Places to stay in San Gimignano

We had a wonderful stay at pierre luigis home. It looks just like the pictures and is a very homey, relaxing place to stay. Has everything you need on hand. We loved the porch and its view and enjoyed the o of the hot tub. Great location to explore surrounding towns! Had a great time!

Wow-10 days spent at Alec's villa and could have stayed longer! The age and beauty of this place makes you feel transported back in time. From the stone walls, the detailed wall paintings, furniture and decor, to the solid doors easily hundreds of years old... We spent hours just speaking of it's history. The house is clean, spacious, and had plenty of room for our family of 8. It is situated on a small family vineyard at the top of an incredibly windey road. There outdoor space was safe/secluded for my kids. The hill made for wonderful beautiful views and sunrise. However, as with much of Tuscany, we were glad our rental cars weren't too big! The closest town is 5 minutes away and has a few restaurants... Though not somewhere you can have coffee or walk the streets. About 15 minutes away is San Casciano where you can find coffee shops, restaurants, stores etc. Alec is a perfect host... helpful, responsive, and answered dozens of questions weekly. Book dinner at A Casa Mia for sure!

Die herrliche Aussicht kann man sowohl als Paar, als auch mit Freund*innen wunderbar genießen. Es ist sehr ruhig und an allem gedacht worden: draußen gibt es sehr bequeme Sitzmöglichkeiten, einen Grill und Pool. Im Garten duftet es überall nach Jasmin. Auch innen fehlt an nichts. Das Haus ist perfekt und befindet sich am perfekten Ort. Nach 20 Minuten Autofahrt erreicht man San Gimignano. Einfach ein Traum und immer wieder eine Reise wert 😍

Giuliani is a wonderful host who made us feel as if this slice of paradise was our home, too. The location, the meticulously restored home, the views all make for the ultimate Tuscan experience. But Giuliani and her husband bring it all together with their warmth and attentiveness. It was a tough place to say goodbye to — for now. If you are looking for a Tuscan experience, this is it. And remember to ask for the hosts’ home-cooked meal. It is a culinary experience in the very best sense.

Incredible! We had such an amazing time staying here. Charly & Ann have done it up so beautifully. The views are incredible and it’s so peaceful. Leonardo, Lisa, & Nonna Sylvana all went the extra mile to make things run smoothly for us. With the welcoming torta & pizza, & the homemade lasagna a few days later, we were able to get by with very few groceries for the week. The villa & surroundings are incredible! The house is immaculate & well supplied. We didn't have a car but having one would have been nice to reach the surrounding area. We navigated the bus system that is available & it took us awhile to figure it out, but once learned, we were able to get to & from Florence. We walked to & from Impruneta which was further away than we realized. It's a bit tricky with no sidewalks, so we had to be careful. (Note: No taxis were available.) We splurged on a winery tour through Tours of Tuscany that picked us up & dropped us off at the villa, & drove us to 2 different wineries & San Gimignano. Amazing! Communication with our host was easy, very pleasant, & timely. We'd love to return & spend even more time there some day.

We had a fabulous stay at the Villa. Laura was so responsive and handled all our needs. She pre booked all our events and was there to greet us when we arrived. We loved the views and kids enjoyed the pool. The wine tasting on property is a must and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner they prepared for us at the villa. I highly recommend this beautiful spot. Sitting in the patio overlooking the Tuscan countryside was one of the highlights of our vacation. Thanks to Alessandro and his team. We hope to visit again someday!

Davide and Annalisa's cottage was absolutely gorgeous, exactly as the pictures showed. It was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy our last week in Italy. Breakfast out on the patio with the birds chirping and surrounded by nature was a great way to start the day. Davide lit the heater for the hot tub for us and we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening relaxing. Davide and Annalisa were full of good recommendations for restaurants and local places to visit. The cottage is within driving distance of so much - Pisa, Florence, Siena and of course San Gimignano just to name a few. All the amenities we needed were included, the WIFI was great and the cottage was very comfortable. I would highly recommended staying here and if we are ever in the vicinity we would certainly stay here again.

Couldn't be happier with our stay at the. beautiful apartment in a great location in the middle of San Gimignano. Veronica met us at check in despite being later than anticipated. Was also very quick to respond to queries including helping us when we locked ourselves out of the apartment. Easy 5 stars

Giovanni and his family were super helpful and their place is great. It's perfect for people who want to be far from the city but still have a lot of options for visiting the beautiful cities around. You can see Florence, Volterra, San Gimignano and much more, all in less than one hour of a drive. The place was perfectly clean and you have everything you need. The bed was also good, we slept like babies. Can only recommend!

Casa Milena was an absolute gem! The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the historic center of San Gimignano, yet peaceful and quiet enough to relax and unwind. The apartment is spotless, beautifully maintained, and full of Tuscan charm, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. Cristina was a wonderful host—warm, welcoming, and quick to respond to any questions. Waking up to the view of the rolling hills and sipping coffee on the balcony and terrace felt like a dream. Whether you’re visiting for the food, the history, or just to soak in the beauty of Tuscany, this is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommend and would absolutely return!

This property exceeded our expectations with spectacular views and peaceful, natural surroundings! The host was friendly and responsive. The proximity to San Gimignano and other Tuscan destinations was convenient. Each day felt magical! Just sitting on the patio was amazing! An unforgettable destination and experience!

Tutto era perfetto, dalla casa fino alla nostra ospita, Elisa, che ha sistemato tutto per noi e con cui la comunicazione è stata molto facile dall'inizio. Raccommando la casa di Elio a tutti coloro che vogliono visitare San Gimignano e questa parte della Toscana.

We stayed at Patrizia’s home in SG for a month & it was perfect! The walk into the town was right up the street. We went at least once a day for meals & just to explore. You can turn down any block & find something new. We never tired of it. The location was also convenient for side trips. We went to Florence, Lucca & Modena on weekends which we loved, but were always glad to come back ‘home’ to SG. When not exploring, my husband helped out a The Montese Cooking Experience where he became friends with the Chef on our last visit to Tuscany. If you have the time on your trip, I would highly recommend taking the class. It’s knowledgeable as well as entertaining, and of course great food!! This is what brought us to SG for the month & we will definitely be back for more time at Montese & the town. We would also stay at Patrizia’s home again. It was spotless, well equipped with lots of special ‘extras’ plus had enough space for us to unpack and settle in comfortably.

We cannot say enough about how fantastic our stay was. Maybe the most gorgeous property we’ve ever seen - even better than the pictures! Pia was incredibly helpful, sent us a whole printout of recommendations for different restaurants, wineries, and things to do. She is incredibly kind, responsive, and proactive - she thought of everything you may need during your stay and gave us a tour of our home. Waking up in the Tuscan countryside and watching the sun rise over the vineyards was relaxing and beautiful. The sunsets were breathtaking to see over the rolling hills in Chianti. Castellina was a cute little town with fantastic places to eat and panoramic views of the valley. And on top of all that, we made a new friend in the Public Relations Manager, Teo - you can be sure you’ll be greeted with a wagging tail and a happy little smile. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!
