Having stayed in Carlinville many times this has been one of my favorite places. Beds were comfortable and generous. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The location was very convenient to the train station and the square, close enough that I could easily walk down and get coffee in the morning. It is on a relatively busy street (for Carlinville) and you can hear the train. This is not something that bothered me and I had no issues sleeping. Would definitely consider for the next time I'm in town.

Cozy Chicken Cottage

Emma's cottage was beautiful and exactly as described. We found it to be charming and felt like "home" She provided some soda/pop, water and light snacks. The outside area was amazing, lovely seating areas. The chickens are are pretty cool and the pigs Corona and Modelo are adorable. Emma stopped outside while we were walking around and let us know that if you say their names they come out of the barn. Truly enjoyed our 1 night stay and already looking forward to a future visit.

We Really enjoyed our stay! We travel a lot and I was so happy with Charles’ home. The bathroom floor is heated! (Amazing) the old vintage home feel was so comfy.

Overall, our stay was good. Some minor items - it didn't have room darkening curtains, so it was very bright in the morning. The bathroom door was very squeaky, but when we brought it to Lindsey's attention, she left some a lubricant and we were able to apply it and get rid of the squeak. The entrance door sticks against the frame near the top and creates a loud 'bang' when opening and closing. It was well lit when we got home late and the area seemed safe.
