This house is a work of the finest art. Beautiful curiosities in every corner, lovely garden. Do yourself a favour and stay here. We loved buying some Karoo lamb and braaing it in the kitchen fire place. They really understood the venturi effect in the 1800s when it was built; the indoor fire, local produce and exceptional gas range are a cooks dream. Not to mention the local art and beautiful old architecture. 11/10.

Beautiful location and great hospitality. This place comes as advertised if you are looking for a relaxing stay in an area where there is plenty to do. While we didn't need much during our stay, Carin was available to help with anything needed and her place is gorgeous! Would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a place just outside Franschoek!

Had a lovely stay, once again. The cottage is great as always, with great scenery and really close to town. We look forward to coming back again!

Karin and Frikkie were welcoming hosts, and the cottage is on a beautiful working farm with views across the fields. Good for anyone wanting an uncomplicated and peaceful farm-style break.

Such a wonderful, peaceful weekend. Right by the river with a lovely deck to hang out on. Spacious lawn for the young adult to play games. Very private and restful. Thank you David, we will definitely make use of Marshall Farm again.

This was one of our most favorite stays in SA. We honestly felt like home right away. It was super cozy and beautifully decorated. Simple but stunning. :) there were horses walking around the house and the beer garden next door had (unexpectedly) good burgers. We liked that the Cottage was not far from cape point nature reserve. So all in all it was a great choice and we were really enjoying our time there. Especially at night with the fire place in the living room. 🥰

Great for short stay while travelling through the Cederburg area. Not much to do apart from admiring the scenery around Citrusdal but Abre was helpful in advising where to stop for refreshment/shopping before check-in. Easy to find with instructions supplied for self-check in. Pleasant owners briefly met with my husband and were available to call upon if necessary. Good size apartment in stunning setting. Thoughtful fynbos arrangement and bowl of lemons on coffee table made us feel very welcome! Able to use braii as the sun set and relax in sitting room afterwards.

Loved every minute spent at Kim’s place. The fresh veggies received and other goodies was such a great welcome. Geraldine was available anytime for anything needed. The pizza oven is a great touch as well as the Kol Kol. Will be back soonest I hope. The house is STUNNING

Tastefully decorated, like the pages of a decor magazine has sprung to life. Chic and contemporary meets Karoo. A treasure of a spot and can highly recommend a visit here. Zelma was very helpful with recommendations on where to dine etc. and let us know within 30min that we left something behind after checking out. The only place we will stay if visiting Calitzdorp again.

Lucia’s cottage is a dream! Such an idyllic setting within the vineyard and the cottage itself is really spacious, comfortable and well-designed. We spent a week here and felt right at home! Lucia was a gracious host who let us check in early and check out late, and was super helpful and responsive in anything we needed throughout the week. Highly recommend, would absolutely love to come back and stay again!

Really wish we’d booked for longer. A beautiful, quiet oasis with phenomenal grounds, and great views. I was able to ‘power-down’ here and get some much needed rest. We couldn’t get the hot-tub fired up, which was a shame as the starry night’s would have been even more magical. Staff were really helpful and responsive when approached. They went out of their way when our car battery died - hunting down cables & removing the battery from their own car to give us a ‘jump start’. Thank you!! I’ll definitely be back.

This was our second visit to Gledsmuir and the stay matched our best expectations - again! We had a full house of 15 young and old adults (!) but the house is so spacious there was a place for everyone, whether it was to enjoy ball play or swim outside, or to find a space inside to play board games or cards, do a jigsaw puzzle or crossword, or read. The staff were unobtrusive and helpful, and magically restored the place to its pristine level throughout the day and early each morning. In particular, not having to be overly worried about washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen was a great treat for all the busy adults in our group. We had a truly relaxing and fun stay, in beautiful and comfortable surroundings. The price is on the high side but you get what you pay for, and more.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Cabin! It’s the perfect little getaway—so cute, with a stunning view, and it had absolutely everything you could possibly need. The cabin was spotless, cozy, and beautifully set up. We enjoyed the nearby 2km walk to the bird viewing point and there was also a hike right there—such a bonus for nature lovers. The hot tub was amazing, and the pool was a great spot to cool off and relax. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made everything feel easy and welcoming. And then there was Shanty—the sweetest cat ever! She came when called, loved affection, and honestly behaved more like a dog. I completely fell in love—she almost came home with me! Highly recommend this peaceful and charming spot. Can’t wait to return!

Highly recommended for any group be it families with or without kids! We were a group of 4 adults and three kids (1,4,6) and had an amazing team in the house. I'd even say the pictures dont to justice to it, as the view which ranges from Capetown over the ocean and then to vinyards and the mountains is absolutely stunning. The pool was a nice refreshments and it nicely heats up throughout the day (water is heated via tubes on the roof). The kitchen has literally everything in terms of utensils etc. Bedrooms: 2/3 bedrooms can be darkened, one will always be bright in the morning. The Masterbedroom with large bathroom and walk-in dressing room/wardrobe was absolutely amazing Host: super flexible, Blaise even organised a baby chair and bed for the little one (didnt have one before but reacted quickly to our ask); Willie as the "on-site-host" is always super helpful and flexible. We had an aircon-issue one day and he instantly took care of it; always reachable on w-app/call

Amazing stay! Host went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. Beautiful amenities and wonderfully decorated place. Spacious and fully stocked. Also had help whenever needed. Right on a winery so you can imagine how amazing the scenery is. Definitely plan to stay again and can’t wait to be back.

Place was charming, with a warm welcome from Teri. Extra touches in the house - homemade cottage cheese, olives and crackers were delicious. Great local restaurant recommendations, included booking one for us on a busy long weekend. Very grateful. Super stay.
