Walk out of the door and into the heart of Whitby with all its historic sights, quirky charm and vintage shops. There’s no better location! As with 95% of Whitby’s historic cottages, you cant park onsite but we offer free parking nearby. There are plenty of pay car parks & non restricted zones 5-10 mins away. Parking is offered on a first come first served basis on our private car park. free scratch cards for on street parking are also included. Situated on the 1st floor, accessed by lift or stairs.

This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Browse in the eclectic independent shops and sample the finest seafood in the local eateries. Walk up to the abbey, stroll along the piers and collect fossils from the beach, take a ride on the steam train to the neighbouring villages and explore the moors. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking.

Sandside Retreat is situated in the heart of Whitby’s Old Town, at the foot of the iconic 199 steps leading to the Abbey. ; whilst tucked away for peace and quiet. Just a stone’s throw away from Tate Hill Sands, harbour, shops, restaurants and bars. Sleeping up to 3 guests, it features a cosy living room with separate kitchen/diner. There is a private patio which overlooks the sea towards the East Pier. Unlike many cottages to the East Side, there are no steps leading up to the cottage.
