Come and stay in the second oldest house in Montagu. This heritage Cape Dutch house was built in 1854 and has been carefully renovated to capture the period with a mix of of antiques and contemporary furniture. This creates a feeling of luxury and serenity when you enter the house with its high ceilings and extra large rooms. Condé Naste Traveller who featured the house described it as the coolest farmhouse to stay in SA. There is also the option to rent the whole house exclusively.

A bedroom features a queen-sized bed with neutral bedding and decorative pillows. A writing desk is positioned beside a chair, and a window offers views of the vineyard and surrounding greenery. Natural light fills the room, enhancing the warm tones of the wood floor.

This bedroom has a queen sized bed with an en suite bath, shower, basin and toilet. It opens onto a verandah which is shared with the other 2 Doorways rooms and guest lounge/dining room. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the guest bedroom. The room looks out over the vineyard and gets wonderful morning sunshine. In addition there is a common area / guest lounge / dining room for the exclusive use of Doorways guests. Free Wifi available in the room.

A spacious bedroom is enhanced by warm, natural light from a large window. A comfortable bed with decorative pillows is positioned between two wooden bedside tables with lamps. Rich, orange curtains frame the window, and a wooden wardrobe adds character to the space.

Cypress Cottage Guest House - Family room

Welcome to Cypress Cottage Guesthouse in the heart of Swellendam. The Family Self Catering Unit accommodates 4 people. It comprises of two separate inter-leading rooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. The latter room has a small dining and fully equipped kitchenette. There is a wood fire Dover stove and a stove top for cooking. Please note: this unit does not include breakfast. We have a Labrador that is very friendly and playful and 2 cats.
