Chalet vacation rentals in Southern France

If you are thinking of staying here, do it! This is an amazing home and somehow even better in person. It’s very close to the train station (we walked it with a baby and luggage and had no issue. No steep incline and mostly paved). Jacuzzi spa, sauna and laundry in the basement. Tucked away on a quiet street but right in the middle of town (next to the oldest hotel in zermatt). Marc was extremely helpful, accommodating and friendly. This spot is more of a 5 star hotel with the extra space and private amenities. We would come back in a heartbeat. Beyond impressed. There’s a reason why the reviews are all glowing.

We had a great time staying here. The views are amazing and the cabin is very cosy, very well laid out and really well equipped for cooking as well as with games, books, maps and activities for children. We visited in early June which was a great time with lots of lovely alpine flowers. Most of the walking routes were accessible although there was still quite a bit of snow on some of the higher paths in the area. Just to point out since we didn't realise, Swiss plugs are different to those in many other European countries and so you need to bring the correct adaptors if coming from outside Switzerland. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a great weekend in Céline and Mickael's little chalet! Everything was perfect: flexible check-in, very well-equipped cottage, warm hosts, peaceful setting and magnificent view, great location for discovering the region… we couldn't have dreamed better for our stay! Thank you :)

We had a great time! Iris's hosting was very warm, the accommodation very nice, cozy, quiet and perfectly located. Although the sun was not always there, Iris' precious advice allowed us to discover and fully enjoy Luchon and its surroundings. Thank you so much!

The Bergerie is a real oasis of well-being - wonderfully located in the middle of an imposing mountain landscape and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The house is superbly equipped, tastefully decorated and full of beautiful details. It's great fun to cook in this kitchen, from salad spinner to pretty dishes, everything is available. The beds and linens are excellent and the respective view from the bedrooms is wonderful. The bathroom is also very nice and overlooks the flowering garden. The outdoor area has several cozy accommodation options from hammocks to comfortable loungers. The possibilities to hike from the house or nearby are wonderful and impressive. We thank Myriam for a special week - the delicious own honey, the fresh eggs, the kindness - it was great!

9.5/10 Review for Max Chalet Gimmelwald Max Chalet was perfect for our family of three—a fantastic base for a mountain getaway! Surroundings: Gimmelwald is stunning, with hiking right outside the door. We loved the Northface Trail and the easy gondola access to Mürren, Schilthorn, and the valley. Parking at Stechelberg was only $10/day. Entertainment: Hiking was our main activity—beautiful trails and mountain huts. Pension Gimmelwald and Mountain Hostel next door offer meals, drinks, and great pizza (8.5/10). Food: Dining options nearby, more in Mürren, and a grocery store for essentials to cook at Max. The House: Spacious, cozy, clean, with big windows framing epic views. Well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, and a great patio. Quiet at night (bring a fan for white noise). Floors creak but didn’t bother us. Host: Marianne was super responsive and helpful. Summary: We’d absolutely stay again—9.5/10! (We’ve never given a 10, so this is top marks from us!)

We spent 4 nights at Bertrand's place. The accommodation matches the description in every way and the view is even more beautiful than you can imagine. In total calm, impeccably clean and with the Nordic bath as the icing on the cake, we can only recommend it. In addition, Bertrand was very accessible. We'll definitely save the address to come back if we have a chance.

Maya’s place was our idea of a getaway. You get to connect with the nature and get to experience a bit of the life of the locals. Maya was a super super host; we felt welcomed and right at home. Our stay at the landscape lodge was better than we could have imagined it! The scenery was breathtaking, the house was equipped with everything we could possibly need, and it was even more conveniently located than we’d anticipated! Abondance was a very short drive (or even walk!) away from the chalet, as were many other wonderful towns. Fran was an incredible host, providing clear instructions for all of the facilities and plenty of local recommendations on nearby activities and restaurants. Do not hesitate to book this place! It will be the best thing you do for your trip. Thank you a ton, Fran!! :)

Very nice chalet that corresponds exactly to the pictures. The hosts are very nice and did the check-in in person. The amenities are very extensive, especially in the kitchen, but also in terms of high chairs and beds. The location is good overall, but a car is almost mandatory. You usually look into the countryside and see the mountains, but a noise from the highway can also be heard. There are very few criticisms, but two that you should know: There are a lot of ants and flies in the house, probably due to a lack of sealing. In addition, there is no shading in the living area, which means that even at outside temperatures of only 20 degrees, the temperature in the living room can very quickly reach around 30 degrees (due to the many windows). Somewhat unclear how this can be handled in the summer, probably hardly feasible without air conditioning. Overall, however, we were very satisfied, the price/performance ratio is right.

Beautiful chalet located in the valley, five minutes away from the village by car and surrounded by an amazing view of the mountains! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The place was spotless when we arrived, very well equipped and as described in the listing. Odile was very friendly, helpful and responsive every time we communicated with her. We definitely recommend this place!

I can’t say enough nice things about Eric’s home! It is so close to the train station you can walk to / from with large luggage. The view is stunning, the house is pristine, and he has thought of absolutely everything and more than a guest would need. Everything is labeled and organized and I was impressed. He was so great to deal with and incredibly generous with his things (binoculars, chargers, phone, etc) I would say this is by far the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at.

Great great host and experience

Absolutely loved our stay here in the Swiss mountains. Could not ask for a more beautiful setting. While the road to the home is a touch narrow, the google maps directions took us directly there. I would recommend trying to get there in the daytime if possible, both for the views and the first time navigating the road. Once inside everything was pristine and perfectly decorated. The beds were comfortable and the space inviting with more than enough room for our family of 5 with older kids. Alexander was a kind and accommodating host with excellent communication and gave us some great recommendations on visiting Stockhorn (absolutely beautiful). If we are ever in the area again, we would not hesitate to stay with Alexander.

A perfect stay at Gabriel's. The space is designed and decorated with great taste. You can find everything you need for cooking, and the place is extremely relaxing. A large adjoining forest allows you to walk around and the terrace overlooking the pond had sun all day long. Gabrielle was particularly welcoming and accommodating. A real rare find.

Our stay at this stunning Airbnb in Iseltwald, Switzerland, was nothing short of magical! The location is breathtaking, nestled right by Lake Brienz with picture-perfect views that made every moment feel like a postcard. We had a great time at Bénédicte and Fabrice's. The place matches the photos in every way, impeccable cleanliness and super charming. The place is peaceful and the view of the mountains is ideal! Our hosts were very hospitable and available to give us tips for child-friendly visits. Our children particularly enjoyed the trampoline outside and the games available in the cottage. We totally recommend this place for family vacations surrounded by nature!
