At night, you can enjoy authentic Kyoto cuisine nearby, or prepare for the next day at the 24-hour convenience store. When you return to Kyomachiya, you will find a quiet world isolated from the outside world, a perfect place to relax. This 122 sqm [Carp House] was renovated from a century-old Kyoto townhouse, spacious yet exquisite. The atrium of the house is a traditional Japanese courtyard, with a unique fish pond with a group of koi carp symbolizing good luck, a transparent courtyard and a picture of a step-by-step view will add a touch of harmony and tranquility to your trip. The whole house has three separate bedrooms, two fully functional separate toilets, a bathroom with a premium cypress bathtub, and an open kitchen where you can cook. Location is another highlight here. Located in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, it is only a 7-minute walk to the Keihan Line "Kiyomizu Gojo", only one stop to Kyoto's busiest shopping center "Shijo Kawaramachi", and only a 5-minute walk to Kamo River. I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

Reikaku Yasaka | Gion | Historical Machiya

Reikaku Yasaka was a building in ruins with the floor tilted by at least 30cm when we discovered this hidden jewel. The restoration was particularly difficult due to the state it was in but our craftsman’s determination to bring this Machiya back to its formal glory paid off for Reikaku Yasaka. The result is Japanese craftsmanship at its best and we are very proud to be able to share the result with the rest of the world. Check our other house as an alternate option @ Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo
