House vacation rentals in Wealden District

This is the second time we have stayed at Corrina’s holiday home and once again we found it to be squeaky clean, very well equipped, peaceful and a great location. The garden is home to a family of foxes, who were so confident, that they sunbathed on the lawn whilst we were sitting on the veranda. Corrina made us aware of check in details in very good time and left a number just in case we needed assistance, which I’m happy to say we didn’t need. The surrounding area is so lush and green, this time of year, and there is always plenty of interesting things to do nearby. We will visit again next year, but hopefully for longer this time. Thank you.

We had a great long weekend stay here to celebrate a special birthday. The weather was good so the grandchildren made full use of the pool, huge garden and tennis court - as did some of the adults. House was very clean and well equipped. Very peaceful and secluded setting - everyone said they would love to come back again.

We enjoyed a 3 day mini break at the Calf Shed cottage with our 2 children and dog. The cottage itself was nice with open plan kitchen and comfy seating area, and a private garden area which was great for the kids and dog. A big bonus was the heated pool with stunning views. The weather was not great but the heated pool meant we could still use it, which is a short walk from the cottage. The kids also enjoyed the trampoline and table tennis. The main barn was not rented during our stay which meant we had sole use of the pool and play equipment. There was no welcome pack/booklet however the host Alison was quick to respond to questions (wifi password, bin locations, etc). Other comments is the double bed was actually 2 single beds which the kids commandeered and signs of wear and tear here and there. However overall a pleasant trip.

Absolutely lovely place to spend a night - from feeding the fish to a quick round of pool, and of course the brilliant facilities on the patio, which couldn't be simpler to use thanks to the helpful instructions. Everything is set up to provide optimum convenience and a warm welcome (like the plentiful fire/BBQ supplies and the eggs and marmalade from Jane's hens, which were both fantastic, so kind!) Jane herself is a wonderful host, and my partner and I highly recommend this listing. Thank you!

The barn was beautiful, we had such a lovely stay. The decor was stunning and there was lots of special touches that made our stay more comfortable. Michelle was very good at communicating with us and the main owner of the barn met us on out first day and gave us lots of useful information regarding the barn the sites and walks around the area. We would definitely love to come back in the future.

A really unique place in lovely grounds. As a family with young children the facilities made the stay for us. The Wing itself is nice full of character in terms of the architecture and decor. The place was clean, comfortable beds, kitchen had the essentials. Only thing I’d say is the bathroom and kitchen could do with a simple modernisation but really nothing to worry about, everything worked fine. The family say they would return so that’s the ultimate verdict.

This is an accurately described, beautiful home in idyllic countryside. The house is spacious and very stylishly furnished with vintage furniture and artwork. Ideally there would be one or two more bathrooms with showers - we knew this before staying of course - it just means more planning of showering with a larger group of people staying. We especially loved relaxing in the garden room with the gorgeous views of the garden and rolling hills beyond. We were incredibly lucky with the weather so definitely made the most of having a pool and pizza oven and BBQ. And we picked fresh figs off the tree by the pool, delicious! The kids loved the trampoline and table tennis. Enzo was great and prompt at communicating with us. We appreciated the local recommendations - we enjoyed lunch at the Jolly Sportsman, coffee at Cafe du Jardin and a mooch around all the antiques shops in Lewes. A very comfortable house to enjoy with three generations of our family.

We had an extremely pleasant time during our stay. While booking I didn’t realize that there was no cooking range at the accomodation . We wanted some eggs for breakfast, Miles was extremely helpful. He made some mouth watering scrambled eggs for us. Thank you Miles for that.. really appreciate it . The surrounding place is extremely peaceful and scenic. A wonderful happy place to stay! And Daphne made us feel very welcome. She provided a plethora of treats, from eggs to bread, to fruit to chocolate biscuits. She was a generous & charming host. I would recommend The Oast unreservedly.

Great location in quiet lane just off main road. Very peaceful setting either lovely views. Own patio area nice to sit in the sun and sun room also lovely. Accommodation had everything we needed and Maggs & Hanes were very accommodating and flexible and friendly. Particularly haloed ensure my elderly mom’s needs were met. Accommodation very well equipped for elderly person to easily get about. Very spacious and sofa bed comfortable too. Couldn’t ask for better. Great location too for visiting all the beautiful surrounding sites of interest.

Sara has decorated and furnished this very spacious cottage with that very pleasant English feel. The double kitchen is spacious. The cosy lounge with its wood burning stove makes this place romantic and the bed is very comfortable. Beautiful place close to amenities and quite easy to find with the instructions received. I could not recommend this place and its host Sara enough.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Clare’s cottage. It was a great base for us while exploring the South Downs area and within a short drive of the historic town of Lewes. The cottage was spotless, well appointed, comfortable and tastefully furnished and Clare was an excellent host. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed eating outside in the pretty little garden. Our labrador enjoyed the dog biscuits Clare provided and loved meeting Clare’s dogs and the other dogs staying at one of the Shepherd’s huts in the garden. The views from the main bedroom and the upper sitting room were stunning. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Daniela’s cottage had the perfect size and layout for our little family reunion. It was very clean, tidy and beautiful, which made our holiday special. We particularly enjoyed the garden with its bbq, the well equipped kitchen and the proximity with the Ashdown forest, farm shops and Hever castle. Beds are comfortable which makes it easy to rest. Daniela was very helpful and kindly offered some lovely biscuits for our arrival :) I very much recommend this place and I would love to come back!

What a gem of a cottage, well proportioned, clean and nicely designed. We stayed here with our dog and two young boys and we loved the ability to walk down along the stream to the local pub through beautiful countryside. There are immediate neighbours so you don’t feel totally isolated, but its remote location feels very private, relaxing and calm. We loved our stay, thank you for having us!

We had a wonderful stay in a fabulous property in a beautiful setting on a working farm .The Oast House was well equipped and spacious . Carly, the host, was great at communicating and her instructions were very clear . A couple of minor snags were dealt with very promptly. The area is great for visiting the many National Trust properties in the area. We are hoping to make a return visit one day soon .

We LOVED our stay here and plan to come back when our dog ( currently a puppy) is big enough to enjoy the longer walks on offer in the area! Helen is one of the best Airbnb hosts we have met who sent us so many great tips in advance that we could have stayed a few weeks and prob not seen it all. The Retreat is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy time away from everyday routine. The spacious, comfortable and well-equipped accommodation is perfectly complemented by pleasing views and the feeling of being immersed in nature. Mandy’s place is tucked away, but has good access to the coast and surrounding countryside/gardens. Highly recommended.

Easy to find and as described, great base for a catch up with a pal and walkable to sea front. We didn’t have a car and we didn’t need one.

We had a lovely time staying in this charming cottage which. The rooms were very comfortable and It was very peaceful at night with a lovely view from the beautiful garden to watch dusk approach. There is an old local pub four doors down which serves very good food. There was a folder left on the kitchen side of the many places of interest to go and visit especially for families. We had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate recommending a stay here.

Lovely location the host was very responsive and accommodating to us having a baby would definitely stay here again. It’s a beautiful place.

Spent 6 pleasant days at Littleshaw Cottage. Although we went in June the evenings were chilly but the underfloor heating in the cottage kept us warm. All the things we needed, and more, for a comfortable stay were provided. We felt very secure in the cottage as it is in the private grounds of the main house behind a gated driveway. This was our first visit to Kent and there is so much to see. If we returned for another holiday we would like to stay here again.

What a great little cottage. Plenty of room for 4 adults. It was very central, just a very short walk to the beach and the shops. On a one way street so surprisingly quiet. parking is ready and cheap in Seaford. Thank you, I would highly recommend

Lovely home, hot tub was great - location was good for what we needed (we did a yoga retreat day nearby and it was walking distance) very clean, parked on road round the corner for free. Geo’s coffee across the road was nice too.

We had a fantastic week at Folly, everything that we needed was on hand and such a beautiful place to stay. Many thanks!
