Family-friendly vacation rentals in Amador County

We’ve stayed at a more expensive house last year but more expensive is not always better! We’ve had a lovely, relaxing, and cozy stay at this place. The house featured everything that you could possibly need besides clothes and food, lots of spices and utensils provided, as well as the snack storage had great coffee. The hot tub is comfortable and powerful. Walked around the neighborhood and to the two nearest reservoirs.

This is such a sweet cabin stocked with everything you would need to enjoy your time in the mountains. We had a great time and Kayla is an excellent host. The view is beautiful!

Easy access to BLS amenities, quiet court location with some great walking just in the neighborhood. We really appreciate the dog friendly homes. Our fur babies absolutely loved it too!

Enjoyed the rustic/ retro mix of this home. Vincent and Karen are so easy to talk to and accommodated a late check out.,Pricing was reasonable. Family enjoyed playing games provided as well as taking a stroll around the pond about 100 yards from the back patio. Jacuzzi needed a good shock treatment prior to usage but overall it was a wonderful stay and we appreciated the space.

I dont know where to start. The house the view, EVERYTHING was AMAZING!.This was an amazing place and Monique was so amazing as well. I had some last minute changes and she responded in a timeley manner and accommodated this unexpected change. It was 18 of us and we fit perfectly! Monique gave so much information on whats around, things to do and where to go eat. She took some stress off of this trip. Not to mention her binders that she has in the living room filled with information on how things work and check out instructions list as well was extremely helpful! The kids basically lived on the bottom floor where the arcade games, pool table, ping pong table and jacuzzi are located. They had so much fun down there! Its a quiet neighborhood but everyone around is so nice. The firepit was perfect for the kids and adults. Once 10pm hit, we all headed back inside and watched netflix and played UNO. This was by far the best airbnb we have stayed at. The only negative thing I have to say

This cabin was everything we could have hoped for! Huge hot tub on a wraparound deck that had a fence so our dog could be outside but not free on the property. Wood burning furnace inside was a favorite feature for my husband and I. Our dog loved laying in front of the fire. 10/10 would recommend 🙂

What was great: The bedroom configuration worked great for our family of 5, with room to spare. Beautiful setting amongst the trees, with sunrise views through the main window. Well stocked kitchen. Close to Bear Valley Ski Resort. Using the fireplace every day. What could have been better: Hot Tub water was musky/murky. Check in and check out procedure required driving an extra 20 mins on both ends (pick up and drop off are at Bear Valley resort). Lots of automated communications, much of which was duplicative and included text that reads "Click Here," but is not an actual URL/Link. Having to pack out all trash. Slow internet Despite some opportunities for improvement, especially at this price point, we had a lovely time and found communications with staff -- once we were there -- easy and responsive. Getting to the ski resort was easy and the place worked well for us. We would stay again!

This was a perfect winter getaway for our family to go, the cousins enjoyed the game room (and keyboard) downstairs and the adults loved playing cards by the fire with the downstairs door closed (keyboard noise stayed downstairs 😆). The hot tub looking over the forest was lovely. Comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, responsive and helpful hosts. We can’t wait to be back and experience the location in the summer!

The workshop was absolutely charming and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Gail's personalized welcome signs made my pup and I feel instantly at home. The craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the space were truly impressive, and the cozy ambience made it even better than the photos. Gail was incredibly attentive and communicative throughout our stay which is always greatly appreciated. Will be coming here again when we're in the area :). I highly recommend the workshop to anyone looking for a cozy retreat.

One of the best Airbnb stays we have had with our extended family of 8. Great location for nearby skiing and hiking. Good restaurant and other tourist attractions nearby. The home itself is large but still warm and cozy. We loved the wood stoves! Most notable was the fact that it was very well supplied with an especially well-stocked kitchen. We were given a nice bottle of wine and basket of snacks on arrival and found Tylenol and bandaids for post-ski blisters. She definitely thought of everything. I communicated with Mary about a couple of minor questions and she got back to me immediately. We highly recommend Mary’s place!

The Hummingbird Hangout cabin felt like "Home Away from Home". Large enough, clean, neat, cozy and well equipped. Beautiful cabin & the peaceful surrounding area. Great location! We truly enjoyed our stay. Mark was quick to respond & kept us updated w/anything. We look forwards to returning again. Thank you Mark for opening your home to us and for a memorable family get getaway!

Bob and Polly’s home was truly one of the best places i’ve stayed at. It was comfortable, cozy and very peaceful. They had everything that you would need for your visit. Very close to the big trees park. There are a bunch of restaurants close by and a grocery store as well. I would highly recommend this home!

I can’t say enough great things about Fred & Patricia’s home! My family and I were fortunate enough to be able to call Fred & Patrica’s place home for 30 days. It was amazing to be able to wake up with the amazing scenery and just a short drive or walk you can find a market and pizza! Everyone in the area was friendly. We absolutely loved it and hope to be able to visit again in the future!

We had a great time! The cabin was quaint and cozy with everything we needed. Location feels private yet is walking distance to a great little cafe at the end of the road. A fenced yard off the back deck was a major plus for us since we were traveling with dogs. Location is beautiful and walking distance to nice hiking. Overall this felt like a great hidden gem that we would love to return to!

Staying at Elliot’s home was the perfect reprieve for my family! It was clean, peaceful and beautiful! I highly recommend staying at this home!

We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful and secluded retreat. The house is situated in such a serene spot, and the river access was a highlight. It offered a perfect way to cool off in the summer heat—our dog loved swimming, and the gentle shoreline made it safe and fun for our little one to splash and play. The home itself was impressively clean, thoughtfully furnished, and incredibly comfortable. We slept better than we have in weeks—the bed was excellent, and made for the most restful sleep. The house had everything we needed, and we especially enjoyed starting our mornings with breakfast on the patio and winding down with a glass of wine in the evening. This stay checked all our boxes and we’re already planning to return. Overall, we loved our time here and are so grateful for the experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a true getaway in nature without sacrificing comfort.

It was a perfect get away and we loved the horses and goats

The cabin was great for me, my 2 kids, and our dog. We loved the big family room for gathering, and the fireplace was cozy on the cold nights. Everything was clean, and the kitchen was very functional.

We had a great stay at Connie’s cabin. Our trip was two couples, each with a toddler. The space was very well set up to allow us to put each kid down and still have board game nights after they were asleep. The cabin had a very lived in and homey vibe - which is what we were looking for! You could definitely tell the family has gotten lots of great use out of the house over the years!

The geodome is a unique stay. The cabin was comfortable and and well-styled. An added bonus is that there's plastic kid-friendly bowls, plates, and cups so we didn't need to worry about our young ones breaking anything. The open layout was ideal for our family to socialize while cooking and there's a cute play area upstairs with toys for the kids. The neighborhood was quiet and we were able to soak in the stars a night next to the fire pit. Maria was super responsive to all of my messages (responded in a few minutes), which was helpful when I couldn't turn on the washer/dryer since the breaker had tripped. Maria helped me locate the electric panel to flip the breaker and there wasn't any further nuisance tripping. We enjoyed staying at Maria and Jared's geodome and would come back again!

The house is in a great location - you can walk to the Rec Center which made our lives pretty easy. You can hear cars throughout the day (the house is close to a busy road), but they were out in the distance and it didn't bother us a bit. The house was organized - we had plenty of room for two families. Patsy provided linens, towels, soap and shampoo and more. The pantry was well stocked with basic staples. We were there when it was HOT (over 100 degrees in some days) - the room air-conditioning in the main living space was enough to keep us cool. Patsy also had a system for working out the fans in the bedrooms that worked out well for us. I also appreciate that Patsy and Roger are great communicators - we had all the info we needed before we arrived. Whenever we had a question, they were prompt in replying. I'd definitely stay over in this special place in Arnold.

Great cabin to stay at. Plenty of room and clean. The theater room is awesome! Great sound system and comfortable recliners. The pool table with the ping pong topper was a lot of fun. There are other cabins near bye, but plenty of space between them. Would definitely stay at the sweet retreat again!

One-of-a-kind home (two of a kind, I guess, if you count the CO version) made an unforgettable experience for our family (5 adults, 3 kids and 2 pups)!! Thoughtful consideration seeped in every nook and cranny! 1) brilliant open layout strikes perfect balance between having a corner/plenty of room for everyone, yet still with a lovely sense of togetherness; 2) exceptionally well-equipped and spacious kitchen; 3) play closet with enough toys and board games to keep our 2yo toddler and pre-teen girls equally entertained; 4) winter gear to borrow -- sleds, snowshoes, etc. -- kids spent hours playing in the hill across the street (within sight from the cabin). In terms of virtually every amenity -- from quality kitchenware, comfy beds, toiletries, extra blankets, towels, spare friggin' batteries -- the Chesa Madrisa was a couple notches above what one should be able to reasonably expect from a vacation rental! Hillary was an absolute joy to communicate -- we can't wait to be back!
