  • Kris and Elena were fabulous hosts. They greeted us as soon as we got to there beautiful log cabin and made us feel right at home. The view of the lake in the morning was graceful. The room with the fireplace was definitely my favourite spot, nothing better than being by a fireplace when in bed in the winter!:) thanks again Kris and Elena!

    Vanessa2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cabin, with such welcoming hosts!

    Hailey2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kris was a wonderful host. He was knowledgeable of the area, and even recommended places for us to visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and overall our stay was beyond expectations. I would recommend to anyone looking to get away.

    Ashley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very kind and helpful. He was able to accommodate my friend and I on such short notice. He also didn’t mind us playing guitar inside the house even at night when it would be considered too noisy to sleep. His hospitality was so welcoming and made our trip extra special. The mattresses are very comfortable and the decor really gives you that cottage feel that you’re looking for. As a winter getaway, the fireplaces make the cottage so cozy and a dream to be in. Being able to go on the dock during the winter and just stare out into the frozen lake in complete silence is the most peaceful thing I’ve experienced in a while. I highly recommend this place if you want to just get a way from it all and come back relaxed and recharged!

  • My friend and I had a great girls' trip up here at this beautiful cottage. Kris was very generous and hospital, and was very attentive and responsive to our needs at this place. The rooms were gorgeous and had great decor that resembled the community's culture. Sitting by the fireplace and drinking hot chocolate was the best. We loved this experience!

    Emily2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Kris and Elena’s place is beautiful. The pictures don’t do the room justice. Comfortable, and cozy. Excellent location on the water. Gracious hosts. Complete privacy.

  • This space was the perfect relaxing getaway that we needed. Nice and quiet and surrounded by forest. The logging roads were great for snowshoeing as well

    Adam2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cabin is as advertised. Clean and well appointed. Communication was easy. Would recommend a stop at the Haliburton Brewing Co in Abbey Gardens. Nice folk and great brew. Rhubarb restaurant was also a nice find.

    Michael2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, chic cabin in the woods. Very clean with so many thoughtful touches. It made it very hard to leave when our weekend was over.

    Shelby2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Whitney & Kyle's. So relaxing and in the most serene setting. Who needs waterfront when you can have tranquility. The cabin is small but super cozy. We appreciate that the sheets and towels are provided as some other hosts ask that you bring your own. There's plenty of content on the Apple TV which we put to good use. If you do plan on cooking like we did quite a bit, do bring spices, cooking oil, coffee and sugar. Due to the size of the kitchen, there's only so much that can be stocked. It is a steep hill to get up to the cabin. It snowed quite a bit during our stay so, although, the driveway was sanded twice during our stay, we still struggled to get up the hill once and we were in an SUV with winter tires. I don't think it would be an issue in the summer or warmer weather though. Just plan your ride accordingly. The location couldn't be better. It's close to town, convenience store, lcbo and Sir Sam's Ski Resort literally 10-15 mins away. Even driving around the surrounding area, it was so beautiful with the snow. We loved it there and would definitely go back!

    Raxme2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a relaxing time and Whitney and Kyle’s lovely cottage. A great sense of privacy and still close enough to several amenities; making it feel like a home away from home.

    Jessica2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Cranberry Cabin. We arrived right at the conclusion of a very large snowfall, so it was an absolute winter wonderland! The access driveway had been plowed, the heat had been turned on and some local craft beer had been placed in the fridge for us. We felt welcomed and were immediately impressed. The cabin is situated on a private wooded hilltop with no neighbours in sight. The cabin is quaint and charming. It is well stocked and super clean. The hosts were responsive and timely in their communication with us. We would definitely stay here again in the future and recommend to others.

    Todd2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely adored Whitney & Kyle’s little cabin in the woods! Perfectly remote and rustic, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, stocked kitchen for cooking, and not one but two large TVs with Netflix and Apple TV. As other guests have mentioned, the driveway to the cabin is fairly steep and long, making it a bit challenging in winter conditions so make sure your vehicle can handle that. We really enjoyed our stay at the cranberry cabin and would recommend to anyone! Also be sure to check out Haliburton Highlands Brewing, Boshkung Brewing, and Rhubarb restaurant if you get the chance. Thank you Whitney & Kyle for everything!

Welcome to our newly renovated cottage on the beautiful Gull river. Quiet area yet still only 15 min from Haliburton. The water is safe for all age swimmers. There is little to no current in front of our cottage. You can jump right off our dock into the water or you can walk in. We do not have anyone across the water, it is a beautiful view of trees. Our year round cottage offers a Furnace, Central Air and Hot tub to enjoy. Ski hills and snowmobile trails are very close.
Our cottage is a cozy 3 bedroom space where you can relax and enjoy privacy. We will accomadate a max of 4 adults and 4 children, will look at different numbers on a one to one basis You can sit on the deck or the dock and relax or use one of the water toys we have on the property. Hot tub for your use outside to enjoy. As well as a firepit by water for your use. From June to Sept our property is sprayed for mosquitos. This greatly diminishes the amount of mosquitos and allows you to enjoy the outdoors more.
Property is close to a public boat launch on to Gull River which has access to Maple, Green and Pine Lake. Pine Lake has a public beach and boat launch area you can access. West Guilford is a 5 min drive and has a cute cottage store, beer - Liquor store, ice cream shop, laundry mat and pizza place as well as a general store. Snowmobiling is right out the door just down the road. Lots of great trails to explore. Sir Sams Ski Hill is 20 min away. It is a great Ski Hill and chalet where you can get a bite to eat. You can also Ice fish on the local lakes.
  • Exactly we needed!! I booked Nikki’s cottage for a girls getaway and we had an amazing stay!! The cottage is cozy and welcoming with a fabulous Canadian decor theme and tributes to her family and The Tragically Hip...loved it! Nikki was quick to respond to messages. The little things make a difference... there are plenty of games, books, and movies, the dishwasher is super quiet, beds are comfortable, spices and condiments to use, great water pressure in the shower, and a beautiful view to the river... what more could we have asked for. Thank you Nikki, we hope to stay here again!!

    Sheryn2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Lee provided great suggestions for things to do nearby. We also enjoyed the hot tub very much! This cottage has everything you need. We would love to come back!

    Blair2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Nikki’s cottage! Nikki was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We were 4 adults and found the cottage to be more than enough room for all of us. The cottage is well equipped and we enjoyed the tv and game options in the evenings (and the hot tub!). The OFSC snowmobile trail is only a couple minute ride from the cottage which was very convenient. We would definitely stay again.

    Jordanna & Pat2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki was welcoming and made check-in and out easy. The place was a great winter escape and the view of the water from the hot tub was perfect!

    Matthew2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Nikki's family cottage. The place was sparkling clean and so cozy. She left us a bottle of wine and a card which was such a nice touch. There were many board games and DVDs to choose from as well. While there are neighboring cottages, the place felt very private and was surrounded by trees. The river in the back of the cottage had no neighbors adjacent so it felt very private. The hottub was amazing and so nice to sit in during the winter. My only complaint was the construction that was happening next door - it was quite noisy for most of the day and started fairly early in the am, so if you are a late sleeper bring earplugs. However, this was a minor inconvenience in comparison to the lovely cottage and the construction finished in the afternoon. We would love to come back in the fall and use the firepit!

    Sarah2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki's cottage was perfect for our family vacation. Everything was as expected and more. We would visit again and recommend to others.

    Scott2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend this place to anyone!!!

    Adam2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Nikki's cottage is a full year cottage with lots of activities available inside and around the cottage. We visited there during Xmas holidays and enjoyed the nice amenities at the cottage, including the amazing hot tube. There is also a beautiful ski resort (Sir Sam's) within the 15 min drive from the cottage for skiers. It's right beside Gull river with lots of scenic views. I am sure it will be wonderful visiting there during summer too.

Our expansive deck can be enjoyed all day long with beautiful lounging & dining furniture, gas BBQ, and a hot tub with views that are second to none! Just off the deck to the rear of the property, there is a fire pit to enjoy on those cooler evenings. Down by our beautifully natural and rugged shore line, we upgraded two decked platforms and added chairs for you to relax and soak up some Vitamin D. There is a 4 person Pedal Boat, two Kayaks and two Paddle Boards for you to use with compliments - 6 adult life jackets in varying sizes are provided, as well as two youth life jackets. • My husband and I plus the dog had the greatest three night stay at The Birchwood. Talk about the most stylish cozy cottage on the most private scenic setting. We walked for hours on the frozen lake with views of rolling tree lined hills everywhere. It's truly a winter wonderland. After our long days outdoors we had a wood burning fire and a hot tub to come home to. This cottage is a perfect getaway any season of the year. I highly recommended connecting with nature and being spoiled with top notch hospitality. An A++ for both. Thanks for a perfect getaway at your beautiful retreat The Birchwood Ryan and Blair, we look forward to returning.

    Anita2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was hands down the BEST Airbnb experience we’ve yet to have. The space was more beautiful than the photos, and exceeded all of our expectations. Ryan was an amazing host, and really went above and beyond to accommodate us, and make us feel welcome and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back to The Birchwood during the summer, and to visit their new property when it’s ready in June 2020. Thanks again for everything!

    Kendal2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is absolutely stunning. The host Ryan goes above and beyond to make the place welcoming and comfortable. My family and I will definitely be returning in the future.

    Stephanie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Honestly, it doesn't get better than this! Ryan & Blair go above and beyond on every level possible. The cottage itself is IMMACULATE and every detail has been meticulously thought out for maximum comfort an enjoyment. The level of quality, from the mattresses & lines to the amenities & decor, is extraordinary. When you combine all this with the location itself and the incredible views, plus hosts who really care and want to take good care of you, you understand why this place is such a hot ticket. We had an amazing stay and we can't wait to be back! Thank you Ryan & Blair for being such great hosts!

    Lauren2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place was outstanding and we had a wonderful time. A slice of heaven and so many personal touches that it was everything we could have imagined. We will be back again.

    Scott2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Haliburton Birchwood exceeded our expectations. What a fabulous location with top notch accommodations. The place was fully stocked. The kitchen had everything down to blenders and bakeware. Our family had such an amazing family day week. The winter setting and 5star cottage accommodations made our week perfect. We look forward to returning.

    Melanie2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Welcome to an experience you shall never forget. The most scenic of Views from the Deck overlooking the Haliburton Forest & did you notice that while looking you could be soaking in an expertly maintaned Hot Tub? We came up for Valentine's with winter in full force and temperatures hitting Minus 33. This I would imagine be challenging to a Host to stay on top of his game to make sure everything is functioning in this climate and I can say everything was above and beyond our expectations and functioning perfectly. These guys are Pros with Hearts big gold with special touches you will have to see to believe. So glad to have been embraced by The Birchwood and all of the Lovley that comes with it. Book it and you will see. 🇨🇦 Team Birchwood 🇨🇦 Karen & Troy & Donovan 🐾

    Troy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Blair were the most wonderful hosts! Communication leading up to our stay was fantastic - they provided quick responses to all of my questions and also provided a welcome manual, which was very helpful. Upon arrival, we found a welcome note along with complimentary wine - a great personal touch that made us feel very welcome! We were also provided with complimentary coffee, tea and cold brew, which our group really appreciated. Ryan and Blair also had the fireplace going for us prior to our arrival, so the cottage was warm when we arrived. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and spacious (there were 6 of us and we were very comfortable). Many items that we would typically bring with us were provided - basic ingredients for cooking, cookware, beach towels, board games, etc. We enjoyed snow shoeing, ice fishing, tobogganing and frequented the hot tub. We all really enjoyed ourselves and would love to return next year. I highly recommend Ryan and Blair's place for a fun and relaxing getaway!

    David2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Don't hesitate to book this cottage. We stayed in the winter and as a fairly experienced Airbnb'er this was by far the most well equipped cottage we've ever stayed at! The place was immaculate and organized. It's super easy to find, easy access to the lake, even by snowmobile. Kent is super fast in responding, although if I had read the book I wouldn't have had to ask any questions! 100% recommend.

  • We loved this cottage so much that we asked to stay an extra night! Kent was both accommodating and helpful in extending our booking. The space is absolutely perfect, warm, cozy and quaint. We had everything we needed including towels, sheets, cards and games to play. We were also close to all the fun winter sports/activities that Haliburton has to offer. Thanks again Kent!

All that's missing is you and your favourite people! All set and ready to go, this water front cottage has everything you'd hope. Located only 30 minutes north-east from the heart of Dorset on beautiful Troutspawn Lake. A short, but beautiful 15 minute drive to Algonquin Parks west gate. Cottage living is easy, sneak away from reality and we're sure you'll fall in-love.
The cottage is water front with the best, most gorgeous views of the lake. 5 large Muskoka chairs on the large deck outside of the sliding doors directly off of the living room, with 3 more located on the dock for your enjoyment (pairs very well with your favourite beverage). The screened in gazebo on the lower deck is furnished with a 7-piece patio set. A private swim platform with ladder for easy access, or stick above the water in the canoe or kayaks. Paddles and lifejackets are available for you to use. The dock is large, large enough to store multiple jet skis or two boats if you so wish. A boat launch is located at the ‘beach’ on the lake just a short drive down the road. There's a horseshoe pit with 4 horseshoes and scoreboard for some friendly competition, as well as flat land for other lawn games. A large outdoor fire pit with three benches for night time bonfires and smores. Firewood included. A BBQ with propane is available for you to use or the option for charcoal BBQing. The beach on the lake is small with a sandy entrance, but mainly gravel on the shore. Tons of ATV trails are easily accessible right from the cottage main road. Also don’t forget your fishing poles and tackle box! We ask that you bring your own linens (towels, bed sheets, blankets and pillows). You’re welcome to use the washer and dryer in the cottage for laundering. A 32-inch tv with DVD player is located in the the main cottage, as well as a 32-inch tv in the bunkie with a DVD and VCR player. A library of DVD’s are available for your enjoyment. An outdoor/indoor bluetooth stereo system is an awesome added feature. You're able to play your music via bluetooth or tune in to the radio. The gravel driveway is large enough to easily park 4 trucks. The kitchen is stocked with any of the dishes, utensils, pots, pans, can/bottle/wine opener, etc., that you may need. Also furnished with a microwave, full size oven, convection oven, coffee maker, dish washer, full sized fridge with freezer, mini fridge and stove top. Cell phone reception in the area is minimal to none. We however have installed a cell-phone booster to allow for calls and text messaging within the cottage. This is a great opportunity to unplug and relax.
If your looking to skip on cooking one night, we highly suggest "Pizza on earth" for amazing woodfire cooked pizza. While you're in town you can count on the famous "Robinson Store" to have anything you're looking for, from groceries to souvenirs to hardware items. A handful of other well known delicious restaurants can be found within the vicinity of Dorset. The community that surrounds Troutspawn Lake is known to be unlike any other lake community. Many owners are original and it must be the water, because everyone is incredibly friendly.. even their four-legged furry friends who may pop by to greet you.

  • Bryan's place was just as, if not even better, than the pictures displaying it. I had gone down with a few friends and the entire place felt very homey but also very modern and beautiful. I had an I credibly relaxing time there and cannot wait to return! If you are on the fence, book it! Bryan is a great host and his place will blow you away!

    Arvind2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with an amazing host. Hot tub and sauna was a huge plus! Great place to take in nature and away from that city life. Went to dorset (10 minutes away) and the locals were super friendly and helpful. Thinking of coming back in the summer. Thank you Bryan and Dave!

    Kevin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It is right off Hwy 35, 10 mins from Dorset and right near the Frost Centre/Trails

    Jocelyn2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bryan's place was very enjoyable! It was one of our better cottage experiences. Take in the beautiful morning view with the large windows overlooking the forest from the loft. The basement might need some airing out if the place was unoccupied before your arrival. We noticed a smell on the night we got there but it was gone by the morning after leaving 2 windows open just a crack. The main electrical breaker tripped a few times with just the sauna in use. I assume this trips from the water heater firing up after a shower and the sauna's own power draw as well. Try to space out your shower and sauna use (or adjust your timing) to avoid this. If the breaker does trip you might have to wait a few seconds to turn it back on. I think it's on a time delay and won't allow you to turn it back on for a few seconds (maybe a minute). Air quality is pretty standard for a cottage in winter. I would advise bringing a humidifier for the rooms you are sleeping in. The BBQ was very clean but the location isn't ideal. It's a bit of a walk (20 steps) from the closest accessible door if you are carrying things. I'm sure this isn't a problem in the summer but with the snow it became a little difficult going back and forth. The surrounding area is beautiful. There is a general store about 10-15 minutes away. If you continue down the same road all the way to the end (past the cottage) there are really nice trails. Enjoy your stay!

  • This place is absolutely AWESOME! From the wonderful high ceilings, fully equipped kitchen, sauna, hot tub, entertainment-- this cottage had every needed amenity. What made this stay magical was the babbling river out back and the nature-filled hikes surrounding the property. My group had an absolute blast, and Bryan did everything he could to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. We will absolutely look to return.

    John2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Pictures are true to the space. All beds are queen size, so bring appropriate sheets (exception to the single bunks)

    Emily2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful! Exactly what i expected! It looks just like the pictures. The amenities were very concise and easy to follow. Bryan replied in a timely manner and I really have no complaints. Please be weary that there’s no place to put garbage (only Recycling drop offs on Wednesday and Sunday’s). I’d love to come back and spend a longer time !

    Ryan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very relaxing stay at Rebecca's place. The suite is very spacious, clean and cozy with the fireplace. We especially enjoyed having our own private hot tub right outside the door. There were also many nice added touches like the soft, warm housecoats that were provided for our use and the edible treats that were left for us.

    Kathryn2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time - loved the snowy beautiful backyard, outdoor hot tub, and kitchen amenities.

    Urja2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our extra long weekend at Rebecca's. Her suite was warm and cozy and the hot tub was so nice after a day snowmobiling. It was a nice quiet getaway and exactly what we needed. We will definately be back!

    Kim2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca’s place was lovely! Very clean and lots of special little details. The hot tub was great to come back to after a day of skating and hiking in the cold.

    Shannon2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We returned to this lovely Dorset Airbnb and it was excellent, as expected. The cost has gone up a bit but it is still a good deal and Rebecca's service and touches are even better than before.

    Brian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca’s place was clean and comfortable, it exceeded our expectations. She left many special touches, including luxurious robes to keep us warm on our way to the hot tub. It’s no surprise that Rebecca is a super host as she was quick to respond and left detailed information about things to do, and places to eat in the area! It’s clear that she puts a lot of time and love into this spectacular AirBnb. We would be happy to return in the future!

  • Tricia's place was superb! It was very clean, nicely decorated complete with modern furnishings and fixtures. The grounds of the cottage are quite expansive and have something to keep everyone occupied. There is a campfire, kids area complete with basketball net and trampoline, various watercraft and the hot tub and sauna. It is only a short drive to the west gate of Algonquin Provincial Park where you can do a day trip and enjoy hiking and the bike trails. Some things to note: the host mentions that water at the cottage is not potable, so either bring bottled water to drink or use a portable water purification system. Also, keep the key with you. The door will automatically lock when the door closes unless you use the latch on the locking mechanism to keep it from locking. Tricia and her husband were excellent hosts; they were very helpful and responsive. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful lakeside retreat!

  • Amazing location and brilliant facilities provided. I stayed as part of a group of 4 and we had a wonderful time. I particularly loved stepping out of the lodge and within about 30 seconds, be off kayaking around the lake. The boys took to fishing from the canoe boat and I learnt how to light my first fire pit! All around amazing find!

  • A perfect hideaway to get away from it all! A really beautiful location with an amazingly well equipped kitchen (if you had a mind to do some baking you probably could!). Very cozy with the wood burning stove, and fantastic amenities with the hot tub, sauna and various watercraft. Really loved staying here surrounded by the lake, and would highly recommend!

Peter and Ashley are so responsive and helpful! It was honestly a very restful vacation, perfect for getting away from it all. • We stayed in the winter as our son had a snowboard competition nearby at Sir Sam’s. The hosts were very responsive and happy to answer any questions. Check in was easy. The cottage was spotlessly clean and was well stocked with everything we needed. We had a huge dumping of snow which was beautiful! Highly recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter.

    Susan2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Ashley’s cottage is wonderful! We had 6 people stay comfortably. The added powder room in the master bedroom is really nice when you have a full house. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was a great size for the 6 of us. The cottage is right on the lake and the view of the lake from the living room was beautiful! You are about 25 minutes from the nearest shop. Plenty to do around there in winter and we appreciated the welcome package with lots of great local suggestions for things to do and places to eat! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed.

  • This cottage couldn’t have been a better fit for our trip. It was right beside a local snowmobile trail, and also only a 10 minute sled to Haliburton forest, which for us was perfect. Geoff and Charlene’s place was a great cottage to relax in after a day of sledding; cozy and quaint. The space has a nice cottage feel but also modern in ways, with a gorgeous shower and not to mention the lovely heated bathroom floors. It’s right on the lake so as pretty as it was in the winter, I can only imagine it’s view in the summer. You won’t regret booking this cute little cottage, we had a great time and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a little getaway or just simply a place to stay.

From the prepared firewood to them making space for us to walk on the ice, I would go so far as to say that these two are definitely in my top 5 of hospitable AirBNB hosts! They're also really nice! Thank you both so much for providing such a beautiful cottage on Kennisis Lake for my friends and I to enjoy!

  • Our winter stay was magical in this warm beautifully located cottage. Our first day came with weather warnings, but without us even asking these hosts offered us an early checkin to make sure we got there safely. This cottage has everything you need for relaxing stay in a winter wonderland. Snowshoeing is right outside your door. Mother Nature was on our side with loads of fresh snow and a starry, starry night sky. Thanks for everything.

The house is nestled among Maple trees 5km from Algonquin Park. My guests are usually spending their days in Algonquin Park as there is so much to see and do. Everything in the Village of Whitney is within walking distance. People describe this space as very soothing and relaxing. A good place to regroup on your travels or after a day spent in Algonquin Park. The main floor has 2 bedrooms for guests and 1 bedroom for family or friends visiting. I live in the basement apartment.
I rent two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a Queen Bed and Netflix TV. The bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub, so bring some Epsom salts for a relaxing bath after a day of hiking. The bathroom, kitchen and living room is shared. All the bedrooms have a lock and your name is posted on the door. I live in the basement apartment and have a separate entrance.
I love that this street is quiet, you can walk on trails right behind the house or go to the lake to watch the sun set or rise. The beach is only 2km away and has a lovely view of sunsets. My neighbours are all friendly and private at the same time. I live on a peninsula surrounded by Galeairy Lake but I am on the hill amongst Maple trees. The lake is 11km long and 80% of it is in Algonquin Park. There are many interior camping sites on this lake and on an unoccupied one you can stop for a picnic. If you want to go canoeing on Galeairy Lake you can drive right up to the docks about 2km away. • Came here during late winter. Located in a quiet corner of town, the homely decor with the beautiful surrounds, Evelyne’s friendly reception, and many board games available made for a cozy night in. 10/10 would come again!

    Misha2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyne is truly a super host! One of our best experiences yet! From check-in to checkout 😁 If you are going to Algonquin this is the place to stay... A short drive to the parks east gate entrance.. we have stayed in other accommodations when traveling to Algonquin and this is by far the best.. you have a full kitchen so there is no need to eat out and it offers all of the comforts of home! Netflix in your room, cable in the living space and a warm shower after a long day of hiking!

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Evelyne’s place was a great stay after our long day in Algonquin park. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Communication was very quick and easy. Would highly recommend!

  • This place is wonderful. I would like to say everything was perfect but it was our first time getting to stay in a cottage far from the city. However, everything we carried with us that we thought we would need was already there. The place is full of equipment for anything you will ever need. I never thought like "if they had this it would be good". The place is basically perfectly thought of whatever you may need. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They were there every time I needed them. And they were very quick to solve issues. All in all if I had so much fun in winter in this place, I can't imagine going in summer. Definitely gonna be back here at another time.

Enjoy a quite stay on a wooded lot in the heart of cottage country! The cabins are conveniently located within walking distance to the lovely town of Dorset, Kawagama Lake and Lake of Bays. The scenic lookout tower, hiking, snowmobiling and ATV trails are all at our doorstep. In town you can find restaurants on the water, Robinson's General Store, a bakery and an LCBO. Come swim in the pristine waters, fawn over the fall colours or go for a rip on your snowmobile. It's all here to explore!
Maple Creek Cabins are quiet, clean and cozy. Chill out around your own campfire or cook up some dinner on your private use BBQ. Let our crisp white bedding and oxygen-rich air lull you to sleep under a star-filled sky. Keep it simple with a bowl of cereal or cook up a comfort food feast. Each room has WiFi and Satellite TV.
The property is off a quiet street with 2.5 acres of privacy. There are forests of old grand maple trees. Chipmunks, squirrels , woodpeckers and raccoons all living in harmony. There are deer and bears and moose but not as likely to be seen on the property. An old maple sugar shack is situated at the back of the property so you can see just how Canada'"s famous maple syrup is made.

Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We will be back.

  • WOW! Thats all my fiance and I can say about our stay with Cara. She is an amazing host and a great person to deal with. Don't let the size fool you, her cabin is designed and built with careful consideration to everything you'll need an expect from an off grid cabin. We loved the area and everything you can do there. We spent 3 days there and could've easily spent a week and still have things to do. We can not wait to go back! Thank you Cara for a memorable weekend.

  • Sandra & Dale are exceptional hosts. We truly felt like guests in their home. Their property is beautiful, relaxing and comfortable. From the moment we walked in the door they made us feel at home. The highlights of our trip were: paddling and swimming in the lake, conversing with Dale, Sandra and the other guests, & hiking in Algonquin Park. I was also very impressed with their knowledge of the area....from history lessons and suggestions of where to eat, hike, paddle and shop. The sign on their door truly captured our visit, "arrive as guests and leave as friends".

    Laura2019-07-19T00:00:00Z

The little Piece of Paradise cottage is located on Paradise Lake (Haas Lake on a map), about 5 km out of the main town, Haliburton where there is Fleming College, School of the Arts, Sir Sam's Ski and Bike, Stores, Shops, and Restaurants.
The Cottage has 20 feet of lake access and is a short 1 minute walk to the dock. The cottage property is an "L" shape and has a small lane-way separating the waterfront property to the cottage. There is a private dock to enjoy, a paddleboat, row boat, canoe, and kayak to enjoy the lake. There is a ladder to get into the water from the dock. Since it's a smaller lake the water is usually very warm all summer long, so great for swimming!! The waterfront is not sandy and there are weeds so for swimming we recommend using a floaty or the ladder and avoid touching the bottom. 5 km from the main town of Haliburton which has: Foodland, The Independent, Gas Stations, Restaurants (some include Subway, 2-4-1 Pizza, 2 Pub Style Restaurants, Breakfast Places (The Kozy Korner, the Donut Shop), Shops, Gas Stations, LCBO, The Beer Store, Jug City, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, etc. Sir Sam's Ski and Bike is about 22 km from the cottage.
The lane-way that the cottage is located on is very quiet and the lake is also usually quiet with few motor boats. The highway is close to the cottage but separated by forest so there is some road noise from traffic in the distance.
  • Cozy cottage with everything you need in kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable couches and good view of the lake. Very quiet weekend retreat. Hosts went out of their way to help get an extension cord rigged so we could plug in our diesel truck overnight (-29C).

  • The little piece of paradise surpassed its name for sure! We were so thankful for all the thoughtful touches added around the cottage. Would highly recommend staying here! Laura and Heiko are invested hosts who created an atmosphere to really enjoy what the cottage has to offer. Already thinking of coming back soon!

  • We had a great stay at Laura's place. The cottage was super clean, and there were many thoughtful touches throughout the property. Really comfortable stay, lots of little touches and amenities that went above and beyond. Great dock area, and location close to town. Laura was super communicative throughout the booking process. Thanks for a relaxing trip!

    Lia2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is perfect for a getaway from the city. The cottage is very clean and very very cute. The dock has an amazing gazebo, a paddle boat, paddle board and kayak! Laura was very easy to contact and always responded very quickly. I would highly recommend this cottage!

    Samantha2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a wonderful mini vacation at Laura and Heiko's. It truly is a little piece of paradise! The cottage was clean and very well appointed with everything you could need, and then some! We are currently expecting our first child, and Laura and Heiko were kind enough to provide a bottle of non-alcoholic wine for me, along with a bottle of their own personalized wine. It's located just a few minutes' drive from downtown Haliburton, but once you're there, you'd never know the town was so close. The waterfront deck is where I spent hours relaxing on the comfortable outdoor seating under the shade of the gazebo, either reading or just enjoying the sounds of nature. We were also lucky enough to get a visit from the resident chipmunk and various birds. We also made use of the kayak and paddle boat, and noted stand-up paddle boards were available, but didn't get a chance to use them. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning—next time with our little one in tow!

  • Amazing location, and great for a family trip or a trip with friends! Bruce had kayaks, a canoe and a tin boat which made the stay very enjoyable!

    Sebastien2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at Bruce's cottage. Beautiful, quiet and stocked with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away! Area is beautiful, and there are great hikes just a few minutes drive away. Bruce was quick to answer any questions we had. Would recommend for a weekend getaway!

    Jess2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage, cosy and quiet. The favourite in the autumn season is the indoor fireplace, very easy to setup and enjoy the family time

    Ken2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is very cozy and set up perfectly for a weekend away. The added bonus of the tin boat, canoe and kayaks make activities endless. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchenware. The indoor and outdoor fireplaces are a great addition with plenty of wood to use. The cottage is located further down from what google maps indicated, but the number is well marked. We really enjoyed our stay.

    Lara2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Bruce’s cabin was so much fun! He has everything you need to have a good time! As well as a great view!

    Sarah2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce’s place is great, very authentic cottage experience. The cottage has a huge fireplace and has a very rustic and homely feel, this was the highlight for my family and I. Also having boats to use is a really nice bonus, being able to get out on the lake was a lot of fun. If you want a laid back, back to basic cottage experience, this is your place.

  • Cottage was great! Everything we expected. Would definitely come back.

  • One of, if not the best cottage location that we've been to! We absolutely lovedd the location and the amenities were fantastic as well.

    Alexandra2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A great destination full of beauty and serenity. Inside the cottage had everything but the majority of our time was spent soaking up the sights, sounds and smells outside. The only thing we forgot to bring was marshmallows to roast over the open fire!

"The Getaway" is a bright, contemporary open-concept space on pristine Lake Kawagama just 10 minutes from Dorset. It is nestled amongst mature trees for privacy and south facing within a small Bay looking directly onto Crown land. The cottage sleeps up to 6 adults or up to 8 people incl. children. Enjoy unlimited wifi or unplug altogether for family time. Summer 2020 - Full weeks only, Friday - Friday
About the cottage: You will enter the cottage through our screened in sun room, then into a vaulted open concept main floor. This floor includes the living room (with a smart TV to access Netflix), dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (with queen beds) and a bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need to make fabulous meals. Downstairs is clean and dry and you'll find 2 cute bedrooms with bunk beds, an additional rec space and a laundry room. From the lower level of the cottage a wooden staircase with 20 steps will bring you to the ground. New granite steps (49) will lead you down to the water to enjoy the south facing docks. About the waterfront: The water's edge has a large dock that basks in all day sun but has welcome shade too under the trees. Off the end of the dock is deep water for diving or cannon balls but off to the side, there are stairs as well. 2 kayaks and a canoe will allow you to get out on the water for paddling or fishing. The cottage is in a small, quiet bay with easy access to the larger part of the lake for miles of boating. About the Lake: Kawagama is Haliburton’s largest lake, boasting excellent water quality. This hidden gem has a natural shoreline that remains 30% untouched Crown Land. Kawagama is fed at the top by Algonquin Park, has a max depth of 225 feet with an average depth of 21 feet and eventually flows into the Lake of Bays. What’s near by: We are conveniently located less than 10 minutes to the town of Dorset with renowned Robinson's Country Store (voted Canada's Best Country Store), a bank, restaurants, pharmacy, ice cream shop and an LCBO. Climb the Dorset tower to see 360 views of Muskoka and Algonquin Highlands. If you're a golf enthusiast, world-class Bigwin and Deerhurst courses are 30 minutes away and Algonquin Park is 40 minutes door to door.
The Kawagama Lake has the same landscape as the Muskokas - tall pines, rolling hills, exposed granite and deep, clean lakes with great fishing. Although the marina is right around the corner, the high granite ridge separating us which means you'll never see or hear marina boat traffic. Due to the uniqueness of the area, it takes 5 minutes to walk or drive there. Take the kids to check out the boats and grab an ice cream! The local town of Dorset, less than 10-minutes away, is a gateway to the rest of the Muskokas and Algonquin Park.
  • The cottage is clean, beautifully decorated and very well stocked. The lake is deep, clear and perfect for swimming, kayaking, fishing and boating. A quiet and beautiful lake. The cottage is quite high, a good hike from the dock. The firepit is above the cottage, not close to the lake. The last part of the road to the cottage is quite steep and narrow; we became used to it but it did give us pause initially. The host was very caring and responsive. All and all a wonderful getaway!!

    Sharon2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful experience! From the location of the cottage (3 mins to Dorset) to all of the extra touches (labels, instructions, fancy pots and pans, kayaks, great beds... to name a few!) this cottage has everything you are looking for in an easy getaway. The hosts have set the cottage up so that from arrival to departure everything is seamless and easy to figure out. Not to mention the stunning views and picturesque red Muskoka chairs everywhere... We had a great time!

    Brooke2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything was new and clean and we really liked the new steps leading down to the dock. I especially liked the storage area in each bedroom to keep our stuff. Lots of hooks and shelves and drawers in the kids rooms. All very practical touches and a simple and clean design. We have rented various cottages over the years and this is the first one we would probably go to again.

    Linda2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was great - everything you could need and more. Very comfortably decorated, modern & spacious with many amenities provided. Lovely upper deck to sit and enjoy the sunshine or the stillness of the evening. The waterfront is on a quiet bay with room for your boat at the dock, lots of space to lounge & soak up the sun and good swimming. Having the kayaks & a canoe for use was a bonus. Friendly & helpful hosts made it a pleasure. We had a great time and would certainly recommend this place. As Kawagama Lake Alum we truly felt right at home both inside the cottage & out.

  • This cottage is beautiful - the best we have been to in Ontario for value. The location is perfect, the views are great and the best part is the dock has the sun all day. The cottage itself has everything you need and is modern and spacious. Loved that there was a canoe and kayaks for us to use. We had a great time and would highly recommend this place!

    Emma2018-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • We are experienced cottage and AIRBNB renters, having done so at least 15 times before, mostly for cottages in Ontario. This place was the best we have ever rented. Very well kept. Great design. Tons of amenities. Very clean. Great location with lots to do and lots of extras. Quiet bay, with good swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and a wonderful view from multiple decks. A GREAT cottage in a great location. Very fine , friendly and helpful hosts. Our highest recommendation. We wouldnt hesitate to rent this again in a minute.

I had a few questions and Aaron always got back to me very quickly and was very helpful. This cottage had everything we needed and is in a beautiful spot! The wall of windows provided tons of natural light and an amazing view. I would love to come back and stay at this cottage during the summer because I imagine the lake/property/view is even more stunning. Thanks for a great stay!

  • Aaron and Carol Ann’s place is a real gem. It’s exactly as it looks in the photos with a great large open concept kitchen and living and dining room with tons of natural light. Aaron was really quick with responding to any questions and let us check in early as we were traveling a good distance to get there. The fire was roaring when we got there, which was a nice touch. Miskwabi Lake is beautiful in the winter so I can only imagine how nice it is in summer. Overall the place is fantastic, neighbors are nice and very helpful and the hosts are 10/10. Couldn’t have asked for more. Thanks Aaron and Carol Ann!

We would really recommend the cottage to any future guests. Thanks again for making our stay so special!

  • This place is worth every penny in every way. Super clean, spacious and well provisioned. We had the perfect family weekend here, celebrating Christmas and already talked about coming back in the summer . Our host Roland and his wife added thoughtful touches including a decorated tree for the occasion and were super fast and thorough in communicating all essential information. We played pool, games, sat by the soaring fire and walked for hours across the beautiful Lake.... memories we will cherish forever.

  • We stayed at Rolands place for a weekend get away with friends and our babies! My first reaction to the cottage which I was extremely happy with was that it was very clean! With two babies crawling around we really appreciated that! I’ve stayed at many Airbnb’s and the worst thing is to walk into a dirty place! This cottage was very clean and that made me very happy! Close to town for anything you needed! Being on the water was nice and the cottage was comfortable. Kitchen was good to as we cooked two meals a day there!! Couches were comfy and enjoy the Netflix for when the babies went to sleep! Fire pit was nice to! Roland also allowed us an earlier check in and we appreciated that also! He was good with communicating as well! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

    Maria2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great week at the cottage. It was spacious. The view was beautiful! Super close to town and Roland was available for help very quickly if needed! Would definitely recommend to family or friends!

    Jessica2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at Roland's cottage! The water was excellent for swimming, minimal weeds and a very quiet part of the lake. With 4 young children (ages 3-8) I was worried about boat traffic but there wasn't any at all. The lily pad swim mat was awesome for the kids as well. We had one rainy day, which was spent reading in the screened room. The cool breeze and the sound of the rain falling could not have been more perfect.

  • Our week long stay was more than “Just Right” - it was absolutely perfect (weather included). The cottage is so fresh and clean and comfortable. The decor is new and modern but still has that cozy cottagey feel. We were impressed with the extras provided. The kitchen is fully equipped, the spa-like bathroom is complete with toiletries and robes, and even blanket wraps are provided when sitting outside on these now crisp fall mornings and cooler evenings. The upper deck and dock are large and new with perfect seating arrangements for just enjoying the gorgeous lake views and changing colours of the trees. Every detail to make ones stay enjoyable and comfortable has truly been thought of. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to enjoy your little slice of paradise at “Just Right”.

  • Awesome stay! A very well appointed cottage, on a beautiful lake!

  • If you want luxury book “Just Right”, this property far by exceeded our expectations, from walking in and being met with a beautiful clean smell and being exceptionally well cleaned (and I’m fussy!) We had the most relaxing stay, we loved the comfy beds and fluffy towels. The kitchen had everything you may need. Then the outside space was fantastic and well maintained. As a family with young children (3 and 6 years old) we really appreciated the use of a washing machine and dryer. Any questions we had before and during our stay were answered quickly. Thank you for everything.

  • My family and I just returned from our second visit to Just Right. We had a wonderful time again at this beautiful cottage. Every detail is thought out to make the visit enjoyable for the guests. Since we visited last year, they put in new kitchen appliances, a laundry room, and a new deck. Cooking in the kitchen is a pleasure with everything you could possibly need. We took advantage of the kayak, paddle board, and canoes each day. The beds are so comfortable and we had great sleeps after being on the dock all day. It was a pleasure to visit and hope to return in the future. Beautiful cottage on beautiful lake.

  • This cottage is amazing. Do not hesitate for one minute to book it. The cottage was spotless when we arrived. Snez has left beautiful toiletries (like a hotel), clean robes and slippers. The dock has sun all day, there are toys for the lake, and the outdoor furniture is gorgeous. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the upper deck on the very luxe outdoor couches. It’s about 30 min to Haliburton if you feel like getting out for an hour or two. I can’t review this cottage highly enough. It’s modern but still cottagey. Book it!!! Oh and we were one couple, our 6 month baby and our nanny. Lots of room and privacy with the bunkie.

  • Heaven - "Just Right" really does describe this property. Far enough away from the minor road, far enough away from the lake side, secluded yet with an intriguing view through the pines to the lake, ample accommodation for a family of 4, multiple dining options - inside, on the balcony or down by the lakeside on the deck. Really thoughtful equipping - a kitchen with top range oven/hob & combi-microwave, fridge and (a personal bug-bear) wonderfully sharp knives for food prep. A good sized bathroom decked out like a spa - wash away the lake water in the shower or luxuriate in the bath. For leisurely days reading by the lake to more active days exploring the multiple lakes in the provided kayak, canoes and paddle board this place caters for all. With all this on offer it is difficult to think about venturing far but Snez highlighted the local attractions to us - we enjoyed the Husky cuddling session, we were transfixed by the Wolf enclosure and we had planned to do more at the Haliburton Forest reserve - just couldn't drag ourselves away from Just Right anymore. Cannot exaggerate how wonderfully relaxed we found ourselves at the end of our stay - no mean feat considering we've a 15 yr old boy and an 18 yr old girl with us. We all agreed that this was the best airbnb we have stayed in to date. Thank you so much Snez & Voja, we so hope to be back!

  • We had a wonderful stay with our family. The location is breathtaking. The lake water around the dock was weed free and great for swimming. We enjoyed the paddle board, kayaks and canoes daily. The cottage is sparkling clean, with high quality furnishings and touches. You can tell the hosts put a lot of care into making sure their guests are very comfortable during their stay. We highly recommend!

  • Pamela was a wonderful host! She was extremely pleasant, responded quickly to all of our messages, came and greeted us at the car, had the apartment heated up for us and recommended things to do in town. The apartment was spotless and perfect. Had everything we needed - extra blankets included! We would highly recommend going in the winter when there is a full moon! The site was stunning! Thanks Pamela and Hugh! We will be back!

  • We booked the cottage about 6 months in advance and Cheryl was great at communicating with me throughout those months and quickly answered any questions I had. The cottage is so amazing, we all had a great time and are looking forward to potentially returning next year! So many great memories were made on this amazing property, I would highly recommend renting!

    Sydney2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable and well equipped cottage! It was great for our group of 6 adults - we especially enjoyed using the paddle boards, bbq and large fire pit. The nearby hiking trails (within walking distance) are also worth checking out! Cheryl was also a great host and very response to our questions.

    Alexandra2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place on a beautiful quite lake, great fishing, and paddle boarding!

    Mark2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great place to spend the long weekend and we managed to be comfortable with 8 adults 3 small babies and two dogs. The fire pit was great and the kitchen had everything you needed. I would definitely consider booking again.

  • Could you imagine to spend 3 days with your kids in a house in front of a lake in Canada? Could you imagine to be alone in the middle of the lake surrounded by a perfect landscape? Could you imagine how happy would be your kids with kayaks and paddlesurf for them during the whole day? At Cheryl's house our dreams became real.

    Oriol2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place in a beautiful area with lots of activities on spot. Even though the lake dock is across the road, it is quite spacious. The lake has good shallow area which is perfect for kids! Huge backyard with fire pit. Lovely place overall.

    Anna2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was amazing, extra amenities were fantastic and great for the kids. Paddle boards, kayaks, fire pit, BBQ and all the other kitchen supplies you would need were available. Communication was exceptional and she went above and beyond to ensure that I received my iPad and kindle that I left behind in a timely manner before leaving Canada. I would definitely recommend to friends and family and hope to stay again!
