Family-friendly vacation rentals in Vaxholm Municipality

We stayed here during our time in Scandinavia and it was an absolute highlight of the trip. Ulrica was very friendly, warm, and welcoming, which was so lovely after a day of traveling. The space itself is gorgeous, peaceful, and private. Waking up to swans swimming just outside the window was a wonderful way to start the day. While staying here, my husband and I kept saying that we couldn’t believe where we were - it was all just so beautiful and idyllic. Highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Stockholm area & take advantage of the additional spa/wood-fired sauna offering! They were a treat to end the day with. Thank you, Ulrica for your hospitality and for sharing such a special place!! - Insight for anyone traveling without a car: the public transit was easy to use to and from Stockholm. The walk to the bus stop is a bit hilly so take that into consideration with luggage :) We did use an Uber once after a long day wandering in Stockholm and it was about 18€.

Great location. Easy to check in. Perfect lawn for the kids. The place could have been just a bit cleaner, but maybe that is to be expected from an authentic archipelago house. Overall a very good experience though. Nice lake about a 15 min walk away.

We had a fantastic stay. Wonderful, peaceful house in a location that is accessible by car within 90 minutes of Stockholm. There is a short ferry onto the island that comes very regularly, making the trip very easy. Would highly recommend for the beautiful and peaceful surroundings

We loved our stay at Per’s home! Our family of 5 had plenty of space for our stay for 2 weeks. The home has everything you need for cooking and feels like a cozy home. Our kids loved playing in the pool. Per and Jennie were super responsive and helpful. The home is a very short drive from Mörby Centrum where you can get all your groceries and do some shopping. You can also easily catch the subway from there into the city. Driving into the city is also easy with just a quick drive (maybe 15 minutes) to the center of Stockholm. The park down the street and the nature trails nearby were also delightful.

We absolutely loved our stay. It was everything we had hoped for after the chaos of Fubai where we live. Quiet, peaceful, lovely walks, close to a town with great shops and restaurants. The house is so well equipped we chose to cook at home most nights. Camilla was super responsive to any questions we had. Stockholm was a short 25 minute drive. I would highly recommend this lovely house !

Maries Haus ist ein Traum. Es gibt alles was man mit einem hohen Anspruch erwarten kann. Wir sind als 4-köpfige Familie Gast gewesen, die Kommunikation mit Marie war schnell, sehr freundlich und unterstützend. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet, der Garten bietet Platz zum Fußballspielen, Yoga und gemütliche Sitzplätze inkl. Grill - die Lage auf Lidingö ist perfekt - tolles Café in der Nähe am See und Badestelle, ruhige Lage zum Joggen, Spazierengehen. Ein wunderbarer Aufenthaltsort, an dem man Schweden/Stockholm erleben kann.

Wir hatten sehr schöne Ferien und fühlten uns sehr wohl im Haus mit grandioser Aussicht!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Johan. La maison est très spacieuse, très propre et arrangée avec beaucoup de goût. L’emplacement est idéal pour aller à Stockholm par le tramway puis le métro ou pour faire des croisières depuis le port tout proche. Johan a été réactif et la communication a été très facile. Je recommande !

The house is wondeful and fully equipeed at a great Location. Its located on the top of small Island connected via a short Bridge to the main land. There are three different terasse's at the house so that you find always a spot to sit in the sun or shadow. It's a short walk to the Pier where Joakims Motor boat is located. We, Family with two children, had a lot of fun going out with the boat for Swimming or to the next city vaxholm, which is the center of the stockholm archipelago. Right in front of the Island are the ferries and cruiseships going in and out to Stockholm , so ist always something to see. But also when you want to find a quite place with the boat to swim it's just around the Corner. We went always down late evening to the water, 500m, to watch the sunset over the water. It was just a really great vacation time.

Fantastiskt läge, med egen brygga och klippbad ett stenkast från huset. Toppen för barn. En fördel att ha bil. Catja är en väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam värd.

The house is a real pearl in Stockholm archipelago, beautifully decorated which allows guests to understand the true living in this unique nature setting. The house is well equipped, with a spacious patio/deck for breakfast, lunch or dinner with brand new deck furniture. The house built in 1912, offers spectacular views from each room and is located next to a 1500 year old viking chiefs' grave shaped like a boat which gives a unique tie to the Scandinavian history. We experienced beautiful waterfront sunsets dining at the the dock house which offers charming overnight accommodations and has all the kitchen, dining/bbq equipment so guests can enjoy the dining at waterfront without running up to the main house. The sauna house is easy to use and guests can cool off stepping into the sea. For local excursions, the house is about 50 minutes drive to Stockholm old town. We thank the host Fredrik and his wife for a fantastic vacation in this spectacular Swedish nature reserve.

Beautiful place. Great surroundings. Big and spacious house with the most beautiful view. Very informative, friendly and helpful host. Always responding quickly. We went as a family with three kids (4, 6, 14 years). We would love to return to Edholma.

La maison est absolument parfaite. spacieuse, lumineuse et très bien amenagée avec les très beaux meubles La vue sur la nature est un gros plus. Le quartier extrêmement agreable paisible avec de nombreuses balades possibles dans Lidingo. Il est possible de rejoindre le centre de stockholm en 30 min avec un bus permettant de sortir de l Ile puis du metro. Nous recommandons fortement cette maison. Gabrielle a été très reactive et agréable

Wir haben Fredrik als einen tollen Gastgeber erlebt. Die Unterkunft hat unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Sie ist klein aber hervorragend ausgestattet. Die Lage ist traumhaft und lädt zu naturnahen Erlebnissen ein. Wir würden jederzeit wieder gerne dorthin zurückkehren.

Peter was quite responsive. The place is a bit remote to reach if you are coming by public transport. From Höganäs ferry there is a bus service but rarely, so get informed about it. From the Tynningövägen ferry it's walking distance. There's only one supermarket which only takes Swedish cards. Vaxholm is reachable by ferry and has multiple options for restaurants and supermarket. Peter's place is very calm and peaceful. You can enjoy warm sun in the garden throughout the day. You can enjoy the day walking around the island.The shower and washing machine is in a separatecabin outside the bungalow. And the toilet inside is an electric one. Kitchen has all the basic amenities.

We absolutely loved our stay! Comfortable house, great location. The sledding hill right out back, the view of the water, and beautiful holiday decorations put it over the top for our Christmas vacation with friends! Cedrik is an amazing host, too - He was always available for questions and tips, including booking us a delicious traditional Swedish Christmas dinner in downtown Stockholm! Tack!

Was soll ich sagen - einfach perfekt! Das Haus hat eine optimale Lage in einem grünen Vorort von Stockholm, zur Ostsee mit schönen Badestellen sind es ein paar Gehminuten zu Fuß, auch ein Supermarkt ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Ein richtig großes Einkaufszentrum für jeden Bedarf kann man in 10 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichen, und in die Stockholmer Innenstadt braucht man mit dem Auto 20 Minuten und mit dem Bus vor der Haustür 35. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist grandios, 2 Bäder, 4 Schlafzimmer, eine Küche mit allem Komfort und ein großzügiger Wohn- und Essbereich machen es zum idealen Ferienheim auch für eine große Familie. Die Einrichtung ist hochwertig und geschmackvoll. Die langen schwedischen Sommerabende genießt man am besten auf dem riesigen Sonnendeck mit beheiztem(!) Pool, für Kinder gibt es daneben auch noch einen komplett ausgestatteten Spielplatz mit Trampolin. Philip ist ein warmherziger und freundlicher Gastgeber, wir haben uns bei ihm jederzeit zu Hause gefühlt.

We had a phenomenal stay at Jakob's house with pool in Stockholm. The location is great: quiet, but with shopping and restaurants within walking distance, and with good public transport to the center of Stockholm. The spacious house is furnished with great taste and style and is fully equipped. Everything was available in the kitchen, and the sound system and projector are awesome. Jakob is a great host, and he answered questions very quickly. We will be happy to come back to Stockholm, and very happy to come back to Jakob's house - thank you for everything!

We had an excellent stay at Daniel's house. The view is splendid, and it is very quiet. The only difference from the photos is that there isn't a large sandy beach, so there's no need to bring your children's sand toys ;-) However, there is a trampoline that is very popular. The nearby mini-golf is also great.

Wij hebben hier een paar dagen met de groep verbleven en het was absoluut de moeite waard. De accommodatie was netjes, goed onderhouden en schoon. Daarnaast bevond het zich in een prachtige buurt, op slechts 15 minuten rijden met een Uber naar het centrum van Stockholm. Al met al hebben we enorm genoten en zouden we deze plek zeker aanraden!

Our family of five (kids 8, 12, and 15) loved our stay at this home. It's a very inviting space, with plenty of room to cozy up or spread out. The neighborhood is also lovely & peaceful. The kids loved the pool as well as the gaming systems. There's a good bakery & grocery store within walking distance. Downtown Stockholm is easily accessible via public transportation. Tobias & Anna-Karin were very responsive to any questions/requests, and they left a bunch of useful info & tips on things-to-do. A great experience all around, and we would definitely return. Highly recommended.

We travelled from Canada and stayed at this beautiful property in July of 2024. Four adults and two children were very well accommodated and the host was very responsive. Small details like childrens books and activities left for use were so kind and appreciated. All information regarding the house itself, the grounds and pool and many local recos and tips were shared which made our stay seamless. The home is large and beautifully decorated. Our children enjoyed the pool during their visit, making our vacation that much more enjoyable. Pool depth is such that older children can touch bottom but deep enough to cool off, even for adults (shoulder depth). The property is private and lush with beautiful gardens. The neighbors are friendly and the area seemed family oriented and safe. The metro station is a quick walk away and from there you can get to downtown Stockholm easily. Should we return to Stockholm, the first place we would check for accomodation would be with this host.

Das Haus ist wunderschön und sehr pflegeleicht und familienfreundlich. Emelie war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wichtig zu verstehen ist, dass die Extrawohnung nur auf Anfrage und ab bestimmter Anzahl dazu gebucht werden kann.
