Boating, fishing, and swimming are just a few ways to enjoy the natural beauty of Sandbanks Provincial Park on Lake Ontario, and there are more than 300 bird species to spot in the wider region, from songbirds to hawks.

But the scenery isn’t the only thing to note here. The region’s thriving food scene focuses on fresh local seafood, including salmon. And with more than 35 wineries, you’ll also find plenty of places to try cool-climate varieties such as pinot noir and chardonnay. The Arts Trail features the work of ceramics specialists, photographers, and painters all over the region — just follow the blue signs.
