Farmstay vacation rentals in Swellendam

It's a beautiful place with great views in a well managed farm. We liked the honesty bar and the great interior. And sitting in the hot top watching the stars :) Be careful the Airbnb location link doesn't work. Just search for 360 on 62 at Google ;)

Our stay in the Blouhuis was super nice and we had a great time. Heleen is super friendly and proactive, you’ll find everything you need in the kitchen to make yourself feel at home. The location is super nice and we had the best sunrises, sunsets and night skies to watch 🥹 not having proper electricity was no issue at all since Heleen provided candles and other light sources. Thank you very much for having us!

LOVED our 3day stay, could have stayed a week. Beautiful surroundings, we loved sitting on the grass looking out on the dam. comfortable beds, had all aminities for a weekend away. our dogs loved swimming in the dam. perfect break away for the weekend. we also booked the cottage next door, a perfect group away setting.

The two hosts Helen and Owen are very warm people, it was very easy to feel comfortable there quickly. We had the apartment with its own kitchen and private terrace. There is also a shared kitchen that we could have used. Our wet things could be placed and dried in the garden. There is plenty of space. And since we were there for Christmas, Helek had even baked for everyone. It was a very nice stay.

You can feel the love, care, and passion that Gabriela has poured into creating this magical retreat. Our stay was nothing short of incredible. From the joy of walking up to the labyrinth and witnessing a breathtaking sunset to the pure exhilaration of squealing down the foofy slide—every moment felt special. We loved hiking to the waterfall and rock pools, immersing ourselves in nature’s beauty. Our cozy rondavel felt like a warm hug after each day of adventure. The charm of Frog Mountain extends beyond the landscapes—it’s in the horses grazing peacefully, the cows wandering the fields, and the symphony of beautiful birdsong each morning. Swimming in the river was a refreshing delight, and every corner of this place felt like a gift to the soul. We are deeply grateful

Our family loved staying at Sonja’s place. Stunning views and spacious interiors. Our kids loved the pool and the dogs, plus spotting ostriches and zebras. Incredible!

Great rustic farm stay outside of Swellendam. Safe to explore the area and the wood fired hot tub was a perfect addition. We loved exploring the farm and spotting all of the animals, especially the giraffe! Comms from the host could have been better though as we had some difficulty finding the farm for check-in without any directions.

A perfect little escape on a beautiful farm! We only stayed one night but wished we could’ve stayed longer. The views over the dam are magical, and the cottage is beautifully designed with everything you need, including an indoor braai, fully equipped kitchen and a gorgeous bathroom. We loved the peaceful, private setting, all the special touches, and being so close to top wine farms. Thank you, Natasha! We’ll definitely be back soon for a longer stay.

Beautiful surroundings the mountains are majestic. The pool is a real win. The kitchen was well stoked and the extras very generous. We loved sitting in the library lounge and reading books, chilling around the braai area and of course swimming in the pool. We had a happy stay thank you

Beautiful cottage on a beautiful farm. We were welcomed with a freshly baked bread and milk from the farm. Elzette was a wonderful host and we had a wonderful stay with them.

Very friendly homestay with amazing views. Peaceful and quiet with a lovely big yard. It is surrounded by a picturesque countryside with beautiful views across the valley.Location was beautiful and there was lots to do nearby. We were able to contact Amelia and Jacques easily and they were very helpful; from restaurant & activity recommendations to use of the cottage amenities. We had plenty of room for two adults; two kids & two infants. Just what we need to get away from the hustle & bustle of city life.A very beautiful & spacious cabin; we will certainly be going back as there is so much more activities and wine farms we left without visiting.

Elzeth was a supreme hostess! Communication was excellent. She was so warm & friendly offering plenty of advice about their farm & the surrounding area. We felt very welcomed. The cottage is gorgeous & spacious with top notch appliances, comfortable furnishings & top quality bedding. Her artwork is tastefully displayed. Extra care was taken with basic condiments, cold water, tea & coffee & milk. Gardens are beautiful with bonus of being able to pick fruit & veg grown. The hot tub is a real winner at night to view the night sky! Bonus.. a bottle of their estate wine. Wonderful surprise. Highly recommend a stay here… warning… 2 nights wasn’t enough, just too relaxing an environment! Thank you for making it a memorable stay, Elzeth.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was charming, the gardens so beautiful and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. It was easy to walk to nearby shops and restaurants - very conveniently located. Lovely linen, comfortable matrasses and we were spoilt with the Rain toiletries in the bathroom. Thank you to our host, David, we would love to visit again!

This little spot of heaven in the Karoo was perfect for a quiet reset. Beautiful quiet surroundings, and amazing star gazing. Absolutely will return!

My family and I had a great time staying at this property. My 4 year old son loved being able to feed the alpacas, it was a real highlight. We found everything to be as described in the listing. Overall we were all very happy with our stay.

What an absolutely amazing place, so peaceful and really beautiful surroundings, close to activities in Swellendam but away from the crowds. The perfect getaway with family. Lena was an absolute star.

The photos on Air BnB do not do justice to how stunning the view is from Elsje’s. It is totally breathtaking overlooking the mountains and vineyards. The complimentary firewood, milk, tea, coffee and rusks were a lovely touch. The kitchen has every amenity you could possibly need. Bedrooms big and spacious with electric blankets on all beds, which was ideal for a Winter stay. In the morning we really enjoyed a crisp walk around the vineyard and citrus tree plantations. One recommendation is to light the fire outdoors in the patio as it can become a little smoky indoors. There is an air conditioning that acts as a heater in the living room to keep the place nice and toasty. The city centre Montagu is an 8-10 minute drive away. Spar is excellent for groceries and ready made meals. For brunch we went to The Kloof farm stall which has beautiful coffee and scones overlooking an idyllic stream with a lovely white horse and kids play park. Thanks Elsje for an amazing stay, 10/10.

We had the most delightful stay at Doorways. Daph is an extraordinary host and her rooms are comfortable and really well appointed. Spacious, clean, peaceful and surrounded by a beautiful garden, you really can't ask for more. We can't wait to go back.
