVDs from which to choose as well. The 2nd side of the basement has been recently finished out to include more heated square footage and seating space. It has a foosball table and a half bath. If you need to do laundry while staying, there is a washer and dryer located on this floor as well. The cabin is decorated with artwork by local artists, and seasonal décor changes throughout the year. You will find it stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, and coffee pods. An Ingles grocery store is located only five minutes away for groceries. Conveniently located near Shatley Springs Restaurant, River House, Helton Creek, Virginia & North Carolina State Parks. Long Description "Unforgettable" Grassy Creek, NC - Be prepared for a totally UNFORGETTABLE experience!! Set on 40+ acres among the rolling hills of Eastern Ashe County and close to Southwest Virginia, you will find this wonderfully handcrafted Buckminster Fuller design Geodesic 3/4 Dome. With over 300 square feet of windows, the home itself makes you feel like part of the surroundings. Solid cherry paneling, wormy chestnut cabinets, and wooden floors are just the beginning. An inside stairway leads to an enclosed observatory at the top of the dome; a perfectly romantic spot to view the stars above the canopy of trees. A deck surrounds half of the exterior of the dome and offers a nice sitting area for relaxing. Just out the kitchen door, a stone pathway leads to the patio, where swing, picnic table, and hot tub await!! Be sure to take some time to stroll around the property. Unforgettable is a tree-growing plantation as well as a working Frasier Fir Christmas tree farm and wildlife preserve, so numerous trails meander through the wooded and open areas. From the highest peaks, you might even catch a glimpse of Grandfather Mountain if it's a clear day. If not, the panoramic views are well worth the walk, and you're sure to enjoy just sitting by the scenic pond area with a cup of coffee or a good book. We always enjoy staying here! It’s our go-to place on Beech Mountain. Super-comfortable beds. We love sitting on the balcony and watching the deer while we have coffee in the morning. Michelle is a gracious host and an excellent communicator. Thanks again for another great stay!

This was a lovely place to stay: beautiful and scenic location, not too far from a number of good hikes, clean, and the space itself had a nice aesthetic and was very thoughtfully laid out to make use of the space. The king bed was comfortable and there was great natural light and a cozy vibe when it rained. DJ was very responsive when we had an issue and resolved it quickly.

Jim’s place was the perfect place to stay for a ski weekend at Beech Mountain. The condo was super cozy and comfortable for our family of 3. We also loved being so close to the pool area. Jim was super responsive when we checked in and had some last minute questions. We loved our stay!

Amanda’s hidden gem was an amazing spot for me and my boyfriend to escape reality from! Check-in was very easy, and her space was very easy to find. Her space looks just like the pictures and we felt right at home. Amanda was also kind enough to supply some light snacks and coffee cups for the place which we were very grateful for! It was very clean, and we felt very safe and right at home. We were also able to have access to the country club, which we went for the hot tub which was so nice! The view from the balcony was amazing!! Overall, we loved our stay with Amanda and we will be back for a ski trip!! :)

Cozy Condo in the Clouds

Great escape for my hubby and I for a one night getaway. Host was proactive in communicating as I booked same day, response was quick and thoroug, directions plus details for check-in. Space was easy to access, quiet, with a beautiful view, large windows, nice furniture. TV, with multiple streaming options, fireplace was great for ambiance. Shower had good water pressure! Bed was very comfy and laying in it you will feel like you are in the clouds with your view of the mountains. We did use the clubhouse facilities, sauna, pool and hot tub all very clean and quiet with very few guests, only us and another family of 3 when we were just heading back to the room. *My only suggestions would be to upgrade bathroom amenities with nice bottles of shampoo and conditioner, body wash. This is something I really appreciate when traveling and adds to the sensory experience when remembering the trip. Overall great experience for our quiet escape for two. Thanks Valentina!

Great stay - the unit was thoughtfully equipped and very clean. Everything we needed for a summer visit was right at hand, and Trisha was consistently responsive to questions. I particularly appreciated the super-clear instructions for accessing the complex and the unit, and it was nice to have restaurants and amenities within walking distance. I’d be happy to stay here again.

The cabin was everything we needed this weekend! The screen porch was a perfect place to wind down in the evening. The kids were excited to pick from the DVD collection and game shelf. The community center was perfect for fishing and paddle boats with the kids. We also were close enough to the creeks to splash around in the mornings like I did growing up. We will be back!

We booked this house last minute, on the drive up, after our previous booking was damaged in a storm. Check in was easy and the place was ready to go. The house itself was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the workout area, hot tub and tons of games as well as a 3 minute drive to the ski resort. It was everything we were looking for.

Inside, it felt like home from the moment I walked in. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together with everything I needed. You can tell the host really cares about creating a welcoming space. That’s why we’ve rented this place in the past as well.

The condo was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The decorations and overall feel of the place is great. The pool was nice to go down and enjoy as well. The view is incredible and we spent a good bit of time out on the balcony, just enjoying the beauty and serenity. We have zero complaints and nothing but praise for the condo and hosts. We definitely plan to return! Don't be deterred by the need to use the shuttle to travel back and forth to your car. The drivers were great and the wait for them was just a couple minutes. The entire complex seems laid back, friendly, and very well maintained. Food, groceries, or entertainment is all within a few minutes drive. While our friends were sweating in Bristol at 87 degrees, we were a cool 72 up on the mountain. It is a great place to cool off and recharge in the Summer.
