Grand Opened a Luxury Hostel in Gion, Kyoto. Tsukimi hotel is a excellent place to stay with a wonderful welcome from front of house. The environment is clean and spacious with attention to detail on the luxuries in travel life. Close to the beautiful traditional streets of Gion and surrounding shrines. Mattresses are from Serta: comfortable! Perfectly relaxing at 1st floor!

This place is just perfect for a trip away from Kyoto! The hostel is so tidy and clean and comfy. We received an immediate message upon booking to confirm our plans with check-in details. The staff were very sweet, helpful, and friendly and this was an excellent location in a quieter part of the city – across the river and away from the crowds and perfect to still get to be in Arashiyama. The hostel is walkable to the onsen and provides a couple for a discount for entry!

We've really enjoyed staying at Chie's place! We were given the Tatami Garden room, which is spacious for a couple and has a nice view to a garden and a small seating area. The place was apotless and the futon + mattress very comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was truly helpful, they even lent us their bike for most of our stay. We enjpyed the slightly remote location, as opposed to the tourist-packed centric location. Please note that renting a bike when staying here is recommended. Thank you Chie and the staff! Looking forward to staying in your place again on our next trip to Kyoto!

Our stay in Kyoto was absolutely wonderful. The home was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully designed with a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Japanese style. Located in a quiet neighborhood, yet with easy access to buses and close to key attractions like Kinkaku-ji, Arashiyama, and Gion. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The host was attentive and kind, making everything smooth and easy. We would absolutely stay here again — a truly memorable Kyoto experience!

Our stay at Yumeji’s was everything we’d hoped for and more! It was off the beaten path and the older style architecture of the home and surrounding area felt like you’d stepped into a different world. The homemade bread (delicious), the wonderful recommendations (definitely check out the wagyu steak restaurant) and the cozy floorbeds (don’t knock them until you try them!), made our stay there so special. If I ever return to Kyoto, I know where I’m staying!
