The house was very cute, clean and a great space for our family. We loved the balcony overlooking the stream; it was a beautiful space to sit and drink coffee/relax. The surrounding area was close to restaurants and shops. It was a little difficult to find at first because taxis cannot drive to the front door and you will have to walk through a small street or along the stream to locate the front door. However, once we found the front door everything went smoothly. We would highly recommended this place to a small family!

YoYo’s place is the perfect choice for anyone visiting Omihachiman. The house is spacious, comfortable, and located in a peaceful neighborhood, close to all the main sightseeing spots. YoYo has thoughtfully prepared everything with great care — you’ll notice it the moment you walk in. Highly recommended!

Haru San was a wonderfully warm host. From receiving and dropping me back at Shigaraki station to driving me to the Cultural park and the Maruni tool shop she was most helpful and prompt in her responses. The place is very beautiful and green and surrounded by rice fileds, hills and forests. Would love to go back in the future.

We had a wonderful time here. The house was spacious, clean, and had a view of the river with Sakura trees. It was in Gion with a number of restaurants, train stations, and other stores in walkable distance. I hope to stay here again next time my family comes to Kyoto!

May was terrific. If you want to live like a local in a high-end apartment, this place is it. Beautifully decorated. No shoes. Proper heated bathtub. 4 floor walkup. Not a place for big suitcases as staircase is very narrow by USA standards but spacious in the rooms with large closets. The tatami bedroom is lovely. But for those who want a western bed, the 2 small singles with very firm mattresses are an alternative.

Comfortable apartment with a super roof terrace (but two floors higher). Breakfast on the terrace every day. Wonderful overview of the city. Sumi was very informative and even took us to the station. Recommended to do: rent bicycles at Cycle Garden (is around the corner) and cycle along the rivers.

It was a great stay! Beautiful view from the window, but it is obstructed by an electric pole. A bit dark to go up our room during night time, but it was safe!

One of the best stays I’ve ever had. Sumi is the best host you could possibly ask for! And the apartment is in a terrific area. A quiet street next to rows of small, wonderful restraints — and only a stone’s throw from the heart of the city. Do yourself a favor and stay here when you’re next in Kyoto!

This is one of the best host I have ever had. Thank you Sumi for your help with our stay in Kioto! The flat was perfect for us, couple, spacious and equipped, in interesting area. Additional plus for terrace with a view on city. Sumi recommend us some places where we could find local specialities. She also drop us off us to station. Full recommendation!

It was also a great way to experience a more local and authentic side of Kyoto. This is an excellent place to stay with a comfortable bed and thoughtful furnishings. Sumi is an excellent host who provides so much useful information and is always willing to help. She even dropped me at Kyoto station after I checked out. I loved the view from the window and the fact that this place is in a quiet neighbourhood but close by to many amenities and restaurants. Perfect host and stay.

This was our fifth visit to Kyoto and this was my most favorite accommodation. While this is a small studio apartment so many things stood out to make this such a spectacular stay. Sandwiched between the canal and the Kamo river, you can enjoy views of the river at dawn or sunset or step out to tree lined canals. The apartment is well appointed with everything you’d need for a short stay, from cooking yourself a simple meal to doing laundry. I enjoyed being able to step out quickly to explore, shop, or grab a bite experiencing the energy and noise of the city, but be able to quickly dip back into the quiet and peace of the neighborhood and apartment. Finally, Ken was such a responsive and kind host. I’d love to come back.

5 star to everything! the host, the unit, the location, the communication etc. The unit is spacious enough for four adults, it is clean, quite, We found it to be an easy walk to downtown anywhere. The host is very responsive, communicated well before making the check-in process and stay very smoothy. If we could come again to kyoto we will definitely stay May’s unit ! Thank you May!
