Historic Highland Home on Loch Ness

Anne-MarieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Magical apartment in the old abbey. Cool building to explore. Don’t miss the graveyard. We had a 6 PM check in and had a flat tire coming up from Fort William. When I informed our host we would be delayed, she actually connected me with a tire replacement company FASTER than the rental company! So, the rental company confirmed the services right away and our delay was only 2 hours. We are SO THANKFUL to our kind host! The Boathouse restaurant has the best views, doesn’t require reservations, and was open later until everything else had closed. It’s a big issue to either have reservations (even for pizza!) or eat super early before 6 pm to get food. No local grocery store. Gas station does have fruit and vegetables. We couldn’t figure out the dryer despite the directions.

Cosy little Skye flat in great location

JordanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
A really nice accommodation in a perfect location to explore the Isle of Skye. Handy that they allow dogs since we were travelling with ours. Had everything we needed, kitchen for cooking food, washing machine for cleaning our clothes after hikes and a tv with everything set up for when we wanted to chill in the evenings. The accommodation is right on the main road so easy access to all the main places and there is a private parking space just for the guests. The only down side was the cost as it was very expensive to stay here. However, this has just fallen foul of rip off Britain and they are by no means alone in this aspect.

Pier house, Portree Harbour

SadieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Great place to stay in Portree. Beautiful view of the harbor right out the front windows. There is public parking on Quay street along the pier, and down near the dock. It is easy to get a spot in the evening if you wait for the boat tour traffic to clear out. It's very walkable to restaurants, shops and cafes. Overall, would recommend to anyone coming to the Isle of Skye!

York drive

SusanRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Linda’s place was perfect! The pictures didn’t do justice. The beds were comfortable, the shower was nice and hot and the location is super. You can walk to everything. Having a washer and dryer was a huge plus. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of dishes and utensils. There are spices, oil and a variety of supplies probably left by former guests, like pasta, some canned goods, jam, and condiments. These are so helpful when preparing meals. Parking was easy on the street.Linda was very responsive and checking in was easy. This is a terrific place. If it’s available, grab it! Highly recommend!

What a fantastic stay! The most beautiful cottage with everything we needed, even some breakfast for our first morning. The setting was magical and so many stunning walks around. We will definitely be back! Elizabeth was so kind in showing us all we needed to know and providing information about must see's in the area. We also loved little Mindy who came for cuddles :)

We enjoyed a delightful long weekend at Croft 41. The house was perfect for our needs (two families with kids), the location absolutely stunning, and the wood-fired hot tub was also real highlight! Rachel is a very friendly and communicative host. Would definitely return in the future if we were looking to stay in this beautiful corner of Skye.

Great location to explore the north of the Isle of Skye, nearby are also some restaurants and a small supermarket. The furnishings of the apartment are great, especially the dryer is very helpful. House by the sea, Fisherman's Loft

Dan and DarcyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved The Fisherman's Loft, and hope to stay there much longer next time we come to Scotland. Leo recommended we take the ferry, but since it was booked up we took the longer route from Edinburgh to the Skye Bridge. Take his advice and book the ferry early. We had a long, tense drive on A851, and arrived later than we wanted. But when we woke in the morning and looked out the window, everything was wonderful! It's right on the water, and we even had a seal basking on a rock. We explored the Sleat Peninsula the first day, then spent the next day driving around much of the Trotternish Peninsula. I wish we had booked another couple nights so we could have spent a day at the Fisherman's Loft, and another day exploring more of the Sleat Peninsula. It's an incredible place. I was able to book the ferry for our return, and we loved the experience, even on a windy day. The Fisherman's Loft is somewhat isolated from the busy Isle of Skye, and that's its charm. Highly recommended!

Head In The Skye - Dramatic Sea View at Healabhal

DhruvRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Excellent property at an excellent location. Every corner has a story to tell and shows how intricately the host has been involved in ensuring a great stay for us. The AGA cooker and the view of the lake is the highlight. Note - due to a personal emergency with our baby’s health we were faced with a delay in checking out. Both Olivia and the turndown service people mutually helped us in allowing us to use a certain space till they cleaned the property for the next guests. Kudos to Olivia and team for accommodating this.

Harbour House, wonderful accommodation on the quay

ErinRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great house, lots of room for our family of 5 plus a toddler. Kitchen was well appointed, as were bathrooms and bedrooms. Location is so pretty, right on the water with gorgeous views. However, If privacy is an issue for you, the location is challenging, as their was constant pedestrian traffic right in front of the house. Because of where it is located, people walk down the street to take pictures of the adjacent harbor view. People were even taking pictures of the front of the home and the flowers in the front beds. So when we would sit out at the picnic table to eat or have our morning coffee, literally groups of on lookers were hovering in the parking space area. Unless you make reservations well ahead of your stay, you will have a hard time finding a place to eat. The town is charming, with cute shops. We did enjoy donuts/bread from a local bakery that was just a short walk from house. And its a great location as a home base for many "walks" that were stunning. All-in-all great!

Larchwood Lodge on the Shore of Loch Long, Dornie

MariaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This is the second time we have stayed at this property, and that speaks for itself. The location is stunning and as the downstairs has a lot of glass, it really capitalises on the loch side location. In addition to the stunning views from the property the location is ideally placed for access to Skye, Rasaay island , the Applecross peninsula and much more. In terms of comfort, the property is very comfortable and well equipped. We will be back!

Unique, historic home at Strathcarron, near Skye

SueRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I think our favourite stay ever. We cannot praise this apartment enough. Rupert and Lins ability to have converted this old station and filled it with unusual artefacts and pictures made it a joy to stay in. The decor and furnishings were beautiful in every instance. Everything had been so carefully thought out. The kitchen was very well stocked with high quality equipment which made cooking our meals easy. The beds were beautifully comfortable and the bathrooms spotless. The gifts of beers and Lins home made jam were a lovely addition and most thoughtful. Our only grumble.... why on earth didnt we book a week instead of 3 nights? Oh well, there's always next time!!!!

We loved Mary Flora’s place - it was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Mary Flora was so lovely and provided us wonderful hospitality. We used the kitchen a lot and loved the stainless steel cookware. We really appreciated that the cookware was great quality. The bed was so comfortable. The shower had great pressure and was hot immediately. Thank you Mary Flora. I would recommend her place to everyone and would stay here again if we come back to Skye.
