Crows Nest Queen - Camden Windward House

Crow’s Nest, our best value small suite, makes up the 3rd floor of the Windward House Inn. It is located up an additional flight of stairs off of the main staircase. It is comprised of two cozy bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. One room is available solely with a queen bed and the other is available in two configurations, a king bed, or two twin beds. (Advance notice is required for the two twin option). These rooms are our best value and are available individually, or combined to accommodate a family of four! There is a skylight in the gabled ceiling, allowing for night time star gazing from bed. The en-suite bathroom has a gabled ceiling and features a small walk-in shower. It is not recommended for guests over 6ft or for those who need some extra room. The Crow’s Nest Suite is named for the perch located atop the mast on a sailing vessel. Sailors would sneak off to this area to escape the discipline of naval life, or to keep lookout over the horizon for enemy ships. Aptly named, it feels like escaping from the whole world in this small cozy Windward House suite. The Crow’s Nest is a favorite among many repeat guests because of its pricing, and proximity to the harbor and town. All guest rooms include a complimentary two course, fresh, made to order, breakfast.

Windrose - Camden Windward House

The Windrose Suite has a private front porch and entrance, and is located up a private staircase on the 2nd floor of the Windward House Inn. This romantic suite has the feel of an apartment with its cozy front facing sitting room and gas fireplace. The separate bedroom is furnished with a high luxurious queen bed and boasts multiple windows on both sides for cross ventilation. A unique highlight of the Windrose Suite, is its spacious en-suite bathroom. Soak in the old-fashioned claw foot tub, or step into the large walk-in shower depending on your bathing preferences. The Windrose Suite has a unique history. CPT Elijah Glover (1792-1868) was a lumberman and shipbuilder who utilized its sitting room as his office and place of business, when he built the house in the 1850s. It takes its name after the graphic tool used to give a succinct view of how wind speed and direction are typically distributed at a particular location. Before the development of the compass rose, a wind rose was included on maps in order to let the reader know which directions the 8 major winds were blowing. All guest rooms include a complimentary two course, fresh, made to order, breakfast.

Quarterdeck - Camden Windward House

The Quarterdeck is a deluxe, 2nd floor king room, with a large private deck and separate entrance from the main Windward House Inn. Located in the back of the property, this very private room boasts floor to ceiling windows with an enormous deck, overlooking Mt. Battie. The high vaulted ceilings add additional natural light with a series of skylights. Other amenities include a gas fireplace, refrigerator, Keurig machine and large Samsung smart TV. The en-suite bathroom features a single person Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. In nautical terms, the quarterdeck is a raised deck behind the main mast of a sailing ship. Traditionally it was where the captain commanded his vessel and where the ship’s military colors were kept. This led to its use as the main ceremonial and reception area. From relaxing to star gazing, let the Quarterdeck be the focal point of your new England trip. All guest rooms include a complimentary two course, fresh, made to order, breakfast.

Harbor Carriage - Camden Windward House

The Harbor Carriage is a deluxe, ground floor king room, furnished with a romantic period inspired, dramatic four-poster antique style king bed. With a private entrance, that is separate from the main Windward House Inn, this room is ideal for romantic getaways. There is a refrigerator and beautiful blue gas fireplace (as of 11/28/19 fireplace is out of order until further notice) that matches the vintage soaking tub in the en-suite. A unique feature of this room is the enormous en-suite bathroom, featuring it’s vintage high-back soaking claw-foot bathtub and separate walk-in shower. The Harbor Carriage gets its name from its own rich history. Within this section of the renovated post and beam barn, the original owners of this circa 1850s Greek revival home, kept their carriage. All guest rooms include a complimentary two course, fresh, made to order, breakfast.

A cozy bedroom features a queen bed with decorative pillows and a navy-blue throw. Two striped armchairs with cushions are positioned near a small wooden table that holds a pair of sunglasses and a notepad. Soft lighting is provided by bedside lamps.
