Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Tangalle

We stayed for 2 weeks at Gayans place, it looks exactly like the pictures with lots of space. The bed is really comfy and the shower has hot water although the pressure is low. Me and my boyfriend both work online, so the desks were great however 10GB of fibre internet was not enough for both of us to work for a full day You do need a bike for the location as there aren’t many restaurants in walking distance. We rented a different one because the bike provided had no mirrors I know this is a family home, however the owners were occasionally cleaning in the garden which made it feel a bit less private at times Overall, I would recommend Gayan’s place, it was great value for money and we had a lovely time in Weligama, thank you ☺️

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

Meine Schwester und ich haben 2 Nächte in diesem Airbnb verbracht und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist entsprechend der Lage & Größe des Apartments wirklich top! Unser Highlight war die wunderschöne Aussicht aus dem Schlafzimmer, und der morgendliche Besuch eines Pfaues auf dem Dach vor dem Ausblickfenster, der uns seinen Tanz vorgeführt hat :) Wir würden wieder kommen!

Haben 3 Nächte bei Josephine verbracht. Die Unterkunft war super schön, geräumig und hatte eine tolle Dachterrasse. Außerdem waren die Empfehlungen klasse - hier hat Josephine ein nettes Dokument zusammengestellt, das man sich unbedingt durchlesen sollte. Außerdem war der Preis sehr fair. Ich kann sie nur wärmstens empfehlen. liegt etwas abseits vom Strand aber es gibt einen kleinen, süßen Einkaufsladen direkt ums Eck und ein super leckeres familiengeführtes Restaurant (Humbhaha Ahangama) fußläufig. Für die meisten anderen Sachen kann man besser ein Tuktuk nehmen. Hier solltet ihr unbedingt die Empfehlung aus dem Dokument beachten, Anoura war einfach super :)! Mein einziger negativer Punkt ist, dass es etwas in der Nähe der Bahnstrecke liegt und daher manchmal etwas laut sein kann - uns hat das aber nicht gestört. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ces quelques jours chez Nilu. Jolie maison, joli jardin, Nilu et sa famille on été très accueillants. Idéalement située, à quelques minutes de kabalana beach dans un quartier légèrement en retrait de l’effervescence de la côte. Merci !!

Great place. Right on the beach with a gate that provides complete privacy. Even with the direct proximity to the beach you feel safe and the entire resort has a great chill vibe about it. The waves are great for fun, body and surf boarding and as our close friends said “they just keep coming, it’s relentless fun” and the cool pool has a perfect temperature to plunge into after the sea. Lots of little cafes, bars, restaurants, surf schools and shops all outside the front door. The supermarket is a 10-15 minute walk or a short tuk tuk ride, selection isn’t that good and was about the only negative side of what was a very successful and relaxing week for Mums and Dads, whilst the teenagers were kept happy with the sea, pool and of course, a bit of internet time!! Lastly, the house team were always helpful and obliging to assist and guide. Thank you to them and the evening guard who keeps you safe after a hard day in the sun. We will be back…..

Gads Villa is a truly magical place. The gardens are exquisitely landscaped, and the giant Velvet Apple tree is really a wonder to behold. The pool has a shallow section which is perfect for little ones, or for adults to lounge in. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed (important when traveling with 4 youngsters!). The bathrooms are likewise huge and very prettily set out. Beds are comfortable and the fans were sufficient to keep us cool at night. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe, a few minutes tuk tuk ride into the main part of town. I personally found it very convenient to have yoga and a little spa within a few minutes walk. Secret Beach is also only a short walk away. Sahan and team were super helpful, and breakfasts were delicious. All in all a fabulous stay.

We had a great short stay. Dori let us have a late check out, which was generous.The outside showers are great and the place is beautiful. Red to know that one of the showers is not connected to the room so you need to go out through the living room. There was some electricity problems in the neighborhood so the AC in the living room did not work well. In the overall we had great time and the place was very welcoming. Thank you Dori

We had An amazing stay in ahangama. Ann was incredibly helpful and very responsive. She went above and beyond with touches like beers on arrival after a long day of travel. The apartment is right above the most delicious restaurant and right on the sea. It was amazing waking up to the sound of the waves. We would recommend and come back in a heartbeat.

We had a fantastic stay at Vinu’s place in Hiriketiya! The family was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The location was peaceful and private, perfect for unwinding. One of the highlights was driving our own tuk-tuk up and down the charming little winding roads to get there—it added to the adventure! The hosts kindly let us park our tuk-tuk safely inside their gates at night, which we really appreciated. They also helped with laundry and, in a sweet and thoughtful gesture, gave small gifts to the kids when we said goodbye. Truly wonderful people and a great place to stay in Hiriketiya. Highly recommend!

De beste plek tot nu toe in Sri Lanka! De kamer, keuken en badkamer zijn ruim, zeer schoon en fijn ingedeeld. Je hebt een warme douche en wc papier. Koelkast en vriezer werken goed. Je hebt een plekje om lekker te zitten en te eten. Het bed ligt comfortabel en de klamboe is goed! De familie is heel aardig. Je voelt je erg thuis. Locatie is naar ons idee ook perfect. Minuut lopen naar het eerste strand. Je kan er lekker op ligbedjes liggen en een kokosnoot bestellen (etc). Stukje verderop is schildpadden strand, wat leuk is om naartoe te gaan. Je kan fietsen huren, dan kan je ook naar andere strandjes of de omgeving verkennen. Al met al: een echte aanrader!!

Awesome place. The host is very helpful and can organize anything you need like scooter etc. nice location just off the main road. Bed comfortable and the AC works well. Really great experience

Amazing host and the space was extremely homely. It was picturesque and exactly as the photos advertised. The amenities were functional and the space in itself was well maintained and clean. It was an Eco-friendly abode. It was a calm and peaceful stay. A little away from the hustle and bustle but the distance to other restaurants and shops were pretty close by and walkable. Transportation was also easily available.

We really loved our stay in the apartment. It's very nicely designed and has everything that's needed. Also, we really enjoyed cooking in the outside kitchen. The place has a nice working area if you ever need to be productive. Eva was a great host. She was there for us all the time and helped us a lot with everything. The beach is very close and several shops aren't far away.

We stayed at Sajeewa’s home for three weeks and could not recommend it enough. It’s spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook meals and save money on eating out. The gardens around the house are lush and invite lots of birds for watching in the early mornings. The balcony is such a highlight, it’s serene and peaceful, you could spend hours there chatting, working or simply staring into nature. Sajeewa and his family are so hospitable and very easy to communicate with, they made our stay feel very homely. Local shops are within walking distance and Weligama beach is a 20 minute walk at best. We would definitely stay with Sajeewa again if we’re back in Weligama.

The place is just amazing, much better than on pictures. So clean, new, big space. Near you can find almost everything. Iresh is always in the connection, helping with everything. One thing you have to know that the road near the room is so loud. So for sensitive people it could be noisy, but earplugs helped me and I had a great experience there.

Great little oasis in Weligama, Ananda and his wife Malika were very hospitable. The unit was spacious and had all the amenities one could need, including washing machine, bicycle, cooking utensils, and even hot water in the shower. They also have a small convenience store attached to their home so anything you need is easily available. And especially enjoyed the breakfasts they kindly made for me during my short stay. Would have loved to stay longer if I had more time, hope to be back soon!

We stayed at Sanjayas place for four nights. The family was super kind and helped us with local advice such as restaurants and must-sees close by. They arranged transport to the house and again when we left. Their hospitality was warm and made us feel welcome. We would definitly recommend this place to others.

Very worth for the price! Easy to walk to nearby beaches and cafes. Definitely hard to sleep in at all since the road gets quite loud with busses honking. The house is next to the forest/jungle so there are many small bugs like ants in the bathroom and sometimes the bedroom but it’s not so bad, just something to be aware of. The power went out a few times during our stay but apparently that’s pretty normal for this region especially if it is raining. Overall would still recommend for good location and price. Padma was able to do our laundry as well for a small fee

I had a great stay at Prabodi’s place. I stayed for a week and she was very friendly and helpful. She arranged transportation for me from Colombo and helped me with laundry and bike rental. The place is clean and well maintained. It’s definitely worth the money. Highly recommend

En arrivant devant le logement, nous avons été perplexe par rapport au quartier. une fois rentré dans le logement, nous avons été conquis. Natalie a un carnet d'adresses génial, que nous avons utilisé pour les restaurants et le surf. c'était incroyable ! Elle a été réactive et investi dans notre séjour. merci beaucoup 😊

The old chilli house really did feel like a home from home. In a great location Kris and his family were very warm and welcoming. Kris is a natural host and had contacts for anything we wanted to do. From Tuk Tuk and Scooter rides when needed to his amazing knowledge of the area. We were so lucky to experience this little slice of paradise. The old chilli house has beautiful rooms, with attention to small, homey details. Do not hesitate to book, it’s a popular airbnb for a reason!

Die Unterkunft von Mathilda ist wunderschön. Wir hatten tolle 9 Tage in dieser schönen Wohnung. Sie hat alles was man benötigt. Tolle Lage, super Aussicht, einfach klasse Wohnung. Sollte es uns noch einmal nach Mirissa verschlagen, würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder Mathildas Wohnung buchen. Danke für diese tolle Zeit!
