I've stayed in many shepherds huts and other off grid places, this place is the most beautiful I've ever stayed. My partner and I had a wonderful few days, and we didn't want to leave. Paul and Maggie are so lovely and friendly, they couldn't do enough for us. I recommend this enchanting place so much, it's truly magical. We look forward to returning as soon as we can! ❤️

Lovely little place, perfect for a get away break. The hottub was great to relax in. The goats are gorgeous and so friendly. The family dog was a welcome visitor. Amazing to sit and listen to the birds and look at the beautiful scenery.

We really enjoyed our stay - the pod was comfortable and well equipped, and onsite management team were friendly and helpful. Beautiful location, very quiet; and lots of things to do in the local area. I suspect we will return in the future!

Mariners is a lovely beach house, fairly cosy size but plenty big enough for 2 adults, 2 teenage children and a golden retriever. Only a few minutes down to a lovely huge beach. Would certainly visit again.

This ultra clean accommodation is a good base for the attractions of Durham and Beamish historical park. The flat is comfortable and as warm as you need. Great shower. Good kitchen and sitting area. Private area outside. Walking into town isn’t a problem. Walking back it is advisable to use a taxi. Uber was very quick to respond. We would go again!

We had an absolutely beautiful stay at Maxine's place. We felt really welcome and our children loved the hens, geese, sheep and horses in their garden! It has everything that you'd need for a comfortable stay. Jennie the whippet was so playful and we loved meeting all of the animals. There is a trampoline and a swing in the garden that the children were invited to play on. Such a fantastic, comfortable, cosy and unique place to stay and we can't wait to be back! Lovely little place for our mini getaway. Set in gorgeous and private location, we even had the pleasure of seeing deer, rabbits, ducks and the farm dogs during our stay. The toilet was a little different than we are use to but did not impact our stay. Would recommend.

Lovely stay. Just as described. Cosy bed and powerful shower! The garden is beautiful and Denise was happy for our dog Kaiser to run around. We enjoyed the Prosecco and breakfast in the sunshine

Fantastic stay at this wonderful country cabin! So much more spacious than we expected, with the added luxury of a hot tub and BBQ facilities. The big garden and onsite parking were greatly appreciated. A truly lovely location and fantastic host. Would highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! As a couple and large dog, we felt very secure and relaxed. The wood fired hot tub was fantastic, and the edition’s sauna was a fantastic bonus. Lots of great walking routes within a short drive away, too. The finishing touches like the welcome paper a guidebook show real care and consideration for their guests. We’d love to come back!

A lovely place to stay for the night with the kids! Quirky and fun with the fire in the middle of the hut for cooking and to keep the place warm overnight. A real novelty for our two young children. Plenty of extra blankets and roll mats provided which I would recommend using to make the beds (benches) more comfortable. Beautiful views! We enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

The Potting Shed was a perfect cosy place to rest between a busy weekend — a beautiful, peaceful spot. Our host was so helpful and friendly. And big shout outs to Mabel the dog & Javier the tortoise! Thanks for having us 💜

We had an amazing weekend at the Barn Owl Shepherds Hut. It was in a very private location with beautiful views. The accommodation had everything we needed. It felt very luxurious with added extras like the welcome hamper and hot tub making it extra special. It was the perfect setting for a marriage proposal (she said 'Yes'!).

Stunning cabin on a working farm with fab view and walking.

This place is a little hidden gem. It's so relaxing and peaceful. The beds were so comfortable and the place was beautiful. Showering outside was an experience. The garden area was beautiful and fenced off so my dog could run around freely and my young son. On a night it looked beautiful all lit up. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend to others. We would love to come again for another stay. Wish check out was later as the beds were so comfortable we didn't want to leave 😊

We loved every minute of our stay in the Shepherds Hut. Very private with beautiful views, with the Highland Coos, Swiss Valais Sheep + Goats just a couple of fences away. Facilities are more than adequate, everything you need is just a couple of feet away. Log Burner + Hot Tub were both amazing and relaxing. Cat + Andy as hosts are perfect. Couldn't ask for anything more. So friendly + responsive via text or phone, and attended to our every need. An absolute must stay for anyone needing a quiet getaway, and especially for Highland Coo lovers. 5 star *****
