Cottage vacation rentals in Skye

Another long stay at Forge End has come to an end for my self and work colleague. Again a big thank you to Alea for accommodating us and looking after us over the past 13 weeks and during the booking process. Forge End has been a real home from home for us and has made a long period working away from home a really enjoyable. Your home in Applecross is real find for us and if/when we are required to visit Applecross you will be our first choice every time. Thank you again from both of us.

One of the loveliest places we've ever stayed! Superb and spacious accommodation, beautifully decorated and really well & thoughtfully equipped - it will *exceed* your expectations. With the sauna and hot tub, it's not easy to drag yourself out of the house! And to top it off, the view across the loch is utterly mesmerising. Vivienne was a great host, letting us know everything we needed and leaving a lovely welcome pack. The house is in a peaceful location that is still handy for the main road and great for interesting local walks .... if you can drag yourself away! Can't recommend highly enough 😊

Absolutely loved our stay at Kinloch - grandparents, their kids, and then their kids and the dog! Such a fantastic warm cosy lodge, will definitely be back! The garden is wonderful, all fenced in, great for the dog, walk down to the loch for a swim, up to the hot tub, then firepit for marshmallows - couldn’t beat it. My favourite Air BnB yet, absolutely loved it 🥰 . Thank you 🙏

This garden cottage was straight out of a romantic fairytale! The gorgeous garden surrounding the cottage and the view of the water and misty rolling hills framed perfectly by a stone wall and ivy were just breathtaking (especially while sitting in the wood fire heated hot tub). The cottage itself was incredibly cozy. We had nearly gotten stranded on Islay with car issues and we weren’t even sure we’d get to enjoy this stop on our holiday. By the time we arrived, we were completely exhausted from the chaos of the previous 24 hours so this relaxing and welcoming space was exactly what we needed to decompress. ☺️ The cottage was well equipped and very clean! We had everything we needed and then some. Caroline was an exceptional host. She was remarkably responsive and lovely to interact with both prior to our stay (when we weren’t sure we’d be able to make it) and during our stay! Anyone with the opportunity to stay here, should absolutely do it! Thank you for everything, Caroline!!

Roskhill cottage is awesome. We spent 5 nights here and made our stay truly special. The house have everything you may need and more, the beautiful view and garden filled with flowers, the BBQ hut it’s a great plus, comfortable beds, impeccable clean, good size bathroom and shower, close to little groceries stores, delicious bakery and good coffee, Dunvegan Castle and gardens and fantastic walkings around, plus gorgeous Coos cows! Really worthy place. Highly recommended.

We had spent 5 days in the adjacent cottage and we loved it so much we decided we wanted to stay longer and managed to book another 2 days. It was so wonderful and peaceful and property is incredibly well produced. We will definitely be back!

Great location with fantastic views. The hot tub was easy to use and very nice after a long day of hiking. Beds were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

We absolutely loved our stay at Betty’s Lookout! Incredible place, with stunning views. Spent my 30th birthday here, and I couldn’t have imagined a better place. The only thing was the hot tub could have been a little bit hotter, but was still nice to soak in for a while!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful remote part of the Isle of Skye. If we were re-planning this trip I would book this place for several nights instead of just one.

Tigh Darach is a beautiful home in a glorious location. A stunning wood-frame construction built with a wonderful eye for design, light and space. Everything was good quality, eco and in the best possible taste. Not only aesthetic but also extremely comfortable! A lovely family home that they are happy to share with us via Airbnb. Alistairs cottage was brilliant, a perfect place to retreat to after a day of exploring Skye. It had everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 teens and we felt right at home.

Wir haben eine sehr schöne Woche im Ferienhaus verbracht. Wer Abgeschiedenheit und Ruhe sucht ist hier genau richtig. Das Haus ist sehr modern, schön eingerichtet und wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Unsere Hunde haben den eingezäunten Garten sehr genossen. Obwohl Hunde erlaubt sind und auch Decken für sie bereitliegen, war das Haus bei unserer Ankunft sehr sauber. Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen. Man sollte sich aber klar sein, dass es sehr abgelegen liegt. Drum herum sind zwar andere Häuser, aber kein wirklicher Ort o.Ä. Zu Fuß oder mit dem Auto erreicht man tolle Strände, richtige Wanderwege haben wir leider nicht gefunden, man geht meistens an der Straße lang oder durch Schafskoppeln (Hunde anleinen!) Für ein paar Tage Zweisamkeit und Ruhe ein Traum!

The Weather's cottage is a beautiful nest to escape to in the Highlands. There are beautiful walks around the peninsula but it is very well equipped for rainy days as well with board games and books galore. It is also well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials etc I would love to go back.

Very cozy home in Luib. There are NO restaurants nearby, either cook at home or eat before you will reach there. Wonderful view from therrace across the Loch to the opposite mountains

what a fabulous stay! we had the best time and the weather was perfect. and in such a beautiful location! we will definitely be back! very helpful owners and the cottage was absolutely gorgeous.. can't think of one single complaint! looking to book again 🤩

Alastair and Helen provided a 5 star experience for a countryside experience. The cottage was exactly as described. Cozy and comfortable, providing all the amenities required for a relaxing time away. Every attention to detail was made from cozy blankets to local tableware pottery. There was ample space for my dog to wander about and a lovely peaceful walk up through the croft. Tigh Dubh is sincerely a must stay and its accessibility to attractions is excellent. I would certainly rate this cottage as one of my favourite places

Die Unterkunft von Kenneth ist einfach traumhaft. Die Lage, die Ruhe, die Ausstattung, alles was man benötigt ist vorhanden. Wenn wir mehr Zeit gehabt hätten, wären wir länger geblieben, aber auch für 2 Nächte zahlt sich der Besuch aus.

Elizabeth’s house is a traditional house but yet equipped with a huge array of features like dishwasher and washer to keep up with our laundry needs. Toys, basketball and Netflix definitely keep my kids entertained. Most importantly is the jaw dropping view of the sheep and greenery with the Braes in the background when you look out of the window. A friendly and hospitable host who is willing to go the extra mile! 👍

Grant’s place was absolutely amazing! We loved every minute of our stay. It was the perfect base for exploring Skye and taking some time to disconnect. One night we cooked in, and another we went to the Old Inn and enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the loch, such a beautiful view! We’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!!

Our stay at The Cedars was a truly delightful experience. The cottage had a cozy, countryside charm and a peaceful atmosphere. Its distance from other buildings provided extra tranquility. There were some lovely walking trails nearby, and the cheerful company of sheep added to the charm. The amenities were excellent — we had access to everything we needed. All the instructions were so clear that we didn’t need to ask for anything else. Kind regards to our Hosts!

We had a wonderful stay at Jackie & Rob’s place! The house was incredibly spacious and bright and we spent most of our time in the beautiful sun room if we weren’t out exploring. It was a perfect place to eat, have a cup of tea, or play games. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals and it was exceptionally clean and organized. The entire house had incredible views regardless of which floor you were on! We also loved getting to watch the baby lambs next door! It was the perfect peaceful retreat to come back to each night. Jackie was absolutely lovely and attentive leading up to and during our stay! It was great knowing our stay was in such good hands. :) Uig was a fantastic location to make as home base for exploring all the beauty Skye has to offer so do not pass this place up!! Thank you again, Jackie & Rob, for a truly enjoyable stay!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was absolutely beautiful—immaculately kept, well-equipped with everything we needed and more. The location is stunning, perfect for exploring the surrounding area and Skye. Sarah Jane and Steve were lovely and always on hand if we needed anything. We truly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Six days wasn’t nearly long enough—we’d love to return. Thank you, Sarah Jane, it was perfect!

We loved our time in Josie's croft, it was so peaceful, comfortable and has the best view. The location was a great base for visiting the attractions on the island. Josie was easy to communicate with and made us feel very welcome. The heating was on for our arrival, there was some milk and chocolate left for us.

This was one of the best airbnbs I have stayed in. It was well accommodated, spacious, peaceful, and just beautiful. We had a full house at this stay and never felt cramped. I loved that each room had its own full bathroom. The kitchen was beautiful and I wish I had it in my own home. We were in walking distance to a coffee shop, grocery store, gift shop and the claymore restaurant/shellfish shack. The shellfish shack was a highlight for us. If you can it's a must eat. The windows in the bedroom has mechanical blinds that blocked out all the light, which if you visit during the spring/summer and like to sleep in darkness it's a must. The views from the living room and bedrooms were gorgeous. We caught beautiful sunsets. I would definitely stay here again and again if I could. I look forward to visiting again one day.
