Cottage vacation rentals in Western Cape

It was a wonderful stay. The view is stunning and the hot tub was burning when we arrived. We had a lovely time!

A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

This is a lovely cottage with a peaceful atmosphere and fantastic mountain views. There were a couple of snags during our stay, but the hosts were quick to respond to any needs

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

Lovely stay, accommodation has everything you need. Felt right at home, it’s neat and tastefully decorated. Highlight is the hot tub which is always a win. The views were peaceful and serene. My kids loved the communal pool, hammock and playing outdoors in the front area of the house. Will definitely return!

The pictures looked beautiful but were nothing compared to the real deal! A wildebeest was strolling past the cottage on arrival, with more wildlife gathering within 5 minutes drive. We watched a stunning sunset from the lookout point and then had spent time watching the stars from the hot tub. A personalised welcome letter and gift of rusk was waiting for us on arrival, along with a file filled with information regarding nearby places to visit and information on the local wildlife. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. We could easily have spent a week there without running out of things to do and see. So grateful for the experience!

We had the most wonderful stay at Rivergate. The farm is gorgeous and peaceful and if you like these sort of environments, this place is for you. Our family enjoyed the beautiful interiors and exteriors and the hot tub was an utter hit with the kids. A highlight was the fresh breakfast basket delivered every morning. The farm has lots to enjoy from kayaks and canoes for the river, walks, flower picking and more. It was such a delight and I hope we can be back for a visit in the future. Our one negative was that we unfortunately had small bats nesting in the roof of our bedroom which disturbed us in the evenings. The Rivergate family was seeing to their removal so hopefully they won’t be a bother for anyone else. It’s a rural and beautiful setting so understandably you will share space with some creatures but this did not detract from the wonderful stay here.

We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and private. We loved the wood-fired hot tub!! The unit was clean and we loved the location.

Our stay at Jane's place was magnificent. The peacefulness was exactly what we needed. The cottage is much bigger than we thought, which was a nice surprise. Will definitely be going there again.

Zuikerboschfontein was a little slice of heaven. We had the most wonderful Easter weekend there with our dogs Toby and George - not sure who enjoyed the trip more, us or them. Martinette is a spectacular host and didn’t miss out on one step with the cottage. It was both adorable and full of all the essentials - we loved the touch of the homemade soap. Definitely have to come back soon!

We visited over the Easter Weekend, and it was a joy to be away from the busy crowds in town. The interior of the cottage is absolutely stunning and spacious. We also loved the private outside area with a braai and 3 areas to relax. Privacy from the bedroom is not great, especially with the doors open. Don't let the lack of seaviews put you off. You feel like you are on a farm, highly recommended!

I use Airbnb A LOT. I book 3 or 4 places a month & I must say, this is definitely top 5 for me! We felt right at home from the moment we checked in! Jay was a ray of sunshine. Her lovely energy makes you feel like you are meeting an old friend. She took the time to read my profile & seeing that I love plants, she gave me permission to play in her garden the whole week. This was the highlight of my stay. These 2 wholesome beings are such a lovely couple that goes above & beyond to make their guests feel welcome & taken care of! Their caretaker Mr Darlington was friendly, helpful & there whenever l needed his assistance! This home is very comfortable, safe, clean & had everything we needed. It looks even better than the pictures! The outdoor garden is so cosy. You can braai or just chill & enjoy a quiet evening! check out was ofcoz sad, l wish l could’ve stayed longer. Our whole stay was exactly what my little family needed. Would definitely recommend & we plan on staying here again!

We loved staying at Sue’s place! Was a beautiful secluded spot that made us feel like we weren’t in the hustle and bustle of season but still not a very far drive from beach, hikes, restaurants, etc. My senior dog was able to stay and had a little fenced garden for when we had to leave her at the bnb which she loved! Great spot for a family or a few friends :) Sue was also very responsive and gave clear instructions so everything went smoothly! We will definitely want to make this a regular spot we stay ✨ highly recommended x

A perfect stay for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We enjoyed the Mountain biking trails and had a wonderful meal at the local hotel. The cottage was just perfect - being spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated.

Lovely and peaceful with interior space even better than in the photographs. The unit had everything we needed and communication was clear an quick. Good location close to town but away from the crowds. As is clear from the pictures these unites are side-by-side, but they are still very private. (I guess you could have bad luck and a noisy neighbour.) Would definitely recommend.

The perfect place to stay for a getaway for any couple. Cottage is right on beach and perfect if you have pets with you. We went for our wedding anniversary and had the most amazing time and stay and would highly recommend. We will defintely be back again and this time for a longer stay. Camilla was a great hostess. I absolutely loved my stay. The farm is so scenic and peaceful. The cottage is much bigger than it looks on the photos. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. There are loads to see and do. Especially if you love birds. Beautiful and easy walking trails. Perfect to break away. The hosts are kind, helpful and passionate about the farm.

We had a great time there, very peaceful and close to all shops / beach etc. It's got everything you need to enjoy your stay.

We had such an amazing surprise when we arrived at Berry Guest Farm - Raspberry cottage. We had booked as a last minute break and due to the responsive host had just gone straight ahead without getting too much info. What a treat when we arrived with our 4 children. The farm is a child’s paradise with activities - from amazing zip lines, canoes that are free to use at any time, fishing, waterslides, warm pool, night time child friendly hikes with UV torches… the list goes on, but the plus is that the scenery and nature of the place makes it paradise for adults too. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, and a short distance from nature reserves with hikes, waterfalls, mountain trails and wildlife, well we were just spoilt for choice! We had no idea that the small airbnb we had booked offered all this and we will be sure to return with friends to book a few of the cottages and maybe even camp on the campsite. Note: the campsite was very close to the house but noise wasn’t an issue

Absolutely stunning place. Wish we had stayed longer. Such exquisite views. Comfortable, spacious, clean, quiet with lots to do nearby. Will definitely book this Airbnb again.

While we had a shorty stay, Michelle made us feel right at home. She had so many thoughtful touches that I haven't had in an Airbnb in a long time. She left a personal note and a welcome basket full of treats from her garden, and some much appreciated basics like bread/butter, honey, jam, tea, coffee, and milk. Michelle was lovely and warm, and provided such a great respite from our long travel days. The views are also incredible.

Such a cozy house in the woods — we spent a week here and totally fell in love with the place. Peaceful, beautiful - the perfect place to hide and disconnect from the world. Big thanks to Mia and Teegan, everything was great!
