Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Takashima

We had a party of four who stayed for a full week. It was amazing. Location was perfect and quiet and it was centrally located to both Kyoto and Osaka

This is a lovely traditional home in a small, quiet town, attractive to stroll around and admire. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked for a night or two with friends and/or family. It suited our group of five adults and two 12-year-olds extremely well. The fact that it has so many bedrooms is a significant advantage for groups that don't all want to share the same sleeping space, as is often the case at Japanese Airbnbs. The friendly hosts were waiting for us at check-in and gave us an extremely detailed tour and explanation of the property. There are not many services within walking distance, so we were glad we rented a car. We cooked dinner and breakfast, and found many useful condiments and spices in the kitchen. Really, the only disadvantage of this home is that it is rather expensive, but the experience of staying there is unique, making it worth the cost. Airbnb prices in general seem to be rising, so it is not dissimilar to others like it.

Very warm and helpful household (luggage room option). Good location (quiet and few minutes to Kyoto Station). Rooms very clean, spacious and cosy; beds very comfortable. Everything as described. I highly recommend it!

The hosts were super welcoming, accommodating and responsive to all of our needs and concerns. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay and the location was very convenient especially for our first time.

It's a mountain cottage reminiscent of the movie "Little Forest".Away from the crowds, but quiet and peaceful. Sitting on the terrace and listening to the water flowing in the canal in front of the door is very relaxing. The house is located in the mountains, and the road to it passes through the mountains.Because they were worried that we couldn't find the way, the manager drove us around to make us feel at ease. Along the way, you can see neat rice fields and mountain villages, and in the distance, there are mountains and clear skies. Perhaps it is an everyday sight for people living here, but after getting used to the skyscrapers in the city, you will feel that such a sight is magnificent and tranquil. The house is fully equipped, and the room, bathroom and toilet are also very tidy.There is a fireplace in the living room and air conditioning in the bedroom. Although the night in the mountains is very cold, you can't feel it at all in the house.We used the fridge and kitchen, and borrowed the BBQ grill and table and chairs to BBQ on the terrace. Surrounded by mountains and forests, it was quiet with only the sound of birds and running water. It was a great experience. I was worried that it would be dark and scary in the mountains at night, but I found that the residential area was lit by streetlights, so there was nothing to worry about. The next morning, there was an old man walking his dog on the street, which made me feel that the security was actually very good. In addition, the manager was very hospitable and helped us book local ingredients in advance. The chicken was very fresh and delicious when roasted.If you need anything, just contact us and we'll get it to you soon. By the way, if you have time, be sure to go to the bakery recommended by the host. I lived in Kyoto for more than ten years, but the bread and desserts there are the best I have eaten in Kyoto!!!

We had a lovely stay at this authentic and beautifully maintained Airbnb in Kyoto. It was perfect for two couples, with clean, separate bedrooms and all amenities thoughtfully provided. The traditional design added to the charm, and the washing machine was a helpful bonus. The only small downside was that the kitchen and dining area on the lower level were a bit dark, but overall, it was a comfortable and peaceful place to stay. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy and clean house! The neighborhood is quiet and decent, making it a great option if you're driving and exploring in Kyoto. The host was very helpful—they speak excellent English and Chinese, which made the check-in process smooth and easy. The house itself is spacious, with two floors, three bedrooms, and one bathroom. It was perfect for us, and we appreciated the peaceful surroundings.

We spent 3 nights in Kyoto with our family of four. The small house is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood and within walking distance from the imperial gardens, the Gion neighbourhood, the river and a huge shopping arcade. We appreciated the quietness after the busy “must see” places in Kyoto. The house is small but has everything needed for 4 😊

Ken was on of the most accommodating, friendly and helpful hosts we have met. In addition to the basics amenities, we enjoyed having a deck off the back of our unit with a table and chairs. We loved having breakfast outside while watching the birds over the river. We had easy access to the walking and biking paths on both sides of the river as well as many restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the location. Even though we were traveling during Golden Week, it was quiet at night and not crowded in the vicinity. Ken helped make our first trip to Kyoto (and Japan) a joy!

A beautiful, cozy apartment in the heart of Gion district Kyoto. Location is excellent. We enjoyed seeing geishas and meikos regularly on evening walks just outside the apartment. It was close to hiking trails, many sightseeing destinations, trains, restaurants, etc. In the heart of everything. And yet super quiet, being on 4th floor with no neighbors (above or on sides) in an alley. Only downside is that the kitchen is very efficient, single burner, no counter space, etc. But you should be mostly eating out anyway. Also there is a red light at night in the main room from the fire alarm—we had to cover it with a jacket to sleep. Not sure what other reviewers thought was deceptive—it was as I expected, and honestly the view is phenomenal. Yes there is a parking lot but you can hardly see it and beyond that are the beautiful Kyoto hills and tops of temples peaking out. Tatami room was wonderfully cozy. Furniture and linens were quality. Stayed super warm inside. We miss it already!!

Everything was fine. They were clear and responsive when you needed it. The place was nice and peaceful—a good location between the two main stations.

We had an incredible week-long stay at Ken’s place! Quiet location yet right in the center of Kyoto & 10min walk to several train lines. Beautiful river views. The space is clean & cozy, perfect for 1-2 people. Ken is a delightful host - welcoming, responsive, and helpful throughout. I’d book again in a heartbeat.

Depending on your style of travel, Kyoto can be an overwhelming place. Seibido Inn felt like a safe house away from the touristy madness, yet still close enough to access the major destinations easily. Some of my favorite parts of my stay were the quiet walks home.

A lovely authentic Japanese home. Well designed with all of the essentials. A nice quiet neighborhood close to amenities and the city center.

This time, I went to Kansai with my friends, stayed at Xiaodai's house for three nights, it was really great, the elegant Japanese tatami villa, the interior is also beautiful, the living inside is very comfortable, the villa is located in the rich part of Kyoto, the environment is very good, although it is not in the center of the city, the amenities are very good, the subway and convenience stores are within a very short walk.And then, Sister Dai is really super nice!Very enthusiastic. He answered all kinds of questions on WeChat before checking in. He drove to Kyoto to pick us up at Yamashina Station on the day of arriving, and then gave us a detailed introduction of how to play in Kyoto. How to take a car, let us contact her on WeChat at any time when we encounter problems. The last night also took out a treasure of wine. It made me feel like a host, but a good friend who has been hosting me in Japan for many years.

It was a nice, almost four storey apartment. The place is 20 mins away from the station. But it was a nice walk from the station if the weather is good. The view from the place is great. You can see the lake and the mountain. We love the nature the most.

The building, garden, facilities, etc., all showed the owner's elegant and lovely personality, and it was a very beautiful place to stay. The explanation and support were very polite and helpful. The BBQ and fire in the garden, which was like a painting with the scent of Japanese cedar, were exceptional and fun. The breakfast provided was also very delicious, and everyone had a very satisfying trip from start to finish. I'd love to visit again if I get the chance.

this is a most amazing place we have ever stayed with air bnb, kitchen is equipped with all necessary cooking stuff and even various seasoning, bedrooms are superb.... Children have plenty of space inside the building and backyard for running, the space is more than enough for our 12 people group. ......... Perfect.......
