What an amazing place to stay! You step back in time. The house looks full of history and has a small garden and outdoor tub! Koji and Eri are great hosts, friendly, responsive and welcoming. They have a lot of recommendations about the area. Just keep in mind that there are steep steps to the second floor and also if you’re very tall there is a possibility of head bumping :) The area itself is very convenient and we walked to many places of interest. Can recommend this property to any adventurous traveler!

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

The house offers an authentic experience of a traditional Japanese home. Spacious, has spaces for guest room, living room, kitchen, bedroom, storage, dressing and a cute little backyard. Loved the bathroom amenities and enjoyed the bathing tub. The hosts were very kind and waited for us to arrive. They welcomed us in and walked us through all the amenities and operations in the house. They also showed us bus routes to all the popular Kyoto spots laid out on a map. They even provided a bike for our grocery runs etc. Everything we ended up needing was in the house, like umbrellas, full-length mirror, extra stools, washer-dryer. The backyard is smoking-friendly. Overall, very happy that we decided to stay at this property.

The Host was particularly enthusiastic, the room introduction and the surrounding introduction were very detailed, and the response to questions was fast, There are also plenty of rooms, four rooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets. Also prepared oranges and especially delicious croissants, really emotional value, thank you ~

Place is very spacious, very clean and good air conditioner. Very comfortable bedding. Shower is plenty big. If you are 6ft or over you’ll need to occasionally duck but tat all over Japan. It’s definitely not a problem. Way better than staying in a hotel as I could sneak downstairs as I am always up before my family and could get work done before activities. Cabs and Ubers go right by, 7-11 is baseball throw away and an excellent I Indian restaurant on the corner. If you have a kid who wants McDonald’s it’s right there too. You’ll have to take a cab or Uber unless you want to walk 20 minutes to things but as I said they are readily available and only cost $10. Highly recommend super spacious and I felt a much better option for us than a small hotel room. Also it had a good washer for clothes.

Although the price is a bit high, it’s still fair compared to others — and you get a full two-story house with bathrooms on both floors, a soaking tub, and a nice spacious living area. It fits six people (we were five). Coin parking in front is very convenient for drivers. Everything was very clean, with very very thoughtful amenities like toothbrushes, razors, and quality shampoo and conditioner. The house is beautiful — just like the photos, or even better. We loved our one-night stay. The host even offers champagne if you follow their social media. Minor downsides: the handrail on the stairs felt loose, so elderly guests might prefer staying on the ground floor (with futons). The A/C was tricky to adjust and didn’t cool at first — possibly a setting issue. The host was very responsive and kind. Location is close to the station and a convenience store. Walking to the shopping street takes a too long but you can use subway. Absolutely love it. Very recommend!!

We had a good stay. Mineral noise since it was in a residential area. Walkable to public transit and Nishiki Market. AC was very good. Washer and dryer worked well for small loads.

Totally recommend staying here. It’s at a great location. Right in front of a 711 and right next to a really good restaurant. Mio is a very nice person. Thank you for the stay we loved it

We had a lovely stay at Mulans house. You can reach central Kyoto within 30 minutes. Mulan was very helpful and we highly recommend this place!

This house is lovely awesome and perfectly clean. Our stay was wonderful and more worth the price. The private onsen inside the tiny Japanese garden is beautiful. The location is very quiet, near the river and less 5 minutes by walk from the station and konbini. Everything you need is provided inside the house, so you don’t have to worry about

Great host with quick responses! Asked them if they have infant chairs, and they actually ordered one online for me and got it delivered the next day! Walking distance to family mart, supermarket, and restaurant. Thanks for having us

Perfect stay in a silent part of Gion District. Very cosy and not only a 15min walk to the Yasaka Pagoda

This listing was an absolute dream come true. It’s very spacious, cozy, well-stocked with towels, linens, etc. Our host so kindly let us check-in a bit early and was so sweet and accommodating. The bathrooms and showers were so clean and had cool features. This was a wonderful stay and we really appreciated how close this listing is to various tourist spots and shopping areas like Fushimi Inari Taisha, LoFt, Nishiki Market, etc. Many places are easily accessible by train or walking. Overall we cannot rave about this Airbnb enough and we thank the host so much for her hospitality! :)

Highly recommend! Place felt like home - clean, spacious for a large group, laundry detergent, shampoo etc. Quiet neighborhood and a great walking path about 10 mins away. Only 5 mins from train as well as a nice mall with great supermarket. Host helped us with our luggage transfer. Enjoyed meeting Sao's husband and son! Thank you for a great time in Kyoto and for sharing your beautiful home!

Wonderful arcade setting with great shops & restaurants, and easy canal-side walking to Gion and Kiyomizudera. Great public transport at top end of arcade to other parts of the city. Highly recommended!

An excellent place to stay, 3 minutes walkable distance from station. But the neighbor will knock at your door if speak loud which we think it’s normal volume. Anyhow, it’s recommended

They accommodated us checking in close to 23: 00.It was my first time using Airbnb, but the instructions were easy to understand. I didn't use it this time, but there is also a washing machine, so it seems easy to stay for a long time. The location was also convenient (bus stop nearby, Lawson also nearby), which was helpful. Of course, there are many places within walking distance, such as Kyoho and Chishakuin. I want to go slowly this time!

This was a really charming home. We loved how easy it was to walk to may of the locations we planned to visit. The house was clean and in a nice quiet and private location. Would recommend!
