Absolute High features beautiful mountain views and all the comforts of home, in a very convenient location. The house, situated in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown West Jefferson, is at the top of a ridge, approximately 3900 feet in elevation. Long Description West Jefferson, NC - A short-5 minute drive will take you to downtown restaurants, breweries, galleries, the Cheese Factory, antique malls, Jefferson State Park, and Frosty’s Choose and Cut. This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small family or a girlfriends’ weekend. The cabin is 28 miles to Tweetsie Railroad, 25 miles to Appalachian State University, and 34 miles to the Grayson Highlands (please note all distances are approximate and travel times will vary). For some winter fun, head to one of our three most popular ski resorts: Appalachian Ski Mtn, Sugar Mtn, or Beech Mtn. The spacious master on main has a queen bed with a Temper-Pedic medium-firm mattress and high-end linens. The bathroom across the hall has a step-in shower, double sinks, and a *whirlpool soaking tub. On the main floor there is a kitchen fully stocked with everything needed for the chef in the family to cook meals. Coffee lovers will appreciate having a drip coffee maker, a French press, or a Keurig to choose from. The kitchen opens up to the dining space and living room. There is also a propane gas grill on the deck for additional cooking options. The living room has a beautiful view of the mountains and a gas fireplace for heat and ambiance during the cold months. There is a flat screen TV in this room with basic cable and a ROKU stick for you to access your streaming accounts. Board games, puzzles, and books are available to keep the kids occupied if there is a rainy, stay-in-place kind of day. WiFi speed is at 100mbps for those that need to work or just wish to stream movies. The main deck, outfitted with plenty of rocking chairs, is the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night while watching the sunrise or sunset. You may have sightings of deer or wild turkeys and quail. Two additional bedrooms are upstairs, as well as a shared bathroom. One room has a queen bed and the most beautiful view of the valley below and the mountain range beyond it. The second bedroom has two twin beds, perfect for children. The lower level includes a media room with a large flat-screen tv and surround sound. This TV also has a ROKU stick, but the cabin is stocked with many DVDs from which to choose as well. The 2nd side of the basement has been recently finished out to include more heated square footage and seating space. It has a foosball table and a half bath. If you need to do laundry while staying, there is a washer and dryer located on this floor as well. The cabin is decorated with artwork by local artists, and seasonal décor changes throughout the year. You will find it stocked with a starter supply of toilet paper, detergents, toiletries, and coffee pods. An Ingles grocery store is located only five minutes away for groceries. Inside this upscale modern farmhouse, you will find a relaxing atmosphere in every room. The spacious kitchen features stainless appliances and solid surface countertops. A cozy breakfast nook is located off the kitchen. It offers a coffee bar complete with Keurig coffeemaker and gas log fireplace for warming up by on a cool Carolina Mountain morning. There’s also a Smart TV for those that like to catch up on the news or stream a favorite show. Enjoy your freshly prepared meal and a glass of wine in the dining room with seating for 6. Featuring walnut wainscotting and French doors that lead outside to an inviting deck, this dining room is elegant and warm at the same time. Just off the dining room is the living room complete with a cozy gas fireplace, comfy seating for at least eight and a wall mounted Smart TV. The front door leads to a rocking chair front porch when you can enjoy a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the views. We always enjoy staying here! It’s our go-to place on Beech Mountain. Super-comfortable beds. We love sitting on the balcony and watching the deer while we have coffee in the morning. Michelle is a gracious host and an excellent communicator. Thanks again for another great stay!

This was a lovely place to stay: beautiful and scenic location, not too far from a number of good hikes, clean, and the space itself had a nice aesthetic and was very thoughtfully laid out to make use of the space. The king bed was comfortable and there was great natural light and a cozy vibe when it rained. DJ was very responsive when we had an issue and resolved it quickly.

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy apartment in Sugar Mountain! The space was spotless, private, and had such a warm, welcoming feel. One of the highlights was definitely the amazing view of the mountains — absolutely breathtaking. I also really enjoyed the community pool and hot tub, which was a nice bonus and made the stay even more relaxing. Everything was just as described, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!

Amanda’s hidden gem was an amazing spot for me and my boyfriend to escape reality from! Check-in was very easy, and her space was very easy to find. Her space looks just like the pictures and we felt right at home. Amanda was also kind enough to supply some light snacks and coffee cups for the place which we were very grateful for! It was very clean, and we felt very safe and right at home. We were also able to have access to the country club, which we went for the hot tub which was so nice! The view from the balcony was amazing!! Overall, we loved our stay with Amanda and we will be back for a ski trip!! :)

Great escape for my hubby and I for a one night getaway. Host was proactive in communicating as I booked same day, response was quick and thoroug, directions plus details for check-in. Space was easy to access, quiet, with a beautiful view, large windows, nice furniture. TV, with multiple streaming options, fireplace was great for ambiance. Shower had good water pressure! Bed was very comfy and laying in it you will feel like you are in the clouds with your view of the mountains. We did use the clubhouse facilities, sauna, pool and hot tub all very clean and quiet with very few guests, only us and another family of 3 when we were just heading back to the room. *My only suggestions would be to upgrade bathroom amenities with nice bottles of shampoo and conditioner, body wash. This is something I really appreciate when traveling and adds to the sensory experience when remembering the trip. Overall great experience for our quiet escape for two. Thanks Valentina!

Cozy and well-furnished studio condo with great westerly view overlooking Sugar Mtn and Oma's meadow in particular - our trip was June timeframe and very peaceful with great vistas. Birds and green trees provide substantial outdoor/natural setting. Condo was as advertised, check-in easy, and owner communicative. While unit is on the 3rd floor, there is a catwalk to parking lot that provides good accessibility with only a few steps up (lower-level units require going downstairs from parking lot). Great location to enjoy Sugar Mtn from the top of the mountain!

Marinda's condo was a nice and comfortable place to stay. It looks just like the photos, and it was clean. The view is amazing, and the mountain air was lovely. We were able to keep the windows open all the time. We loved spending time on the deck, and with the passing thunderstorms, the view constantly changed with the light and cloud formations. It was easy to park and ride the shuttle to the building, and we actually only had to do that one day because the rest of the time there was plenty of space in the parking lot right by the door. We didn't use the pool or laundry facilities, so I can't comment on that, but everything looked nice. Really the best part was the view!

We really loved our stay! The house was clean and beautifully decorated. Great views of Hawksnest snow tubing (which was a fun activity). The house had everything we needed — comfortable beds, plenty of blankets, fireplace and fire pit, a stocked coffee bar, and plenty of parking. The kids loved the bunk room and game room. The balcony has a lot of comfortable seating as well. The hosts were incredibly gracious and kind, as well as available if we needed them. Thanks for the wonderful stay!!

We booked this house last minute, on the drive up, after our previous booking was damaged in a storm. Check in was easy and the place was ready to go. The house itself was a lot of fun. We enjoyed the workout area, hot tub and tons of games as well as a 3 minute drive to the ski resort. It was everything we were looking for.

The condo was extremely clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The decorations and overall feel of the place is great. The pool was nice to go down and enjoy as well. The view is incredible and we spent a good bit of time out on the balcony, just enjoying the beauty and serenity. We have zero complaints and nothing but praise for the condo and hosts. We definitely plan to return! Don't be deterred by the need to use the shuttle to travel back and forth to your car. The drivers were great and the wait for them was just a couple minutes. The entire complex seems laid back, friendly, and very well maintained. Food, groceries, or entertainment is all within a few minutes drive. While our friends were sweating in Bristol at 87 degrees, we were a cool 72 up on the mountain. It is a great place to cool off and recharge in the Summer.
