Places to stay in Beaver Bay

Places to stay in Beaver Bay
I am located at the end of a dead end road, surrounded by pines and some birch in the center of a 4 acre lot in Beaver Bay MN. There is partial lake view from the studio windows which is on the 2nd floor of a detached garage. Very quiet on my property as there is no drive by traffic and it is secluded from the rest of the block. If you're traveling to visit the sights and explore on the North Shore and need a place to wind down, sleep at the end of the day this is the place to be!
Enjoy this unique setting, as you enter through the man door on the garage you'll notice the nice man cave, this area of the building is not private, but guests are welcome to hang out, socialize, cook, etc. Through another door inside you will enter a stairwell leading up to the second floor studio which is private and all yours to enjoy while staying here. Partial lake view from front windows! One bedroom with a double bed, a 3/4 private bathroom with a giant great room that has an additional queen bed. TV and WiFi, TV entertainment via internet for apps like NETFLIX, DVD player, mini fridge, and microwave for you to use. The whole upper floor is private and yours while you enjoy your stay. It is roughly 890sqft. There is ample parking for trailers in my driveway/parking lot. Below the Studio exists the Man Cave. There is a gas range/oven and full sized fridge to use with a tub style sink, some basic cookware is supplied for the apartment. I’ve also now added silverware, plates, bowls, various utensils, and a cutlery set for your convenience. Please wash any items you use and return them to storage before checking out. The shop is heated, sledders may thaw out their gear and sleds there. Sleds must have wheel dolly's for skis! There is direct access to the snowmobile trail from my property as well. Other nearby attractions are the bike trail, Superior hiking trail, local bars, restaurants, and gas stations all within walking/biking distance. Explore the Northshore!
Beaver Bay is a unique little town on the North Shore with its many restaurants, gift shops, and nearby state parks. You can enjoy the Northshore bike trail, Superior hiking trail, Beaver River waterfalls and beach down by the lake which is all close by! If you're a motorsport fanatic like myself you'll love leaving from the doorstep on your wheeler or snowmobile and have direct private access to the Beaver Bay spur trail. From there you can ride to all over northeastern MN. My property will give you a secluded feeling, while still being on city services. It is at the center of 4 acres owned by myself. If peace and quiet are what you wish to have this is a great place for that as well.
  • Clean, quiet, and spacious!

  • Nice place, only stayed one night on a two day Snowmobile trip. You can access the trail right from Andy’s property so that was convenient. The place is exactly as described and pictured. Andy was very friendly and accommodating. Would stay here again.

    Stacy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, his family and friends rated this space and said it was a great experience! Thanks Andy!

    Briana2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • great spot, easy to get in and out. The place is modern and clean. felt more comfortable than a 4 star hotel.

    Jonathan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Andy's place is cozy, clean, spacious, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed! We spent most of the weekend driving up and down the North Shore; this location is ideal for that.

    Jake2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely recommend! What a beautiful space. Andy and his pup are excellent hosts!

    Nikki2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Andy's place was clean, comfortable, and well-located. Approximately 10-15 minutes south to Split Rock and Gooseberry Falls, and 10 minutes north to Black Beach, Palisades Head, and Tettegouche. A snow storm hit the night I arrived, and all of the windows in the apartment made it a beautiful place to wake up at. Check-in was also easy and Andy was quick to respond. Keep in mind that the kitchen sink and stove are in the garage area below. I didn't use them, so this didn't bother me at all, but I suppose it could be an issue for some. Given the value and location, it would seem like a small price to pay. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Aaron2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Amazing location and views from the window. The house is less than 10 minutes from Tettegouche and Split Rock Light House State Parks, so great for hiking and exploring!

My place is between Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettegouche State Park. The Superior Hiking Trail and Gitchi Gami bike trail are within 1/2 mile of our back door. We are right on the ATV/Snowmobile Trail spur. Gardens and grounds are shared with us and include a picnic table and fire pit. Trails on the hillside lead to a Lake viewing bench with 180' views. The private apartment has beautiful views of the Lake--especially grand are the early mornings for viewing the sunrise over the Lake.
Our place, on the hillside in Beaver Bay, has fantastic views of Lake Superior. This winter we have great snow for snowshoeing trails behind our place and at the local parks, or, cross country skiing on groomed trails in Silver Bay (5 miles from our place). Snowmobiling trails can be accessed right from our driveway. Spectacular winter views and invigorating exercise are just outside the door. There is also a small outdoor skating rink across the street from us. The apartment has an open living/kitchen/dining area. A separate bedroom has queen-size bed and a large closet. The bathroom has a shower. In the living area there is a sofa bed for additional guests (some guests have said the sofa bed is not too comfortable--keep in mind, it is a sofa bed). In the kitchen there is everything you need for preparing your own meals, or, you can easily walk to one of the restaurants in Beaver Bay. There is plenty of room to park your ATV/Snowmobile trailer in our yard, or an extra vehicle--please let us know if you plan on driving more than one vehicle. The Northshore provides many recreational activities. As the oldest continually established community on the Northshore, Beaver Bay has historical significance. It is the home of legendary John Beargrease, a dedicated Anishinaabe Mail Carrier from 1880-1900. Another fun and relaxing thing to do in Beaver Bay is search for agates. The mouth of the Beaver River is a prime spot to relax and sift through the pebbles looking for a prize agate.
We are between Split Rock State Park & Tettegouche State Park. The Gitchi-Gami State Trail is 3 blocks away --Superior Hiking Trail is 1/4 mile away --Snowmobile/ATV Spur Trail is outside my backyard
  • A really nice, clean place! The tea supply was great. They had a few TV shows available to watch on the DVD player, which was a great way to spend our evenings after being outdoors

I live on a quiet street, minimal traffic just a few minutes from Lake Superior. Blacks Beach is just 2 miles away, the Superior hiking trail is less than 1 mile away as well plus quick access to area bike and hiking paths. I live close to Tettegouche St. Park (6 miles) and am 30 miles N of Two Harbors along the North Shore. I welcome you to share my home and hope you have a wonderful stay. :o) NOTE: DUE TO CITY REGS THE MINIMUM STAY IS 30 DAYS
I offer not only a spacious private bedroom and bathroom, but also an area to work on your computer, sit on the love seat and read or relax, watch TV both on the 20" in the bedroom or the 65" 4K HD w/ surround sound in the TV room outside of the bedroom. In addition, I have a full gym complete with free weights, dumb bells, medicine balls, fit ball, durabands, step up, ab roller, cardio machines- eliptical and treadmill are available. Last but not least, a comfortable upstairs living room to relax and unwind as well as a spacious back deck to enjoy a glass of wine or whatever with a limited view of Lake Superior.
I live in a mining town, built in the early 50's, my home being built in 1960. The street I live on is fairly quiet w/ minimal traffic. There are neighbors all around so being aware of that is important, especially those with very young children next door.
  • My husband and I were at Tim's for a little over a month and he was kind in allowing us enough room and extra closet space for us as well as kitchen space for extra food, pots, etc. He knows a lot about the area and has good suggestions about where the fun is! His WiFi is good which helped for Netflix nights and homework on the laptop and phones. Enough parking space in the driveway and he makes sure there are as little issues as possible - a very open guy.

    Adrienne2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is a very nice guy and easy to get along with. If I come back this way I would use Tim again.

    Nathanial2019-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our day was great Tim thanks for the hospitality. Had a great vacation

    Dan2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a perfect host-- he had a great guide book that helped us find places to eat and hike in the area. If you're looking for an authentic small town Minnesota experience, this is the best place to get it. The best of the north shore is within a short drive and a perfect escape for the weekend.

    Emily2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tim made it very easy to check in and was very welcoming upon my arrival, he made sure anything I needed was taken cared of. Bed was very comfortable and downstairs was great temperature for sleeping after a hot day.

    Megan2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a quick and economic launching pad into the surrounding state parks and Superior Hiking Trail. Tim was extremely well prepared for my visit and very accommodating. Having the basement room created extra privacy and plenty of space to organize all my gear in preparation for a weekend hiking trip.

    Paige2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tim's place was a great location. I was able to explore up and down the North Shore. There are lots of great parks in the area. The room itself was very clean and Tim gave me lots of tips for what was around locally. He even found me a great spot to watch fireworks on the 4th.

    Shari2018-07-06T00:00:00Z

We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the pressures of everyday life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
This is a beautiful, private cabin on a secluded stretch of the Baptism River, near the shore of Lake Superior. We built the place ourselves in 1995, using largely local materials and energy-saving building techniques (passive solar, extra insulation, etc.) There is a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and den downstairs, and a loft bedroom (with a stunning view) upstairs; outside the sliding glass doors is a deck with a view of the woods and the music of the rushing water below. An artesian well provides delicious, clean, running water, and an infrared sauna helps you deepen your relaxation. The bedroom has a queen size bed, and you could accommodate an extra person on the fold-out couch (though we don't recommend more than three adults, or two adults plus younger kids). We have central heat and a shower, a full kitchen and high-speed Internet access. We enjoy renting the cabin to responsible people who love the woods as much as we do; this is NOT a commercial venture, but a way to share the beauty of the north woods on a budget, and we keep the price low by relying on you to leave it as you found it and don't charge a cleaning fee. (Think of it more like visiting your own cabin than a hotel or resort.) If you prefer not to clean when you depart, please check out one of the many other beautiful places to stay in the area. We can't do one-night booking; again, please keep in mind that this is not one of those listings (which are great!) that function like a bed & breakfast or hotel. It's simply our cabin that we share with you, and while a neighbor helps with maintenance, there is no linen service etc. Well behaved, nondestructive pets are welcome. Quiet hours must be strictly honored from 10PM to 7AM. No discharge of firearms or fireworks is allowed. Fires are only allowed in the fire ring by the pond. Not down by the river. No other homes are visible or audible from the cabin, even though it is only a 10-minute drive from small and historic Finland, MN. Great hiking nearby includes the Lake Superior Hiking Trail; a Boundary Waters Canoe Area entry point is just 20 minutes away in Isabella. The river offers a soothing backdrop as well as the challenge, for the fishermen and -women among you, of brook trout. Swimming is possible at several gorgeous swimming holes nearby. After you book, please make sure to look at the "Directions" and "House Manual" tabs—there's lots of information there that you need. Thanks, and hope you have a fantastic North Woods vacation!
  • A beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods! The peace and quiet, the huge windows, the bird watching, were all divine. Great location. Kitchen and overall amenities were just right. Grateful that the driveway was plowed when we arrived, even with fresh snow earlier that day. Loved for the extra lighting compared to many rentals, and the general cozy feel of the cabin. Glad we brought an extension cord or two, blankets (in addition to sheets and towels), and a few camp chairs for comfort and sitting out on the deck.

  • This is the perfect cozy getaway in the northwoods!! It’s pretty secluded and very quiet - it was a great escape from the cities and a perfect place to enjoy winter. Thanks to those who stayed before us for cleaning up so well! The loft with the big windows makes you feel like you’re sleeping in a tree house. We loved that we could bring our pup as not many places like this allow pets. We will definitely stay again!

    Kala2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, secluded cabin with great access to the surrounding trails and parks! Just what I needed for my quick getaway!

    Brynn2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect cabin getaway for a short weekend - although I definitely could have stayed longer (but you know, work...). The place had everything we needed and more. It was cozy and secluded and great location to get out and explore the state parks. Would definitely recommend!

    Meghan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, beautiful scenery, great value!

    Cory2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin in a marvelous location! Everything as advertised. The neighboring little town of Finland had all the essential amenities as the much higher-priced area around Tofte and we found the nearby ski trails just as beautiful as further North. If you'd like to use the infrared sauna, be aware that it will take 3-4 hours to warm up so plan accordingly. We look forward to coming back again next winter.

    Jeffrey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking to get away from the daily grind and throw away your devices for an extended amount of time, look no further. We set out on getting away from it all and that’s exactly what Monika’s place allowed us to do. We had everything we needed from cooking appliances to privacy. We went in the winter so we didn’t get to do much hiking but the surround nature was amazing. We definitely fell in love with the North Shore. The house is a perfect. Cozy and homey are the key words here. Waking up in that nook every morning was one of the highlights of our stay. We had everything we needed. We drove to Grand Marais for their Co-op (no offense) but it’s totally worth the drive. It’s stunning up there this time of year but we definitely want to come back for the Summer. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home! It was everything we wanted and more!

  • D went above and beyond to make this stay work for us to snowmobile. The cabin was spotless, very cozy, had everything we needed for a weekend. Check in was very easy as well. We ate locally a few times and everyone we met was very nice. Access to the North Shore Trail was easy from the cabin on our snowmobiles and the trails were just beautiful, we rode over 300 miles in 2 days. We highly recommend the cabin as a middle spot between Grand Marais and Two Harbors. We will be back!

    Jim2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Brook River Cabin is as "Northwoods charming" as can be, and the setting is stunning! The cabin was clean and came provided with everything we needed in the kitchen, along with a comfortable bed to sleep on. It was a bit tricky to get out of the driveway with some snow/ice built up (we were fairly warned), but on the porch was a jug of cat litter that allowed the tires to get a better grip. An overall great place to stay.

    Brenda2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to all the fun North Shore activities. Beautiful views from the cabin of the Baptism River. The cabin was cozy and the bed was comfortable. Check in was a breeze. I would definitely visit again.

  • Great little cabin in a prime area. Host was clear on communication and was easy to work with. We loved the river in the back as well as the many hiking trails in the area. Had a nice fire pit next to cabin that let you relax outside. Was a beautiful area to see in the winter, hope to return and explore in the summer!

  • Such an amazing location, with tons of privacy. The cabin is about twice as big as I expected, and was very clean. The kitchen has everything you need, except for towels as noted. The co-op in Finland had everything we needed for groceries, too.

    Amy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kitchen was well-stocked with pans and utensils. We were able to cook all of our meals without difficulty. Cabin was spacious and clean with nice touches like extra blankets, some games, and movies. Furnace worked great--stayed nice and cozy on a cold Fall weekend. Communication was prompt and clear. Cabin was just the right level of private and close to civilization!

    Rachel2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, dogs and I had a wonderful experience at this cabin! The property is beautiful and my dogs loved exploring it. My husband even went for a quick dip in the (very cold!) river! The cabin was nicely furnished, very clean and cozy. We were very comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Barb and Charlie were on the property for part of our stay and were very warm and gracious hosts (even when our dogs acted up a little). Thank you for a wonderful time!

    Lisa2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot between the north shore & Ely; quaint setting on the Baptism River. Cabin was spacious and clean. Very cozy, we loved the secluded location the most. Highly recommend!

    Becca2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed here for a few days before Labor Day weekend with our two dogs. One of our dogs was obsessed with roaming around the property, it was so much fun walking through the woods with him. The cabin is much larger than expected, and every kitchen utensil we needed was there so we were able to cook all of our meals there. We enjoyed eating outside on the screened in porch and just listening to nature. We drove up the North Shore and did some sightseeing. It was breathtaking! I highly recommend staying at this cabin if you are looking for a retreat.

    Victoria2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was a dream come true. My partner and I loved it and would come back if we decided to travel like that. Moreover, my parents loved it to. It was dreamy. We did not expect it to be so beautiful, both the place and the surroundings. We even saw some dears in the morning! Amazing.

    Irene2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a gem! I'm so happy we found it for our stay. Me, my husband and two dogs had plenty of space, the cabin was bigger than it appears in the pictures. The hosts were gone, but even if they were home, there was plenty of distance between the two cabins that it still would have been more privacy than a resort. They do supply box fans for the two bedrooms, and it cooled down nicely each night we were there. The kitchen was stocked with almost every kitchen utensil, and there were games and books in case of a rainy day. The cabin is located so close to many places we wanted to visit- Ilgen falls, Tettegouche, Gooseberry Falls, shovel point are all within half an hour drive with so much more to explore! Even if just looking to unplug and relax for a few days, you wouldn't have to leave to find peace. Sit out back by the creek and enjoy a fire in the firepit! One of my favorite stays yet!

Welcome to our cabin! This fully renovated cabin is perfectly located, close to the North Shore and the most amazing state parks in Minnesota. While our cabin is conveniently located for adventure, it’s also far enough away to offer the seclusion needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The cabin sits on 20 acres of wooded bliss with ease of access for snowmobile or ATV riders as the North Shore Trail connects to the back of our property.
  • Wonderful week away. Sparkling clean, great kitchen and fireplace/sauna were fabulous amenities and worked very well.

  • This place is just beautiful and very tranquil - you want a place that is a getaway from reality...this is it! Just lovely!

    angela2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin had everything we needed for a quiet, restful, wintery week! A cozy wood burning stove, a wood-burning sauna, and acres to explore on snowshoes. Brian graciously allowed us to bring our dog and she absolutely loved running around in the woods. There was quite a bit of snow and the driveway had been neatly plowed with plenty of space. The kitchen was stocked with high-quality cookware - byo oil and spices if you plan on cooking. We would definitely consider coming back here! Thank you Brian!

    Claire2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the location of this beautiful cabin. It was easy to get to and yet provided a great sense of solitude. We were able to snowshoe right outside the door, relax buy the fire in the living room, and indulge in a sauna! Great place to get away and rest, but also close enough to many options to be active outdoors. And, I want to say the pots and pans were very nice quality; easy to use and clean (byo oil).

Location: Castle Danger near Two Harbors There are three key factors when it comes to vacationing near Lake Superior. You stay in a cozy cabin. You have access to the lakeshore. You simply must have a place to put your feet up at the end of the day so that you can say the following phrase: “Life is good on the North Shore.” Grand Superior Lodge 502 is a stand-alone unit at the Grand Superior Lodge located within a stone’s throw of Lake Superior. It checks off all three on the requirement list, and it doesn’t stop there. Think log cabin meets 2019 luxuries and you’re on the right page. Two charming bedrooms and a full bathroom (in case you were wondering… yes, there is a jetted tub) are perfect for the family, a group of friends, or two couples to embrace life near Lake Superior. Recreational opportunities abound with the seemingly endless options for hiking, cycling and angling opportunities found close by. One of Minnesota’s most iconic state parks, Gooseberry Falls, is a short drive down legendary Highway 61. In addition, Split Rock Lighthouse, likely the most photographed setting on the entire Minnesota shore of Lake Superior, is just minutes away from your cabin. And while spring, summer and fall offer many unique aspects to enliven your vacation, winter is a popular time to enjoy this secluded home as well. Easy access to snowmobile trails, as well as an abundance of groomed cross country ski trails are literally found right out the front door. Dining options are plentiful from this unique setting, including the Splashing Rock Restaurant which is about less than one city block away from the cabin. For the record, in these parts we measure distances by rods, so in local talk the restaurant is about 200 rods from the cabin. In addition, Two Harbors is only 10 miles away and offers a collection of locally-owned restaurants to choose from. At the end of a magnificent day exploring the beaches, trails, local shops and restaurants, there is no better feeling in the world than putting your feet up and explaining once and for all that “life is indeed good on the North Shore.” Pets are welcome with prior approval and an additional fee. 2 pet maximum. Enjoy.
  • Awesome place, breath taking scenery, very cozy cabin! The heated floors, fire place and Jacuzzi make a cold night warm! Centrally located to hop down to Duluth or head north towards Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock and even Ely if you want to check out some wolves. Staying during the winter allows for cross country skiing, snow shoeing or winter hiking. I can only imagine the beauty in the summer!

  • I never felt the need to leave the cabin--it was so gorgeous and cozy! It's off-grid but it's so well thought out that you'd never know! Be prepared for a pretty rough dirt road, but the cabin is definitely worth it! Already booked another trip for the fall!

    Carrie2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous space, comfortable, quiet, and very clean. We loved our stay at this modern and stylish cabin. It is an isolated location, yet you are very convenient to a lot of North Shore parks and activities, so there is a great balance of relaxation and stuff to do. Very happy that they allow dogs as well! Ours had a blast exploring on the property and taking walks down to the river.

    Emily2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the loveliest time. I feel completely rejuvenated. Whether you want to stay in, or go out, Grey Duck has it covered. They had awesome tips on places to go, to eat, to hike, anything you could imagine. The place itself was extremely comfortable, warm, beautifully decorated. I can’t wait to go back in the fall- I’ve already booked a weekend.

    Emily2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Grey Duck lives up to the hype and more. The cabin is new and modern but very cozy. It's pretty far off the beaten path so if you are looking for a weekend away from the outside world with plenty to do this is the place for you. The cabin is stocked with everything you'd need in the kitchen, the bathroom/shower is very nice and the beds are all comfortable. It's a short hike to the Manitou River which was perfect for snowshoeing. My party and I liked it so much we booked another weekend while we were still there to experience the cabin in the summer. Highly recommended!

    Chris2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful wintery weekend at Grey Duck. The driveway and paths were cleared prior to our arrival, despite the 10”+ of snow that came down the night before. The house is so cozy and charming that we didn’t want to leave. We’ve already booked a stay for the coming fall season!

    Jill2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The most perfect modern cabin, just what we needed to get away from the cities! The place was so cute and clean. Loved the little extra touches- snowshoes, a telescope, and a few games.

    Jess2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Grey Duck cabin was even better than we expected! We loved everything about it, and it was a great place to ring in the new year.

  • Jenny’s place was ADORABLE! We arrived and were greeted by about 20 deer. The space itself is charming and bright. Everything was very clean and there were great extras like coffee and oatmeal. A perfect getaway spot. Highly recommend for your North Shore visit!

  • ColdSnap was the ideal getaway for the weekend. There are so many amenities outdoors and in. We felt right at home!

    Kacey2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! We were looking for a cozy space on the North Shore to spend a long weekend with my parents. Trick was - my husband and father would be arriving by snowmobile from Lake Vermilion, and my Mom and I were driving up with two dogs. What could we possibly find that was accessible by snowmobile, welcomed dogs, and didn't cost a fortune?? Cold Snap was the perfect answer! From start to finish, the experience was perfect. We made our first inquiry on Christmas Day, expecting the holiday would slow things down. Nope, had an immediate response to our questions about snowmobiles and dogs. From there on, local caretaker John went above and beyond to help my husband find a good snowmobile route and even stopped by with a heater when one of the machines froze up in the cold weather. The place itself was a delight. Set back off the road with a huge driveway and plowed parking area which was ideal for having plenty of room to walk the dogs even though there was a couple feet of snow around. Inside, there are two nice big couches (in the pictures, I just thought there was only one) for relaxing. We did puzzles on the coffee table, enjoyed homecooked meals around the kitchen table, and the island counter gave us plenty of room for prepping food. The kitchen was hands-down the most well equipped I have seen at an Airbnb with all the stuff you would find at home. The two bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. That may have been the only drawback since my parents are in their 80s and it was a little tiring for my Mom. But we knew that in advance and she managed it fine. The big airy studio space was really nice for morning exercise/yoga (and inspirational with all the gorgeous photographs). I was really sad to leave, but I’m fondly remembering our few days there. I hope we will be back again, perhaps using it as a base in the summer for exploring the Superior Hiking Trail!

    Christina2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful with much more room than we needed. John was responsive and the house was very clean with all we could need for a winter cabin getaway.

    Ben2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a nice spot!

    David2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • ColdSnap Studios is a great getaway. Beautiful location, close enough to get some groceries we forgot but far enough to feel secluded. John’s photography is great, we could have spent days admiring his works. House is in good, clean condition, and has all the basic amenities. Take the advice on the heat controls - I always run cold but it was too warm for even me! We hope to visit again!

Silver Creek Cottage is nestled on 13 acres that include ponds, a runoff creek, geese, ducks, and deer. It is located within three miles of two trailheads for the Lake Superior Hiking Trail, and is less than 15 minutes from Gooseberry Falls. The cottage is next to the main house, on the north side. Though close, it affords privacy (if desired) as there are no north facing windows looking out on it from the main house.
The cottage is 800 sf, with a bedroom, 3/4 bath, and great room with futon couch for additional sleeping. Two additional sleeping cots are also in the unit. There is a back deck shaded by the pines and overlooking a small brook. Good place to unwind with a glass of wine.
The neighborhood requires a minimum of 10 acres per property, so there is plenty of space between them. Also nearby are cross country ski trails; Korkki Nordic, Split Rock State Park, Two Harbors Cross Country trail just outside of Two Harbors. Also, most of the state parks up the shore boast cross country ski trails.
  • This is an amazing location with many wildlife getting close to you. Awesome amenities and overall a great stay. Will definitely be coming back for more visits to this location and Jenny was a great host with an adorable snacks train which me and my girlfriend loved the most!

    Ameya2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was the perfect winter weekend getaway for my wife and I. It was cozy and secluded, but still very close to many of the main attractions of the area (minutes from Gooseberry, Betty's Pies, Castle Danger Brewery, etc. The host feeds deer that will come right up near the cabin and make for some great photo opportunities . Highly recommend!

  • This cozy place is just outside of Two Harbors. It’s perfectly situated outside of town and close to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. We had 5 deer greet us as we drove in and Jenny made sure it was toasty warm for us when we walked in. It’s super easy to find and extremely comfortable. You can’t go wrong staying at Jenny’s. Thanks for letting us bring our little dog too!

    Jaymi2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, comfortable cottage with all we needed for a weekend. Happy to have been able to bring our dog along with no issue. Great location for access to North Shore state parks where we enjoyed lots of hiking.

Spacious, light-filled all-season cabin on a secluded, unique river front. Beautiful views of water and woods. Six private acres in a quiet wilderness setting, yet within ten miles from Lake Superior, state parks, groceries, and restaurants. Large kitchen and living/dining areas, two bedrooms, full bath, comfortable beds and leather furniture for a relaxing wilderness retreat.
Please read the full description and all House Rules before sending a request. This is a unique and remote wilderness retreat, not a full-service hotel. For example, our guests commit to bringing some basics and cleaning up when leaving. We want to make sure this is a good fit for you. Thank you! Our spacious, light-filled cabin is on a beautiful, secluded river front with dramatic bluffs and rapids and more quiet parts for swimming and fishing. Large windows throughout give spectacular views of the river, woods and surrounding hills. The sound of the water is a wonderful backdrop, and you will rarely hear any traffic. We are at the end of a quiet unpaved road. Other cabins can only be seen from few views on the property, and mainly in the winter when leaves are down. The house was carefully designed and built by local craftspeople in 1994. It is spacious (1100 sf) with vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. Our downstairs has a large, fully equipped kitchen with adjacent dining area, a cozy sitting room with a comfortable leather sectional and great views of the river, a large entry area with a queen futon and leather arm chair, a TV room/study with loveseat and desks, and a full bath. The large three-season porch (with futon and lounger) and the outside deck are great places to view and listen to the river in warmer weather. The two bedrooms, with comfortable full and queen beds, are upstairs. Three closets provide ample storage space. The cabin has high-speed internet, stereo, and two TVs, without reception but with VCR, DVD, HDMI connection, video tapes & DVDs. The kitchen has a toaster, microwave, coffeemaker and -grinder, electric kettle, blender, mixer and all essential utensils. Spring through fall, there is also a propane grill outside. There is no landline, but cell reception with AT&T and several other carriers is good. ---------------------- ***IMPORTANT: This is a remote wilderness cabin, not an urban, full-service hotel. You need to bring some basics, clean up when leaving, and conserve water & propane. In winter/ spring weather, you might have to park on the road and walk up to the cabin.*** Please only book if you are comfortable with such a wilderness stay and if you agree to all the policies and house rules. If you want more amenities than we can provide, please consider other nearby rentals, such as the hotels and condos along the lake. They tend to be pricier and in busier areas, but might be a much better fit for you. Here some important points. CLEAN-UP: We do not charge a cleaning fee. You need to leave everything as clean as you found it and ready for the next guest. (In this remoteness, it is not possible to get a professional cleaning service after each guest, so please do not book if that is your expectation.) BRING YOUR OWN: BYO towels and linens (sheets, pillow cases). Buy your own local firewood if you plan on campfires. (In winter weather: Bring a shovel and sand for winter driving.) TAKE GARBAGE/ RECYCLING with you. (If you absolutely cannot, please let us know and put it into sealed bins inside garage). CONSERVE WATER & PROPANE: We have a small well & septic system for limited water use. Save flushes & showers and allow time between them for the system to refill. Flush only toilet paper. Set heat to minimum anytime you leave. WINTER/SPRING DRIVING: The last 1/2 mile can be difficult in winter/spring. While most guests can drive right up, you need to be prepared for the possibility that you have to park on the road and walk the last bit to the cabin, especially without 4WD. Use of driveway and dirt road is at your own risk. ***We cannot be responsible for costs to you or give refunds if your car cannot make it all the way to the cabin.*** (See the detailed manual for more). MIND THE WILDLIFE: To prevent mice, do not leave food out; clean up even small crumbs and spills right away. In the fall, mice might still come into walls for warmth, but will stay out of living areas if food is cleaned up. It is thus possible you might see a mouse; please do not book if that is a problem! Because of bears, wolves and coyotes, do not leave garbage or food outside, and watch your dog. STRICT CANCELLATION POLICY: Please double-check your dates and all policies! Airbnb will only give refunds for emergencies. Please review all "House Rules" before finalizing your booking request: After clicking "Request to book", click "Read more" under "Things to keep in mind" to see the full list. THANK YOU!
If you like to stay around the cabin, you can find places to sit at the riverfront, take a dip, fish, explore the woods on the property, watch the wildlife, or take a walk on our quiet dirt road. You can access ATV/snowmobile trails (that you can also hike on) 1/2 mile from the cabin, on Hwy 1. About one mile away, is a bar and lodge, the Wildhurst, with tap beer and snacks. Within a 10-minute drive you can get to Lake Superior, Tettegouche SP, historic Finland, groceries, gas, restaurants, waterfalls, swimming holes, Superior Hiking Trail access, Wolf Ridge Educational Center, skiing and snowmobiling. The nearest entry to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area is in Isabella, 20 minutes away.
  • We had a great stay at Uta's place!

    Ulla2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Uta's cabin during very snowy MLK Jr. weekend. We had hoped to get out and spend more time skiing on the Northshore, but were snowed-in with a fresh 16+" and understandably delayed plow service. Fortunately, the cabin had everything we needed to make the most of the weekend. It is spacious and allows for guests to spread out, enjoying independent activities (the VHS selection is prime) or come together to play games and eat. We took full advantage of the well-equipped kitchen, prepping amazing meals and beautiful loaves of bread. While the snow kept us close to home base, it couldn't have been in a more beautiful spot. Uta and Bob were generous and accommodating in helping us figure out the snow complications. We will definitely keep this on our list for future Northshore adventures.

    Abby2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Uta is a great host! She was very kind and quick to respond! Her cabin is in a great location if your looking for some place private and quiet! We enjoyed our weekend in the woods snowshoeing and adventuring around the state park!

    Ali2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really unique architecture, and the cabin had more room than I was expecting. The kitchen was spacious too, making it easy to cook meals for a group of six. The location feels private, and it's close to state parks so there are a lot of hiking opportunities. I would stay again!

    Andy2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The location was remote but very easy to find. Lots of unique touches in the space, it feels 100% cozy, clean, and peaceful. We are grateful we got to stay here!

    Jacqueline2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is exactly as described on a beautiful property, from which you can view and hear the Baptism River. Communicating with Uta was a breeze, as was checking in and out. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking several meals. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to go back in the future!

Casa del Lago, halfway between Two Harbors and Gooseberry Falls, is a beautiful 3-bed, 2.75 bath log home right on the shores of majestic Lake Superior. Casa del Lago is unique and cozy, rustic yet upscale, has spectacular lake and cliff views, and has all the amenities (wifi, sauna, entertainment systems, 2 decks, wet bar, etc.). There is a short walking path to the beautiful mile-long pebble beach. You will not want to leave! (Note: You need to be at least 25 years old to book this cabin.)
We are 8 miles out of Two Harbors and 30 miles from Duluth. Duluth is a bigger city and has everything you would need including restaurants, night life etc. Two Harbors is around 3500 people. There’s a ski resort called Lutsen an hour and 15 minutes north which is the best skiing next to the mountains in the Midwest area. There’s also Spirit Mountain for skiing. You could rent ATVs in Beaver Bay. There’s great hiking trails all around the area. You also can try charter fishing out of Duluth. Grand Marais is a charming artist colony further north. Feel free to visit the Naniboujou Lodge while there. Babe Ruth, Al Capone, and Jack Dempsey used to go there for a quick getaway!
  • The place was very easy to get to, however, as the owner mentions, the address doesn't work on map apps, so make sure you follow his directions. The house was very well stocked for all of our needs. We particularly enjoyed the grill and outside fire setups. It has a great view, the beach was clean, comfortable amenities, and it worked well for a party of 8. Looking at previous reviews, it seems that a lot of the issues folks previously talked about were handled by the owner. We did not encounter any of the issues mentioned. The only negative that was mentioned by folks in my party was that the pullout couch downstairs was not very comfortable to sleep on. They elected to sleep on the couches which worked fine. Otherwise, we had a great time and are looking forward to another opportunity to visit again.

    Michael2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing cabin located in a beautiful spot along the north shore! The cabin is beautiful with great amenities. Plan for some extra time at check out as there is some cleaning to be done prior to leaving. Thanks for a great stay—we loved it and hope to be back!

    Madi2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a home for any family gathering or special get together. Peaceful, amazing lake access and outstanding home that is everything and more than the pictures portray. You will love it!

    Lissa2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully appointed rustic home on the shores of Lake Superior - our family certainly enjoyed our stay here.

    Marita2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with stunning views! Very clean with plenty of room for everyone. The firepit outside is in the perfect location and being able to walk to the beach was an added bonus. You aren't able to walk down the beach because you can't go on the neighbor's property, but it's still a great view. The kitchen has plenty of pots, pans and utensils, but there are no spices provided at the house for guests to use. There is a security camera outside the home, which is not listed in the description but guests should be aware of. You have to sign a lengthy rental agreement and include all guest's license plate numbers, home addresses, and phone numbers, which is information I have never had to provide at other Air bnb's. Overall a fabulous place to stay for a weekend away in nature.

    Emily2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Craig’s cabin is a wonderful place to stay. Great views of Lake Superior and close to gooseberry falls and split rock lighthouse. We had a wonderful time here just getting away from the city and slowing down.

    Nicole2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is wonderful with many great art work. And the view from the house is brilliant. I think it worths what you pat for.

    Lulu2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is spectular! I would suggest staying here if you need a “get away” to the north shore. The views are amazing, if you can manage to escape from them you will find many hiking trails. This place is convienetly located close to town, but still feels secluded.

The birch room has its name because the entire room is trimmed with birch hardwood flooring and paneling. The room has a wonderful king size bed and a private bath with 2 person whirlpool tub and separate shower.
The manor has many wonderful gathering areas to relax and enjoy.
We are in the middle of a 39 acre parcel, so about a quarter mile from all our neighbors, its pretty laid back out here.
  • Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. It’s everything and more in what you want from an Airbnb. Lots of room for large families, but it was also quiet and accommodating to us as a couple. The hosts are incredibly responsive to your every need should any arise, as well as friendly. The homemade Breakfast was amazing, Marks poached eggs are the best we’ve had, and a must try is the Finnish coffee. We sincerely appreciated the fact they “leave room” in their booked up calendar for “one nighters” vs a multiple night stay for people such as us every once and awhile that live in the area and just wanted a night away. We’ll definitely be back to the area for its incredible beauty, and now we have another reason!

    David2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Becky were the absolute best host we could’ve asked for. They had absolutely everything you can imagine. Games to play which had some great laughs. Fresh and amazing food. Everything was so thoughtful

    Hannah2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time at the Manor. This place is so warm and cozy and sparkling clean! Fresh cookies and coffee when we arrived! Mark and Becky are both so personable and easy to talk to! We really enjoyed the yummy breakfast and the good company around the table! The special touches and attention to detail was so sweet! They felt like family and gave a listening ear and good sound advice regarding our sons upcoming wedding! It was just what we needed! Also the scenic drive on the back roads was beautiful! Thank-you for the travel tips!!!! We would definitely return in the future!

    Kelley2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • It's beautiful!

    Emily2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Becky were attentive hosts, the accommodations were lovely, and the common areas would be great for a group visiting to relax and enjoy home-baked desserts.

    Sarah2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • The manor is a wonderful environment with amazing hosts. They offer great conversation and good tips of cleaver and interesting things to do in the region if you need suggestions. Their proximity to Two Harbors was nice, but still offered a lot of privacy in the woods near lake superior. The manor was fantastic, and the homemade ice cream offered to us was superb. Some of the best highlights include each room being made from a different type of lumber, and all of the construction supplies made on site. We really enjoyed the amenities and the library while staying in the manor for the evening after a fun day near Lake Superior.

    Anthony2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Becky was out of town the weekend we stayed, but Mark was an excellent host working double time! We were lucky enough to get the Birch Room which came with its own in room Fireplace. The jacuzzi was a nice warm way to wind down after hiking through the Fall colors. There were cookies on the table every time we arrived back at the manor, and Mark even made us popcorn during a low key night when we wanted to watch moves in our room. Breakfast was hot and fresh every morning, with a bottomless mug of coffee. If you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring some headphones or ear plugs, as my partner said he could hear people in the room next to us talking before bed. Luckily, I was full from cookies and tired after a long day and slept through it all! We’re thinking about coming back again next Fall and highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a weekend getaway.

  • Description of the Fitzgerald Manor was totally accurate. Very casual experience, fresh cookie baked smells as we arrived. Was able to take advantage of the home made Maple Nut ice cream! The hospitality was excellent, good stories about building the manor, very accommodating.

Beautiful lake side all-season home with 260ft private lake shore with one of a kind sandy beach on Lake Superior, 3 bedrooms with dramatic lake views and everything you need to make your trip memorable.
A one of a kind property on the north shore for our guests to enjoy in complete privacy.
In contrast to the rocky shoreline of most of Lake superior, this is the only property that has a sandy beach that is naturally black in color. Come experience it.
  • Amazing views. The cabin has a perfect up north feel. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

  • We greatly enjoyed our two nights at the Blacksand Beach house! The house was well appointed and clean, spacious, well decorated with northwoods theme. The private blacksand beach was amazing. While the bugs were a bit of a nuisance from time to time, the beach was otherwise perfect for our family to hang out at and swim. Highly recommend this place for a family getaway.

This is a charming Lake View Cottage, and is very well known as The Treehouse. This well designed home is built on a concrete pedastal and offers 1300 Sq Ft of living space. Nestled among the white pines with a walk around deck the views of Lake Superior are stunning. Natures wildlife is abundant and The Treehouse offers a grand overlook. The home features full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, screen porch, wood stove fire place, and is cozy, warm and perfect for 4 people.
This is such a unique house. Built in the bluffs above Lake Superior with beautiful views of the lake. The walk around deck and screened in porch add the perfect spots to sit and enjoy a sunrise over the lake or watch the wildlife around the property. The home is built like an octagon shape so the interior flow is perfect for two couples with a bedroom on each end of the home, and each with it’s own bathroom and all the living space in between. This set up offers the perfect privacy. The home is also ideal for a family of four.
The property is located just a couple of miles from the historic Split Rock Light House and many hiking trails that are part of the Superior Hiking Trail. There is also a bike trail located right at the bottom of the hill. The towns of Two Harbors and Beaver Bay are both nearby for shopping and exploring.
  • The house was clean and welcoming. The comfortable furniture, wood stove and location on a large column up in the trees made us feel cozy but not cut off from the outdoors. The lack of wifi might be considered a downside, but a break from the digital world was pleasant. I would absolutely recommend this place to others.

  • Clean, cozy home with unique treehouse architecture.

    Tim2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at the treehouse. Good location - close to Split Rock Lighthouse, Iona Beach and Gooseberry Falls. Wonderful view of the lake. Very private. Comfortable beds and very clean. Would definitely stay there again!

    Gail2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is excellent! Two fire pits to use, a large deck, 3 season room and super comfortable beds. The location was also prime! Not too far back from the highway and close to everything you may need. We would totally stay here again!

    Stephanie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic, extraordinary place. Great views. Close to pretty much everything.

    Tracy2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time in the treehouse. Clean and friendly. Biking from this locale is great. Pack a snack if you ride the 14 miles to Gooseberry! Also, great section of paved trail that runs up the hill from Beaver Bay.

    Dan2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a quaint, cozy little place with a spectacular view and amazing location! Tucked away for a nice private getaway but only a few miles from Silver Bay with several state parks as well as local grocery store, gas station etc. Well designed with thoughtful touches made our stay wonderful!

    Jacob2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great property and unique cabin. Wonderful view and fun to be up in trees. Brian and Sandra were very responsive and friendly. We would stay here again.

The Poplar room has its name because the entire room is trimmed with poplar hardwood flooring and paneling.
  • Mark & Becky’s place is great! It is a B&B experience. A very large house with plenty of places to gather or read a book. A large kitchen guests are free to use. Large library. Rooms are simply decorated (not a tacky b&b) and relaxing with a comfortable bed, fireplace, tv, fan, Sonos system, relaxing jetted bath and shower. All very clean. Mark and Becky were very hospitable and full of interesting stories of the building of the house. Homemade cookies and ice cream with delicious breakfast in the morning including their own coffee blend. You can tell they enjoy hosting and think about details. We came up just as the leaves were starting to turn and Mark was able to give us directions for a beautiful drive we would have never found on our own. Their place is close enough to town that it was not out of the way, ( just past Betty’s Pies but we recommend the Rustic Inn a little further down the road for way better food.) If a Lake Superior lakefront view isn’t a “must have” for you then this is the place to stay!!

  • WOW. Our stay with Mark and Becky was exceptional! We loved everything about our experience and would 100% recommend you stay at Fitzgerald Manor. Mark and Becky's thoughtful touches really make you feel like a part of the family. We also really enjoyed our conversation with Mark and the other people staying at the Manor! We are just blown away by their hospitality and would love to stay with them again. Thank you for everything, Mark and Becky!

    Mick2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Becky are exceptional hosts. They tend to your every need and have a wealth of knowledge on everything from local attractions to humming bird health. Seriously, just ask, they'll probably know. The smells of the pine forest surrounding them is enchanting. The room was comfortable, tidy and had satellite TV. The house is unique and beautiful. Would highly recommend!

  • Mark and Becky were wonderful hosts! The house was clean and comfortable. Mark gave us a tour of the entire house and made us feel very very welcome. We woke up to coffee and breakfast made for us in the kitchen. Highly recommend Mark and Becky. Their hospitality was above my expectations!

  • The manor was beautiful and the room extremely comfortable. But what made this place shine was the gracious nature of the hosts who provided excellent local sight-seeing / restaurant recommendations and who cooked easily the best French Toast breakfast I've ever had.

    Leigh2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience with a B&B and were very happy with our stay. A beautiful home and Mark & Becky were gracious hosts. Fresh cookies, clean rooms and a breakfast worth driving back for. Close to hiking and scenery we came for. Would certainly recommend to others.

    Austin2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Becky are superb hosts. If you want to feel warm and welcomed and have a great nights sleep-definitely stay here. This place exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and lovely everywhere you looked; inside and outside. We were unable to try the breakfast that we only heard excellent things about due having to leave early to make it home on our last day but that did not deter from a truly wonderful experience. My husband ran in grandmas marathon in Duluth and it was so convenient that the starting line was just a few miles away! Mark and Becky made very delicious and nutritious muffins for everyone participating in the race. We really appreciated this wonderful place and hosts and feel fortunate to have experienced the Fitzgerald Manor. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

  • One of the best BnB we have stayed in! The listing is very accurate and the house itself is huge and spotless. Very friendly and helpful hosts, custom made lip-smacking breakfast and home made cookies and ice-cream! This house was a treat! Definitely going here again if we are in this area :)

    Payas2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very fun and relaxing b&b. The view is beautiful and such a peaceful place to getaway to! Becky and Mark were very kind, accommodating and wonderful cooks! Nothing better than homemade breakfast and baked goods!

  • We would highly recommend staying with Mark and Becky. They were wonderful hosts and they have a beautiful and welcoming place that really does feel like home. Pluses include homemade ice cream and cookies (who wouldn't like that?). We thought it would be a great place to go back to in the future with family!

  • Peaceful and beautiful place to stay. I went for a last minute overnight vacation to relax and unwind before the start of the school year. They had cookies and tea waiting with a warm reception from Becky. Beautiful library and room. Bathroom had a jacuzzi tub— perfect for unwinding! I was able to binge my Netflix in peace. Breakfast was both filling and full of conversation. Coffee was excellent!

  • Our stay was wonderful! The property and house were beautiful! We will be sure to add Fitzgerald Manor to our list of best places to stay in the two harbor area. Only regret was we didnt have a chance to enjoy the breakfast due to having to hit the road in the morning! Thanks for everything!

  • This has been my favorite Airbnb stay so far. We stayed in Steven’s room. The house is gorgeous; beautiful wood throughout. Mark was there to greet us. He is very friendly & welcoming, they make you feel like family. Homemade cookies, homemade ice cream, we had an excellent egg bake for breakfast. I have a gluten allergy and they were accommodating and familiar with allergies. We both wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be back. Easy to find too, we didn’t arrive until after dark but had no trouble. Mark sent us on our way with cookies and coffee! Thank you so much for having us!! - Jenny & Derek

  • Mark and Becky are absolutely wonderful hosts. Once you set foot into their hideaway, you won’t want to leave. Food and company were excellent and perfectly complemented their cozy manor. This property is so well-suited to renting the entire home for events. Yet being a guest meeting other new people will certainly be a delightful experience for anyone staying at the Fitzgerald Manor.

    Kathie2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Fitzgerald Manor was a treat. Mark and Becky are wonderful hosts. Their home is an amazing space and was thoughtfully designed and built to be a bed & breakfast. We were there for Grandma's marathon weekend, and they gladly accommodated the runners and those cheering for runners by making sure that several kinds of home made muffins, coffee and anything else needed were ready in the wee hours of the morning. The library was unexpected and is filled with books and board games, plus a couple of comfy chairs with a beautiful view. We'll be back for sure.

    Delayne2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Becky's home is beautiful! We enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom, comfy bed, and Direct TV (late night movie in bed!). Mark's homemade ice cream was a yummy sweet treat after we arrived after dinner and the breakfast the following morning (eggs, bacon, smoothie, local coffee and jam) was excellent and filling. They were gracious and welcoming hosts - we will be back to pack the remaining 6 bedrooms and bathrooms with family and friends for a long week or weekend on the North Shore. Easy drive into Two Harbors and up the coast for all the seasonal outdoor fun you can imagine!

    Heather2017-11-04T00:00:00Z

  • Mark and Becky’s place is beautiful. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi in our room and all the personal touches! Breakfast was great as well—Mark was kind enough to make sure I had a special vegan meal. We only spent one night but I think this would be a great option for an extended stay as well. We will definitely be back the next time we need a place to stay in Two Harbors!

  • We had such a lovely stay at Mark & Becky’s! Great hospitality and such a beautiful, charming home. Also had great recommendations of local places to check out!

    Liz2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Becky and Mark are friendly, thoughtful and helpful. It was lovely meeting them. As hosts, they exceed all expectations. They prepared coffee and four varieties of homemade muffins for a house full of half- and full-marathon runners who had to be awake extremely early. (4 a.m. in my case. I left for the race well caffeinated and ready to run!) The next day, they prepared a delicious, hearty breakfast. The house and the rooms are beautiful, with cozy (fireplaces) and modern (jacuzzi tub) amenities. They also offered excellent local recommendations. If you have a chance to stay here, do it!

  • The Fitzgerald Manor was the perfect stay for our North Shore Adventure. An excellent location in Two Harbors that was an eazy drive to Duluth AND Grand Marais. Close to Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse as well. Our room was clean and large with a huge bathroom and two person shower and two person jet tub. The 80 acre property had so much great nature included a 2 mile hiking trail. Becky gave us some great insight into local wildlife including the many hummingbirds and birds that are always around. The huge kitchen and eating area was a great place for conversation with other guests and lively cribbage games. They serve their own blend of coffee for breakfast alongside impressive scratch made food like breakfast tarts and frittatas. Mark even makes his own ice cream (try the maple walnut!). Easy drive to Two Harbors where our hosts directed us to Castle Danger Brewing for live music in addition to Many other local spots. Don’t miss the Cedar coffee company and Spokengear Bike shop -they had a great farmers market on Saturdays with local artisans. The Fitz was a great home base for us on our trip and we highly recommend a stay there.

  • Anyone looking for a romantic getaway or just a few nights away from the hustle and bustle of life needs to go here. As a traveling sales rep, I have had my fair share of good stays at B&B’s all across the Midwest, nothing compares to this place. The type of place that makes you take a second, breathe and reset. No review can actually capture how great it was but I hope this helps.

    Austin2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

Communication was perfect, and they treated us like royalty. The only downside was that we ate way too much of their homemade ice cream and cookies! :) We hope to make this an annual stay!
