Townhome vacation rentals in Shiga

Thanks to Natalie for being such a great host and sharing her lovely home, which provided a great base for exploring Kyoto.

The traditional house has a unique roof architecture with beams made from real tree trunks. They can be seen from the level 2 bedroom. The house has modern amenities w mattresses on floor as beds. One other bedroom, toilet and bathroom are all on level 1. We enjoyed our stay there for 5 nights, especially so when supermarkets are nearby.

A very warm and welcoming host, he made us feel right at home. The house itself was very cozy!! Additionally, it was very clean and had everything we needed :) very good location as it was near many yummy restaurants and close to the station which took us right into the city.

This is a beautiful old house in the best area of Kyoto. Beds and pillows were comfortable. I will come again if im in the area.

Very beautiful and clean accomodation. We were a group of five and were able to just fit all of our luggages in. The inclusion of a second shower and second toilet was much appreciated. The Wi-Fi network was also very fast which we loved because some of us had to do work online while on holiday. Flexible check-in was greatly appreciated. I am glad we stayed here and would love to come back again.

We had a lovely time at Miro’s bnb. The house was beautiful and had a traditional Japanese feel, perfect for a trip to Kyoto. The house is in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, though still close enough to walk to local attractions. I would highly consider booking here again.

One of the best airbnb I ever stayed.

The hosts are very attentive, showed us around at the check in and visiting places. They even showed us where to park by driving us to the parking area. They provided great amenities . Room is clean and neat. Will definitely come back when we travel to Kyoto again.

We had a wonderful experience staying here! We walked mostly everywhere, but the bus and trains were very convenient. The house was very comfortable, beds and pillows/comforters were really nice. The instructions were very thorough. We used the washing machine to cleaned our clothes and there was a small dryer which is unusual for an Airbnb in Asia. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely one of the nicer places we’ve stayed in. The steps upstairs are a little narrow, only if you have someone with problems climbing would I say it may be a problem. For us no issue.

Beautiful traditional Japanese family home with all the necessary amenities. Clean, spacious (for Japan standards), and the bathrooms are nice and modern.

The guest house itself was a little hard to find, but conveniently close to bus stops and the Shichijio subway station. The host was incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions we had.

One word: AMAZING It’s a traditional Japanese house with modern touch. They have tatami room with sliding doors, small garden to enlighten your spirit during your cozy afternoon warm bath and also complete dry kitchen stuff (they have musical microwave 😁😁). What an experience 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Also walking distance to ninenzaka/sanenzaka The host is very responsive and very helpful during our stay (they give us a large bottle of water BTW 😆, thank you)

Lovely stay with a large group. We all had plenty of space and felt right at home! Great location - walkable to so many sights and in a super quiet neighborhood. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

This was our favorite place we stayed in Japan. It was larger than expected inside with a dining table and two spaces for tea. The sleeping area was also spacious and relaxing with shoji screens on all the windows. The neighborhood is very quiet and private with a nice stone path inside the gate. It's a 5 minute walk to Kyomizu-dera template, and 20 minutes to Gion. Walking back at night through the side streets is especially pleasant compared to staying in a hotel downtown.

There was a little difficulty when checking in, the key box could not be opened according to the google address, and then walked a hundred meters to find the correct house.The reason for choosing this home is because the decoration style is particularly in line with my aesthetic and is actually exactly as pictured.The lack of the United States is that there are a lot of huge ants indoors, and I hope it can be improved.The surroundings are quiet, suitable for people who do not sleep well, there are convenience stores and supermarkets just a few tens of meters away.

I was impressed by the attention to detail and the beauty of the place. The pleasant scents throughout the house added a refined touch to the atmosphere. Bathing and relaxing in the tub while looking out at the zen rock garden was truly indescribable. Sleeping on the futon bed was incredibly comfortable. There were clear instructions for everything in the house, and tea, kitchen essentials, and utensils were all fully provided. The place was extremely clean, well-organized, and exceeded my expectations. There was underfloor heating in the tatami area and kitchen, as well as air conditioning and heating in every room. I really appreciated having a vending machine and a LUUP scooter right next to the house, which made getting around easy. The host was very helpful and provided all the assistance I asked for, and I’m truly grateful for that. I highly recommend staying at this machiya, and if I ever visit Kyoto again, I’ll definitely spend my nights here. It was a wonderful experience that

We had a great stay! The place was clean, peaceful, and centrally located—super easy to get around. It had a lovely local vibe, and Karen was very helpful and communicative throughout. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay. The place was perfect for our family of three. It was a beautiful, modern space, with a lovely view of the creek. We were also very fortunate to be there when the cherry tree off the patio was blooming. The location was perfect and close to many restaurants and the Gion district. I couldn't imagine a better place for our first visit to Kyoto.

This was an amazing place to stay and more spacious than I had thought. We were a party of 5 and fit just fine. The only thing I would say is that the ladder to go up the tatami area was a bit hard to climb, you have to be small, light and somehow skilled to climb. Was not an isse for us though as my son and husband stayed up there. I would also recommend looking very close to arrival directions because gps got us lost and a very kind woman from a shop nearby ended up showing us the way. We got to Kyoto and it was raining so it was kind of a hassle to get there after a long ride from Tokyo. The place is on an alley and that’s why it was a bit hard to find the first time. Also, as Jun suggested, easiest way to get to the place is by bus. Other than that the place is amazing and very modern but with a traditional japanese vibe. We really enjoyed the stay.
