Family-friendly vacation rentals in Thonac

Peaceful oasis! We absolutely adored our stay here. It was remote but surrounded by beautiful towns and villages to explore. The place itself was perfect for what we needed and just spending time outside in nature/farms. The pool and hot tub were exceptional. It was so quiet we felt we were fully alone and could fully switch off. There was everything you needed kitchen and bbq etc. Would love to come back.

Super séjour ! Les hôtes sont très sympas et accueillants. Le logement est propre, confortable et bien équipé, exactement comme décrit. Très bien situé, avec plusieurs villes sympas à proximité pour les visites.

Wij hadden een zeer aangenaam verblijf bij Dominique. De omgeving is prachtig, rustig en charmant. De gîte heeft een authentieke stijl, was zeer goed onderhouden en erg goed voorzien. Ons dochtertje (1,5 jaar) was een grote fan van de geitjes en schaapjes op het domein. Supermarkten, stadjes, marktjes, wandelingen,… alles is zeer dichtbij. Absoluut een aanrader!

Nous avons été accueilli par Didier un soir. C’était chaleureux et attentionné car il nous a acheté un « kit de survi » pour le petit déjeuner et nous a recommandé les endroits d’exception à visiter…cette région est un vrai coup de cœur. Le gîte est top, on s’y sent chez nous très vite avec la pièce à vivre spacieuse et sa superbe cheminée, la literie confortable, ainsi que le jacuzzi qui a servi tous les jours. L’extérieur est incroyable, c’est au milieu de la verdure au calme, où les grillons accompagnent nos journées et nos soirées. Le gîte est équipé pour les enfants…jouets, livres, vélos, balançoires et toboggans. À deux pas du château de Bonaguil, il est facile de profiter d’un des plus beaux châteaux de la région ainsi que du restaurant en bas. Didier, un grand merci pour cette semaine, c’était parfait !

Un cadre magnifique, des hôtes charmants et toujours disponibles, des équipements au top, literie et linge de maison de qualité. Merci beaucoup, nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances !

Un grand merci à Cathy pour sa réactivité avec notre demande de réservation au dernier moment. Nous avons été très bien accueilli, avec des instructions claires et toutes les informations sur les activités à faire dans la région qui est magnifique. Notre séjour a été super, le logement est très joli et fonctionnel avec tout ce dont on pourrait avoir besoin. Nous avions même ce qu'il faut pour le petit déjeuner à disposition. Le jacuzzi est un vrai plus avec une superbe vue. Une adresse à retenir !

Wer eine ruhige Oase im Grünen sucht, ist hier genau richtig! Die Aussicht ist herrlich, der Sonnenuntergang ein Traum. Das Baumhaus ist gemütlich eingerichtet, in der Küche sind die wichtigsten Utensilien vorhanden, damit man gut zu Hause kochen kann. In der nahen Umgebung gibt es unzählige kleine beschauliche Dörfer, welche zu den schönsten Orten Frankreichs zählen. In der Vorsaison sind einige Aktivitäten, wie z.B. Kanufahren, meist noch nicht offen, was uns nicht störte, da wir uns vor allem aufs Wandern und Ausruhen konzentrierten. Anne ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin - bei Fragen war sie schnell erreichbar und kam wenn nötig kurz vorbei. Gerne wieder :-)

wij verbleven een week in april met zijn drietjes. we waren de enige gasten maar hebben een heerlijk rustige week gehad. huis was prachtig, modern, robuust met alles erop en eraan.

Caroline und Gilles sind sehr herzliche und freundliche Gastgeber, die bei Fragen sofort zur Stelle waren. Die Unterkunft ist wie auf den Fotos beschrieben. Es handelt sich um eine wirklich außergewöhnliche, sehr große Wohnung. Das Wohnzimmer (früher die Bahnhofshalle) ähnelt einem Museum, Caroline und Gilles haben alte Bahnhofsutensilien und Bilder gesammelt und dort ausgestellt. Haus und Garten sind liebevoll restauriert und gestaltet, die beiden haben viel Arbeit (und Geld) investiert, um aus dem alten Bahnhof eine wundervolle Unterkunft zu machen. In der Küche fehlt es an nichts. Das Zentrum von Le Bugue ist ca 1 km entfert, über den schönen Fahrradweg "voie verte" sind es 4 km. Wir haben die Radtouren und unsere Unterkunft sehr genossen. Ich habe mich auch über den persönlichen Kontakt und einen kleinen "Plausch" am Abend gefreut, so konnte ich mal wieder die "eingerosteten" Französisch-Kenntnisse anwenden. Vielen Dank für alles!

Nous avons passé un excellent week-end chez Laure, au pigeonnier. Le cadre est propice à la déconnexion. Le célèbre village Collonges la rouge est accessible facilement à pied et de belles balades sont à faire. Le logement, atypique, était propre et fournissait tout le matériel nécessaire. Un jus de pomme bio de bienvenue nous attendait. Un grand merci à Laure pour sa communication, sa gentillesse et sa flexibilité sur notre heure de départ. Un bel endroit où décompresser !

This house is an absolute gem. Perfectly located for exploring Castelnaud Chateau and other local sights. The garden view is lovely and is great fun when the balloons float past! A beautiful, characterful cottage in the heart of this historic village.

Great Gite in a very tranquil and peaceful location. Well situated for visiting Brantôme and Perigueux and the surrounding area. Christian was very friendly and explained everything well when we arrived. Would recommend this host and this Gite if you like exploring rural France.

We had a great couple of weeks here. It proved an ideal location from which to explore the Périgord Vert. A very peaceful spot with a secure garden for our dog and walks nearby. The facilities in the cottage were excellent and as described and we really appreciated the bottle of wine and home made cake on arrival. The pool was very relaxing and comfortable and easily warm enough to swim in late May. There is an (excellent) boulangerie in the nearest village which is walkable and supermarkets for provisions in Brantôme. Several nearby towns had markets. Suzy and Steve (and Alfie) were lovely hosts and we fully recommend it. It was exactly what we wanted.

Le logement de Claude et Marie-Christine est un véritable petit havre de paix, hôtes très accueillants et réactifs. le petit espace extérieur est très agréable et reposant! Tout est fait pour s 'y sentir chez soit ! rien ne manque ! l'environnement est magnifique et d'un calme absolu! c'est une adresse que je conserve précieuse ment !!

What a wonderful spot to get away! Truly beautiful views and if you like to hear the birds, this a must stay. Very quiet for sleeping. Lots of space for us to spread out in the large kitchen area and the outside covered patio. Conveniently located near Perigueux, 15 minutes to most services. Please note: There are steep stairs to the upper level and you walk through one bedroom with an ensuite bathroom to get to the third bedroom. Second bathroom on upper floor. Worked just fine for our family. Lots of lovely paths for walking. Laura and her family are lovely. Definitely recommend.

We've just stayed at Anne's place for a week and had the most wonderful holiday. It had everything we could have wished for and more. Perfect for our 3 year old with so much to do for him and the pool was secured with a fence. There are so many games and spaces to explore. Location was superb and we are already looking forward to returning. Thank you Anne for giving us the best week!

Walnut gîte was exactly as described. We had a wonderful 5 days and particularly loved the pool, the outlook and the location. We were close enough to do all sights and still able to come back to the peace and quiet in the afternoons for a swim in the pool and a glass of wine on the terrace. Carolyn was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Rien à dire sur le logement, c était parfait. Cécile et Sean ont été de très bons conseils. Il y a beaucoup de lieux à visiter à proximité du logement, de découvertes gastronomiques et de jolis villages. Un très bel endroit.

Logement bien équipé et bien situé. Nous avons passé un excellent mois au coin du feu, au calme, entourés de nature. A proximité de petites villes avec des activités, supermarchés et 20min de Perigueux Environ 2h de Sarlat et autres sites magnifiques de la Dordogne. Meme si beaucoup de choses sont fermées en Janvier, nous ne nous sommes pas ennuyés! Communication facile et agreable avec Jacques et sa fille Claire-Helene. Hotes accomodants, nous nous sommes bien ressourcés. Lit bien confortable aussi qui est un bonus! Merci pour tout

Nous avons passé un agréable week-end. La maison était très propre et les instructions de Thibault étaient très claires. Je recommande le logement.

Firstly the hosts were responsive from the moment we booked to right through to check out. It helps they live on-site so when we had questions/issued Tas was with us instantly. The house has an incredible wow factor, and the heated pool and outside setting was to die for. Perfect for a general pool party / bbq party. What we especially liked as 3 couples with babies and toddlers, Tas has a “just like home approach” meaning we were not at all worried about the kids. The house is well equipped and had 3 high chairs and cots (with matresses). The bedrooms are wonderful and beds very comfortable, for an old house even the shower pressure was good. This region is rural so with water nearby do expect the usual flies/bugs/mozzie. That said, I was not biten all week and there were ample citronella aids (raid) left in kitchen for us along with a welcome hamper. Hosts are English and cater for a UK audience very well. Noise was never a problem and we felt at ease al week.

Aernoud’s house is stylish, warm and very relaxing. Very comfortable beds, good quality linen, beautiful toiletries and diffusers around the house. Kitchen is very well equipped and easy to use. We stayed in February so the wood burner was wonderful! The garden is well equipped and bathed in sunshine, we would love to go back in summertime. The cinema/games room was a lovely addition. There were 7 of us and we had lots of space to spread out and relax as a group or alone. The bakery is very good and there is a restaurant in the village although it wasn’t open when we stayed. We will definitely be back!

Jenny and Marc were excellent hosts. We were made to feel very welcome and they are lovely people. The place is beautiful, the view is amazing, the gîte was very comfortable and well equipped. It is such a peaceful and tranquil place and the pool is superb. We cannot fault it at all. Thank you Jenny and Marc!

Het is een geweldig en huiselijk ingerichte woning. Heel veel privacy, en prachtig uitzicht vanuit echt elke ruimte! We voelden ons dan ook onmiddellijk thuis. Bij aanvang hadden we een verzoek aan Nathalie, wat meteen voor ons geregeld werd, echt top. Kortom: een echte aanrader, ook vanwege het feit dat het een perfecte uitvalsbasis is voor het gebied tussen de rivieren de Dordogne en de Vésère, vlakbij het mooie plaatsje Sarlat.
