Lovely little Shepard’s hut, perfect for a couples get away. Stunning views, the host pre lit the wood fire hot tub so on arrival it was ready, so relaxing on an evening. Also very close to tomahawk steak house, for a nice evening meal. Very chilled weekend away, would definitely come back.

Lovely cottage, very thoughtful extras to make us welcome (awesome lemon drizzle cake!) Lots of maps and leaflets about local places worth visiting. Beautiful place to walk the dogs. Very friendly pub just down the road. Very enjoyable stay, thank you ☺️

Stayed with my friends for a night and place was lovely. Just right for what we needed. Hot tub was a good size and good outdoor seating. Decor was lovely and quirky, gave off a really nice cottage and rustic feel

Wow what a beautiful little find. The surroundings are just as beautiful as the place. Attention to detail with this property, felt like home from home. We enjoyed the real fire, the bedding was lush and the bath was to die for 🥰

This was the perfect place for a peaceful weekend retreat. With no TV to distract me and gorgeous countryside full of daffodils and signs of spring to enjoy, it was just what I needed to be restored. Gaynor was helpful with recommendations, and the walks were beautiful from the front door. The fresh bread was delicious from the bakery next door and the bookcase had some wonderful books to dip into. I will be recommending it to my friends.

Great place to stay if you're spending a few days in County Durham, or the Yorks Dales (Tan Hill inn is 30 mins drive away). Very friendly town - the nearest supermarket is a Co-op just up the road, and a bit further on, there is a large Morrisons. The antique shops down 'The Bank' are a must - we bought a few very competitively-priced items. We made use of the 2 hour temporary parking outside the flat on the cobbles when arriving and leaving. The rest of the time we parked in a small long-stay car park 5 mins walk away - cost £1.60-ish per day. We liked the swivel chair in the lounge and the furniture in the large bedroom - the dishwasher, microwave, and cooker all worked well. Note the heating times/temperature are preset by Joan - she willingly turned the heating up for us so we were warm enough.
