Tower of Glenstrae - Loch Awe

LedaRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Gorgeous and peaceful setting, lovely hosts, really we had the perfect stay! Convenient for day trips to the islands, Fort William, Oban, and other beautiful spots when you want to come back to a cozy retreat. Traveled with 2 teenagers who also fell in love with the Tower, plus walks to Kilchurn Castle, St Conan’s Kirk, and especially the Kirk’s tearoom where new owner Christine does a fantastic lunch and tea with scones. Six stars all around!

The historic Cats Castle, built in 1888, showcases a stone façade with ivy climbing its exterior. A round turret stands prominently, while a striking red door provides a vibrant contrast. The surrounding grounds feature well-kept lawns and a view of the trees against the evening sky.

Cats Castle

SybilRating, 5 stars5 days ago
We stayed here a few years ago but loved it so much we returned. Happy to report it was still a great place to say. So much space that a group of 12 (6 kids) could disappear into their own spaces or gather together for meals and games. East access to city or countryside. The castle is very well equipped and beds are comfortable. Hope this was not our last visit.

Glengorm Castle: West Wing

RosaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
One of our most memorable stays. The west wing of Glengorm is extremely well appointed, with lovely rooms, great kitchen, home-like atmosphere and stunning views. The walls to the sea were breathtaking and invigorating. The sheep were so picturesque, the surprise of the standing stones and seaside cliffs made us so thankful that we booked this spot on Mull. The cafe was a treat, with great Scotts breakfast and cakes! The Aga stove was a treat to cook with. All our guests were overjoyed as were we! We will return!

The Tower Rooms

LisaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We loved staying at Glengorm Castle! In fact, we wish we had planned our trip differently & stayed on Mull & at Glengorm for more than one night. It is a beautiful, spacious flat, with access to one of the turrets of the castle. We are a family of 3 adults, so we enjoyed having the freedom to spread out as the flat has multiple levels. That's quite a boost on a vacation, when most of the time you have a small space to live in at hotels. The bathroom had a separate toilet, & the bathroom had a large shower & tub, so it was convenient to get ready in the morning. The bedrooms were spacious & having a washer AND a dryer is convenient, since we found in the UK that accommodations can have a washer, but not always have a dryer. The hosts communicated quickly & made us feel right at home. We walked down to the pastures & enjoyed the Highland cows & sheep up-close! This windswept, beautiful castle was my favorite lodging night on holiday! BTW, the castle cafe serves delicious, fast food!
