The Blacksmith's bothy is a traditional black house with thick lime washed stone walls. These compliment a modern kitchen and wood burning stove. Set in a peaceful location, the building is over 100 years old. It is surrounded by croft land and spectacular cliff top walks. Situated very close to Spar cave and 5 minutes drive to Elgol. A private, screened deck area and hot tub is adjacent to the bothy with sea views through a wooded glade. Perfect as a romantic retreat.
The Blacksmith's bothy is a renovated traditional old blackhouse bursting with character. You will find a bright clean space containing a brand new kitchen, a dining area, rocking chair, state of the art CD player music system with a wide variety of music, a battery operated DVD player and selection of films as well as a beautiful bespoke day bed so you can be cosy and comfortable in front of the wood burning stove whether having a romantic evening or relaxing during the day. The house is decorated to reflect the owners passions for art. Some of the prints are the owners own work. There is also a display of blacksmith tools from his own workshop. Creative workshops are available by request if booked in advance but the bothy is a completely private space for you to enjoy and relax. The kitchen is equipped for you to fully self cater and contains a microwave, a fridge and two electric hobs. There is also a kettle , toaster and a cafetière for coffee. You will not however find an oven, a grill or a freezer. We want to make you aware of this so you can plan your shopping. There is a small ice box which would fit one or two items only. Adjacent to the bothy you will find a raised deck area with a wood fired hot tub lit with fairy lights and optional insect screening. Also you can enjoy dining out at a table with two chairs and a bbq. A selection of wetsuits are available to borrow should you wish to swim in the sea at the bottom of the croft.
Glasnakille is a spectacular secluded village in South Skye with commanding views over Loch Slapin towards the Sleat Peninsula. There are also views of the small isles of Eigg and Rum nearby. `The mountains of knoydart can be seen in the distance. There are very quiet roads on which it is possible to walk or jog. You can walk the coastal path to Kilmarie which then takes you into Camasunary bay and the heart of the Cuillin . It is possible to have a quiet stroll or a big adventure without even taking the car. However Elgol is a five minute drive away with its famous boat trips to Loch Coruisk. Stunning views of the Cuillin can be seen along with walks to Prince Charlie's cave and amazing honeycomb cliffs near the pier. Glasnakille is home of spar cave, a 50metre long cave which can only be accessed at low tide. It has a fascinating flowstone staircase contained within it. Our nearest supermarket is 15 miles away. The co operative supermarket in Broadford is open till ten pm. This is also where you will find a 24 hour petrol station. However our area is remote and peaceful and there are no shops or restaurants or pubs within walking distance. We believe this just adds to its charm however. Bookings can be made for evening meals at Coruisk house in Elgol but these need to be made well in advance.
  • James is an amazing host, so friendly and hospitable. Location is beautiful and the bothy is stunning. 5 star🌟

    Charlotte2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy is a beautiful, quaint and cosy space situated in a remote yet accessible location. The surrounding scenery and trails are breathtaking and the wood burning stove and hot tub made this an unforgettable stay. James was quick to respond to any questions and was extremely friendly and inviting. Highly recommended.

    Conor2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Lovely views and plenty of local walks near, very peaceful and relaxing. Was good to have the log burner with the cold weather would definately go back.

    Craig2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The bothy is in a lovely remote part of Skye. Very cosy. James really went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. 😊 thanks!

    Tula2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay!

    Sam2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully cosy space perfectly suited to an island adventure on stunning Skye. Would definitely book again 😊

    Lisa2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic, secluded place to stay in an out of the way place with lovely scenery. Log burner was lovely after being out in the rain all day! James was a great host and very friendly, his directions were easy to follow and we found it with no problem. Go well prepared and stock up with food, nearest shops are 30 mins away in winter months! Would recommend for a restful, away from it all, few days.

    Jane2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • James's place was wonderful. We wanted peace and quiet and that was exactly what we got. We arrived in the dark so didn't see much of the view from the drive down. But the following day was a real treat! The directions to the Bothy were clear and precise and we found it in the dark with very little trouble. Logs and kindling were plentiful, so each evening we had a fire and heated up the hot tub twice. The shower and toilet were very clean and only a short walk away from the Bothy. A great place to stay, fantastic location and well worth the drive from the village.

Angels’ Share is an architect designed contemporary cottage over looking Knock Bay and the ruins of Knock Castle. There is spacious accommodation for two people, with room for two children or two “small adults” on a sofa bed. The cottage is situated on the Sleat peninsula known as the Garden of Skye. The cottage is not far from from the Skye Bridge and the mainland ferry ports. It makes a great base for exploring the whole of Skye's beautiful scenery.
There is electric heating throughout (under floor in the shower room) and a wood burning stove for those colder evenings. A welcome pack and an initial supply of fuel for the stove. We allow pets by arrangement.
The cottage is next to Skye newest Whisky Distillery (Torabhaig) which is certainly worth a visit. The drive to the cottage from either the ferry port (Armadale) or the Skye Bridge takes you through stunning countryside with magnificent views across the Sound of Sleat to the mountains of the Scottish mainland.
  • John and Mhairi were amazing hosts. Angels Share is a gem within a beautiful island. Their thoughtful were greatly appreciated and made the cottage a pleasure to stay in.

    Maxine2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great accomodation, everything you need and quiet relaxing place. John provides lots of lovely personal touches that make you feel very welcome. We stayed for 4 nights and it was the perfect base from which to explore Skye.

  • John and Mhairi have created a fantastic space with the most thoughtful touches to create a home when exploring the beautiful isle of skye. Nice and tucked away, the place is modern, amazingly clean and stylish throughout with a real Scottish feel. By far the nicest Airbnb ever stayed in and would recommend to anybody.

    Matt2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! Beautifully decorated, warm & comfortable, stunning location & full of lovely little touches which made us feel like we were staying in a fancy boutique hotel! John & Mhairi were wonderfully welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfy, and the house was equipped with everything from coffee maker to an Alexa. Very close to Torabhaig distillery, the beach & the ruins of Knock Castle, so stuff to do close by. Couldn't quite believe the quality of this place, thanks so much for our amazing holiday!

    Ben2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a very chilled 3 night stay at Angels Share. The accommodation is immaculate and kitted out with everything you’d possibly need. An ideal base for exploring the beautiful island of Skye. We loved sitting by the fire and chilling while watching the storm outside. John and Mhairi were excellent hosts giving a friendly check-in and thoughtful welcome pack. We’ll definitely be back.

    Robert2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Angels Share. The weather let us down (thanks Storm Ciara) but the cottage was a beautiful base from which to have windy rejuvenating walks on the beach, great food at the nearby Am Praban bar. The wood burning stove and welcome pack were much appreciated when we were wet and cold :) we loved our weekend away and would definitely stay again. Dog friendly too!

    Becca2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Angels Share. John and Mhairi were excellent hosts who gave us complete space and privacy to enjoy their accommodation but we knew they were right there if we needed them, and we didn’t! Angels Share has all you could want or need and more, it’s packed with thoughtful and homely touches, providing everything to connect you with the modern world but also everything to occupy you if you want to disconnect - the best of both worlds! We have already been recommending Angels to friends and family and would recommend it to everyone. We can’t wait to return.

    Melissa2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend :) It was a pleasure to spend these days with my wife in John and Mhairi’s cottage which is equipped with absolutely everything that could possibly be needed. The house is very nice, clean and tidy with a fireplace which makes you feel cosy. It is located near to the store and about 40 minutes to Portree. We loved this place because it feels like home away from home, was made with passion and attention to every detail. We are grateful for the help and warm welcome! Thank you!

The Airigh (pronounced 'arry) at the Black House was designed by award-winning architects Dualchas to provide peaceful self catering accommodation for two. Set right on the coast, with stunning views across the Sound of Sleat towards the mountains of Knoydart, and only a few minutes walk from the Armadale ferry, it is the perfect base for a relaxed stay on Skye. Enjoy the spectacular view through the huge picture window, and as the sun sets, cosy up in front of the wood-burning stove.
The bedroom is compact but comfortable, with a king-sized bed and clothes storage unit The shower-room has under-floor heating, and a heated towel rail for the luxurious cotton bath sheets. The kitchen area is compact but well-equipped with induction hob and oven, as well as a microwave and fridge/freezer.
Sleat is known as the Garden of Skye and is a beautiful peninsular, with great views to both the mainland and the Cuillin hills on Skye. Armadale has a well-stocked local shop, petrol pumps, a garage that also hires cars. The Clan Donald Centre has a cafe/restaurant, bar and a museum in the beautiful gardens. The Inn at Ardvasar also has a bar and restaurant. There are good walks in the woods and hills, and locally along the coast, where you can often spot otters and seals as well as oystercatchers, heron and other sea-birds. South Skye Sea Kayaks offer kayak trips for all abilities, and bicycles are for hire locally at Teangue.
  • An incredible space with amazing views! We absolutely loved staying here, could not fault it.

    Lorna2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space in an amazing location. Prefect for the ferry and ideal if exploring the rest of Skye. Modern, clean and cosy and the view was unreal, didn't feel the need to turn on the TV once. Great stay

    Kerry2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cordelia and Julien were incredible hosts, the house is really easy to locate, immaculately clean and they have great knowledge of local amenities. We were really interested in their annex/home and how they built them and they gave us so much information and things to think of. The views really are just like the pictures, you can sit there and watch the day go by as the weather changes. The house has everything you would possibly want and is really spacious and warm. The fire is great! They were great at responding to messages and flexible with our arrival. We hugely recommend this place to stay for visitors to Skye (we took the ferry over from Mallaig following driving up from Glasgow - which is a really easy and straight forward journey). Thanks to you both for our wonderful stay!

    Philippa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay with absolutely amazing views. Cordelia is a great host, and the house has everything you need.

    Greg2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. Very well designed and thought through. Very contemporary look outside and inside. Views from the main window are just stunning!

    Arek2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing place. The house itself is incredibly stylish and comfortable but it is the views that set this place apart. Spectacular.

    Melanie2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Breath taking views, easy check in and a super friendly host

    Dean2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far the best Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The house is beautiful and cosy with everything you could possibly need including a great shower, comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and underfloor heating. The bits that make it extra special are the wood burner and incredible views of Skye - we whiled away our mornings just drinking coffee with the fire on and looking out at the ever changing scenery. Cordelia was a lovely host, responsive, helpful and friendly. We can’t recommend it highly enough, and we’re already planning our return trip to this is little gem.

Covid-19 Coronavirus: For the time being, to protect our very fragile health service and the many older and vulnerable residents of this small island, I am not taking any new bookings for May/June, when I will review again. Who knows what lies ahead for all of us, but please save my wee Bothy to your favourites and when the time is right, come and visit us. In the meantime, stay safe, stay home, wash your hands and use the time to plan your future trip to Skye. Thank you.
The Strawbale Bothy is made from simple, natural materials; wood, clay, straw and lime, there are no nasty chemicals, no concrete, and where we have had to use plastic, it is to an absolute minimum. A perfect place for two to slow down and watch the view. We’re sure you will love the feel of staying in a natural home, the softness of the clay plaster walls, the luminous light of the lime washed shower room and the warmth of local larch wood. There is a light and airy living area with an electric stove, Bluetooth speaker, books and games to keep you entertained if you get bored of the stunning views over to the hills of Knoydart. There is a small kitchen area with induction hob, combination microwave oven, washer dryer and all the other things you would expect to find. There is a cosy box bed, dressed with a duck down duvet, soft, relaxed French linen and Egyptian cotton. From your bed you can stare at the stars at night or watch the sunrise in the morning. You also have a spacious en suite shower room with traditional flush toilet. The Strawbale Bothy is exactly what it says, it is a loadbearing strawbale building built on foundations made from car tyres filled with rammed gravel. We’ve tried to make sure this wee building has as low an impact on the planet as possible. We have not used any concrete in its construction, practically everything can be recycled or biodegradable, we've only used plastic where there has been no alternatives or the alternatives are a bit, well - yeuch! Try plastic free showering with handmade soap and solid shampoo by local Scottish artisans. Feel doubly virtuous by washing up and only using natural bristle brushes and cotton dish cloths. Booking and Availability: Covid-19 Coronavirus: It is a worrying, uncertain time so if you are thinking of booking, here are a few points to help you decide: I have made some changes to the Bothy. My place is frequently rated as 'sparkling clean', but I have introduced some additional, non environmentally friendly measures, just to make sure. This includes cleaning with bleach based disinfectants and single use paper cloths. Replacing artisan locally made solid soap with liquid soap in single use plastic bottles (when I can get them). Replacing vintage and handmade crockery and cutlery with dishwasher proof items - all crockery and cutlery goes through a hot wash in a dishwasher between guests. Washing bedlinen and towels at a higher temperature with biological powder. Lining bins with single use plastic liners. My cancellation policy will remain as 'Strict'. However, please check Airbnb's Extenuation Circumstances Policy. This tells you when you can get a full refund if your trip is affected by the Coronavirus. I really believe this to be fair. If you contract the virus, or have to self isolate, or your flights have been cancelled, or the Government has imposed restrictions, or your doctor has advised you not to travel, then you can claim a full refund under the Policy (correct at the time of writing 14 March). Alternatively, if you do book and then decide you would prefer not travel at that time, rather than cancel your trip and possibly lose your money, you could consider changing your dates until later in the year, just request a 'change of dates' and subject to availability, I'd be happy to organise it. If however, you wish to cancel because, for example, the weather is not looking good, then the usual cancellation policy will apply. So, if you are curious about what it would be like to stay in a home made without concrete, bricks and plastic, and stay on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, we would love to meet you.
  • Super stay at the straw bale Bothy! It’s warm and cosy, has great views of mountains and the sea, and is so peaceful! It’s a good base for sightseeing on the Island, which is stunning! Our stay coincided with beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown but Nicola was so kind and reassuring, she has taken every step to make sure the Bothy is super clean and safe, we wish we could have stayed up here in the fresh air rather then go back to the city!

    Vicky2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola’s bothy was an amazing place to stay for our visit to Skye. Really comfy and unique place in a great location. The surrounding views are amazing and it was lovely to get home after a tiring day and relax there! Nicola couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly! Would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone visiting Skye!

    Graham2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this Bothy. I had such an incredible time here. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind, but also to use as a base for exploring Skye, even in winter! The bothy itself had all the things I needed, with little thoughtful and personal touches from Nicola that made it all the more special and relaxing. It is in a great location. Waking up every morning and watching the sunrise over the mountains from the bedroom window, to stargazing outside on a clear evening. It is a beautiful place. Nicola was incredibly attentive and thoughtful, which just made my time at the bothy special and seamless. Her vegan chocolate brownies were also to die for! I will definitely be returning to this bothy!

    Olivia2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • a magical place in a small corner of the island, I highly recommend clean and comfortable, well decorated

    Isabelle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola’s place is lovely, full of thoughtful touches and amazingly clean. It’s a beautiful place to stay if you want a lovely chilled week end away. It’s a very comfortable and cosy place.. you will feel at home straight away. Nicola’s place is located in a lovely spot close to the beach and local amenities. Nicola is a lovely host and was always available if we needed anything. She welcomed us with incredibly tasty cakes and gave us a lot information regarding places to visit. We absolutely loved everything about our stay and would definitely go back again. Thank you Nicola !

    Virginia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Strawbale Bothy is a real authentique detailed and handmade home for all kind of travellers. It's made for two people and if they are not related it could be interesting in the cosy bed. I like the fact, that there is no TV in the bothy and that you recognize the owner in every detail of the bothy. Nicola welcomed us very warm and kindly. We got a very nice talk and she gave us nice tips for our short trip through the Isle. Well, I could write a whole more of the bothy, but at least just this: Go there and fall in love like we did! Thank you Nicola, we will definetly come back again.

    Phil2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place is absolutely amazing with a stunning view over the sea! We could even sit outside and watch the stairs in the night. Super cosy and well-decorated place with plenty of space for two people, we didn't need anything, everything was just perfect and Nicole was such a lovely host.

    Line2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy bothy, a work of art! Everything was in great working order and it was lovely and clean. Nicola made everything beautiful and welcoming. Her flapjacks are 10/10!

Newly built 2 person cabins built in sasaig south Skye, mountain and sea views, looking over knock bay ,10 min from armadale ferry and 15min for broadford which has amenities such as petrol station, coop, post office ,chemist .great base to explore the island over 2 or 3 days
  • Rebecca's place is just off the main road - Google maps wanted us to turn off before it so just be aware that you don't have to. Rebecca met us for check in which was very easy and she was able to give us details of the local area. Parking is on site with a short walk on a grass and stone chip path to the cabin which has a couple of steps to enter. The first thing you see is the view - it is absolutely stunning in any weather and incredibly peaceful. The cabin itself is heated with a fire effect electric heater which was able to keep the cabin warm despite the cold weather we had. It has a double bed with room under it to store bags, a chair and bedside cabinet. The small kitchen has a microwave (with microwavable egg and soup pots available) kettle and toaster and a good sized fridge with a small freezer built in. There is tea, coffee, sugar and small portions of milk provided. The shower itself is spacious and has a good toilet and sink. It is a perfect size for 1 or 2 people to base themselves with the local store and post office, Armadale Castle and a distillery all within a couple of minutes drive. The closest larger store is the co-op in Broadford. We were able to eat our evening meals locally within a few minutes drive. The cabin gets very light in the morning which was beautiful when the sun shone through and although we didn't take advantage of the outside seating area this is perfect to enjoy the view. We had a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

    Angela2020-03-14T00:00:00Z

    Sebastian2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • one of the loveliest airbnb’s i’ve stayed at, so much attention to detail (freshly laid eggs from the chickens on the land!) and the interior was beautiful! also, despite it being stormy when we visited, the croft remained warm the entire time. would highly recommend staying here :)

Beautifully renovated old croft house with stunning views to Eigg and Rum and Knoydart. A wonderful base in Sleat "the garden of Skye" to explore this magical island. Sleeps 4. Dogs welcome. A real home from home which you will long to return to. Short breaks Nov-Feb only. Saturday changeover day.
The Old Croft House has a real home from home feel to it. We have furnished and kitted it out with everything we feel anyone will need in their holiday home, and we have tried to think of everything people might want to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The stunning views, the wonderful light and large sky, the peace and quiet, the ever changing weather, the sheep and cows.....
  • I defy you to find a cosier croft on Skye than this little gem - perched on a green hillock overlooking sea and sky, it’s certainly remote which is what we were looking for, but at the same time welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. We enjoyed walks all over the island despite Storm Dennis but especially loved coming back each evening to our cosy nook. And I bet it is even more magical in the summer!

    Lucy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cozy cottage. Stunning location, fantastic views. Private and quiet. A great secure large garden for our little dog to run around safely in. Only a 2 minute walk from the garden down the field to the private cove. Everything well catered for, a real home from home. We loved our stay.

    Maggie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Alison's cottage was cosy, warm and felt just like home with bread and cookies waiting for us on our arrival! Everything you might need during your stay you will find in the cottage, there is plenty of room and our dog loved it there, too! The whole cottage is surrounded by a fence so the dog couldn't get away. The area around the cottage is beautiful and peaceful. Keep in mind that the single track road is sometimes very steep and narrow though! Thank you, Alison, for a wonderful time!! We would love to come back!

    Valeska2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing time at this well appointed cosy cottage, which feels very homely. There is only the sounds of nature and beautiful views of Eigg and the Knoydart peninsula for company. We saw eagles, deer, otters and seals in Skye. The single track roads are a rollercoaster, just like the weather - all part of the rugged charm of the place. Thank you for the supplies awaiting us after our epic journey here from South coast England!!

  • The Old Croft House is a beautiful little cottage for those wishing to retreat into the beautiful scenery of this quiet corner of the island or for those planning to explore Skye more widely by car. The area around the cottage itself is beautiful with incredible views and great walks / hilly runs down to the nearby beaches. We spent some lovey mornings around the house but most of our time driving to other parts of the island for walks and lovely dinners. Strongly recommend doing this as there is so much to see and although you’ll spend some hours behind the wheel of the car the scenery is so breathtaking and the roads interesting enough that it won’t feel like time wasted. Getting a copy of the Good Food Guide will also serve you well as when we visited in 2019 there were more than enough restaurants on Skye that had made the cut for this national book of Britain’s best eating spots. In terms of the house, it was warm, comfortable and clean. Beautiful views, very well located and in-keeping with the wider aesthetic. Loved it!

  • What a gorgeous cottage. It's everything you could ask for. Stunning views and great access to the rest of the wonderful Isle of Skye. Would highly recommend.

  • Breath taking views on arrival, the setting is much more amazing than what can be caught on camera. We used it as a base to stay for walking, whiskey tours and exploring the island. There is a great bar and restaurant with fresh food 10 minutes drive down the road for an evening out, it also has a side bar that has sports etc. We would definitely recommend this little cottage to anyone looking for a quiet and remote stay on the island of Skye - incredible place!

  • Alisons place is in a lovely secluded spot away from most of the other tourists. Double bed very comfy and very much appreciated the black out blinds. Would advise for a longer stay, as although a beautiful area to explore and relax in, it is quite far from the main A road in skye and thus journeys to top attractions a little longer. But lovely!!!

Ord is a fantastic little hamlet on Skye. The views towards the Cuillins are superb! The shoreline is just a few meters away, perfect for enjoying the views!
  • McKinnon was an absolutely beautiful stay! We arrived at the dead of night and was so surprised at the beautiful views surrounding. The house itself was spotless and had everything you needed for a stress free stay, even down to the monocular for catching the sea eagles! The house was warm and so comfortable and the book collection was awesome.

  • Peaceful and beautiful location, stylish comfortable cottage. Well equipped.

    Alison2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to stay. The cottage is quaint everything is in order and de decor is nicely done. It rained a lot during our stay so we were inside the cottage more than anticipated and we were comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is very well equipped. If you buy your coffee have it grind coarse since there are 2 French press. You are right on the water (there is a cottage in front but it is not in your sight.) The cottage is quite far from the main road witch is a plus for quietness, i mean the sheep graze in the yard what more could you want! It was great. But if you want to go north of the island you are a bit far... All in all we thoroughly enjoyed are stay.

  • The location is ideal, quiet and beautiful, almost over a lake. We were also very satisfied with the house. It had everything we could need to cook, books and maps on the area, a washing machine, two bathrooms. We were delighted. Everything was clean and in order. The hosts have also been available and very nice. Very satisfying experience.

  • Everything was just perfect - this tiny cabin had all we needed and more. It is stylish and romantic, has all the facilities like tea, coffee and more kind accents like instant porridge and delish cookies. The cabin is clean and modern, being cosy at the same time, with an idyllic view to the lake. Rebecca is a warm and welcoming host, who tells you all you need to know and leaves you all the privacy and space you need. Thank you so much!

  • Waking up and looking out from bed on to those beautiful views is idyllic. The cabins are spotless, with a beautifully maintained shower room. We were furnished with towels and tea and coffee facilities which were lovely surprises. We were also surprised at the beautiful stove-style electric space heater, which we were very greatful for when we returned from the torrential rain ( I hope this dispels any fears people may have of being cold). The bed and sheets were high quality and very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

'Shindig' is a traditional stone croft house found at the most Southerly part of Skye, at Point of Sleat. A step up from camping, it's a basic bothy-style experience, although with hot running water and gas oven. No electricity, a leisure battery provides some light, candles provide the rest! There's a pristine white sand beach 2 minutes walk from the house. Stunning seascape views to Rum /Eigg. Use of kayak and fishing gear. This is more "hands-on" than your normal holiday cottage. Please note
Located remotely, off grid, 2 miles from the village of Aird, near Armadale in Sleat, Skye and accessible only on foot, the cottage is a very basic insulated (but not yet clad) open plan space, with a mezzanine level upstairs and it sleeps 5-6. A wood burning stove provides warmth (logs included) and gas fuelled appliances include fridge ( small caravan size), oven with hob and running hot and cold water in the kitchen. **NOTE- water NOT drinkable in kitchen. We filter water (one micron filter) at a tap beside the shower and have never had any problems with this, however, we would advise guests to boil this filtered water for one minute before drinking. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own bottled water** There is a pull-down double bed in the kitchen area (this is heavy and may require 2 people to lower and raise bed) with an additional double and single bed and space for 2 air mattresses upstairs. Clean but basic accommodation which is reflected in the price. We rely on guests leaving the house clean and tidy as we don't live on site and have no cleaner. *We ask guests to bring their own bedding (pillowcases/sheets)/sleeping bags*. Pillows/mattresses/blankets and hot water bottles ARE provided. We've loads of board games for rainy days too. This is NOT a luxurious space and a certain level of practical knowledge to deal with the bottled gas etc is required. We have a compost loo adjacent to the house (complete with She-wee) and a gas fuelled outdoor shower a short walk away. Relative luxury! It can be temperamental in high winds so we provide an outdoor solar bag shower too. The walk to the house requires boots or other appropriate footwear and depending on fitness takes between 30-40 minutes. The last part to the house can be quite boggy and wet. Cars can be left at the small carpark at the end of the road in Aird so all of your food/luggage will need to be carried by backpack. There are no near shops or restaurants at Point of Sleat so we advise planning ahead for food. If you need to restock during your stay you'll need to walk back to the carpark (taking between 40-50 minutes) and drive to either the small community shop in Armadale or the larger Co- op in Broadford (approx 30 mins drive). If all of this doesn't put you off, then you'll love the peace and beauty of the area!
The house sits within a working croft which has cattle, sheep and hens roaming freely. We want to minimise disruption to our neighbours from vehicles driving on the track, so we ask guests to walk to the house. The house is a 2 mile walk from the end of the tarmac road at Aird. Guests would need to be prepared to leave their car at the small carpark next to Aird Old Church Gallery and carry supplies for their stay in all weathers (all part of the fun we think!) There are many attractions once at Point. Camas Daraich beach is simply stunning and only a short stroll from the house. It is safe for young children, with fantastic rock pools and abundant sealife. Its a great place for a swim and a barbecue on a sunny day. Beyond the beach, along the hilltops winds a path to the lighthouse which has dramatic views over the sea to the islands of Rum, Eigg, Muck, and the mainland from Arisaig to Ardnamurchan Point. A good place to spot dolphins or basking sharks if you are lucky. The area is ringed by low hills, home to red deer and heather and stunning views of the Cuillin hills. There are many coves and inlets around the headland which are great fun to explore and we've often spotted otters. We have really enjoyed fishing for mackerel in season from either the sit on kayak or from the shore. Our kayak is available for guests at your own risk- we do provide buoyancy aids for children and 2 adults. These are not lifejackets. We are fortunate to be near Armadale and the Gaelic College Sabhal Mor Ostaig, which hosts performances throughout the year via SEALL -a community led performing arts promoter. World class musicians and artists playing in often quite small and intimate venues throughout Sleat. Alternatively, you may wish to simply bring a good book and totally relax in this amazingly peaceful place.
  • Very remote and amazing. We loved it here. A total body and mind reset from technology and life in general. Tons of activities to keep busy...hike to point, hike to lighthouse, board games, etc. The cottage is perfect and obviously well loved by the owners. All kitchen needs were supplied, beds comfortable and a very homey place to enjoy each other’s company. The toilet is great, we didn’t use the outdoor shower, but wow it looks awesome. Met the wonderful neighbors training their sheep dogs. Such a beautiful and calming atmosphere. We felt right at home there and loved every minute.

  • Brilliant little cottage in a beautiful place. Outhouse & outside shower just add to the adventure. Short walk to beach. Well-fitted kitchen, & food cupboard, very atmospheric after dark with candles, teeny lights, & torches & woodstove firelight. Quite a trek to & from parking carrying all our stuff, but well worth it. Had a blast.

  • Atypical house to cut the world. The calm has done us a lot of good. The path to access is not easy for non-athletes but the view is worth it (sandy beach and the "harbor" are beautiful places) Anne is very reactive and did not hesitate to contact us before our stay to give us advice on our itinerary. Thank you Anne!

  • An idyllic setting in south Skye! Anne is an incredible host and her home reflects this. Amazing attention to detail and caring touches all the way

    Sam2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • It's a bit of a walk to the cottage but definitely worth it for the spectacular setting. The cottage has everything you need, best of all a roaring fire!

    Ruth2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage es the perfect place for escaping everyday routines, a busy work life or whatever else bothers you. Getting out there without any wifi and very limited telephone connections and having the beach right in front of the door is wonderful. Describing the cottage in 3 little words: Simple but perfect!

    Nadine2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for an adventure or to switch of from a busy life. Cosy hideaway. Exactly as described. Pack for all kinds of weather from stormy to sunny. Great walks on your door step. Walk from car park took about 50 mins. We did two trips on arrival day to fetch belongings then food etc. but would recommend doing in in one and packing light.

  • Our host has managed to construct an impressive little self-contained hillside house with every amenity a visitor could need. We came in the off-year, before the foliage and midges--when the seasonal rain slams down hard and the wind howls outside your window. This man's guest home was a charming bastion of newness and comfort amid the atmospheric violence. Our every need was met before we anticipated needing it. We only hope we left the property almost as clean as our host clearly maintains it; anything less would be an indecency to his investment. We hope to one day see this mesmerizing island again, with its fearsome nights, its bounding wildlife, its moss, its lichen, its castles and its charming, endearing people who sing when they speak. Until that time, our hearts will ache.

  • Skye is stunning, so you‘ll explore amazing places - great choice! If you want to be perfectly accommodated whilst doing so, you can‘t go wrong to come to this place! My wife and I spent six nights here, and it was just great. The place is calm, clean and cozy! The views are beyond what you see in the pictures, as you can literally watch the sun rise above the ridge FROM YOUR BED! We are totally in love with the setting, and wished we could have stayed longer - next time we will! Stephen was very friendly and we felt welcome at once! He shared so much useful information with us, that we could make the most out of our time on skye! We will surely come back to Skye and would love for Stephen to host us again!

  • This was the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in. I don't say that lightly. I am a fussy customer but it truly is a beautiful and thoughtful retreat. Steve was a very generous host and the pre-arrival communication was excellent. I arrived after a snowstorm to a warm, cosy home with an unexpected welcome basket, a wood-burning fire and the most wonderful views from the picture window. I enjoyed cooking in the well equipped and pristine kitchen. I spent plenty of time on the comfy sofa gazing at the snow-capped mountains across the water. I walked down to the beach and the castle, then returned to build a fire and make a cuppa. I didn't turn on the TV once - that view and star-gazing took up all my attention! An Nead really is a wonderful place to relax in and it is very well located on Skye. Steve went over and above what I'd expect of a host. I am grateful to have discovered this amazing spot and I can't wait to return.

Wake to the morning call of Invercaimbe's resident Curlews and fall asleep after witnessing one of Arisaig's spectacular sunsets. Perched directly above the beach, Invercaimbe Croft House is a tastefully decorated, traditional croft house perfectly suited to both families and couples alike.
Invercaimbe Croft House comfortably sleeps five (one twin and two double bedrooms) and enjoys a cosy living area with coal fire, modern shower room and a bright kitchen/dining room with fabulous uninterrupted views of the beach below and islands on the horizon. If you are travelling with a child or children under the age of twelve, please don't add them onto the reservation as they will be charged the "extra person £10 supplement" as there doesn't seem to be an age option for us to choose. If you could just let us know via message, that would be great. The Croft House makes for the ideal base to explore the area. Bring your boat or kayak along and discover the beautiful bays and beaches or enjoy a ferry trip around the islands of Eigg, Rum, Canna, Muck and Skye. Watch and listen to the Jacobite Steam Train aka the Hogwarts Express as it chugs its way along Creag Mhor or simply relax with family and friends on the beach or, on days when the weather is not so favourable, in front of the fire with a good book. Invercaimbe Croft House is privately situated and fenced off and is part of the Invercaimbe Croft, a working croft and small family campsite run by our sister, Joyce. Invercaimbe prides itself on being a tranquil space and it would be appreciated if guests would respect both the wading birds, campers and livestock by not disrupting the peaceful nature or inhabitants of Invercaimbe.
  • This is a real gem of a place to stay. The beach is at the doorstep with stunning scenery and walks. The communication with Pamela was very easy, and helpful. We stayed during New Year and the extra touches such as a welcoming Christmas card and stunning hamper of goodies were delightful. A highly recommended stay.

  • I just wish we could have stayed longer. There’s something very therapeutic about staying on a working croft and looking out your kitchen window at the changing tide. When the tide recedes the beach is a few steps away ready for you to explore. Just a delight!

  • This is a lovely cottage right next to the sea. It has everything you need, it’s stylishly decorated and includes an open fire which at this time of year was very much appreciated! Pamela and Paula were lovely hosts who kindly left a welcome basket of bread, wine and cheese! Very thoughtful! This is a wonderful part of the world which we will never tire of visiting and we will definitely use this house again.

  • A fantastic setting, a comfortable cottage with lots of thoughtful touches and good host communication

    David2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two weeks in the accommodation. It was just wonderful. The house is so great right on the beach and the space at the kitchen window is just a dream. It does not matter if the weather is dry and sunny, or the rain is whipping. You are protected behind the window and it feels almost like being outside. Pamela and her niece Paula were very friendly and helpful and responded promptly when we needed something. With the dog we could make beautiful beach walks directly from the house. The rooms are very nicely decorated and in the evening we heated the fireplace. It is really cozy there and the location is just spectacular. Pamela welcomed us with a basket of bread, wine and snacks and everywhere in the rooms there were fresh flowers in vases.

  • Had a lovely few days here, cosy Croft house, We arrived to fresh local bread, biscuits and fresh flowers in most of the rooms, lovely personal touches, we enjoyed every night cosied up with the log fire burning, and waking up to beautiful views, very peaceful and relaxed place to be, make sure you take your car and you can get around easily we managed to do some of the smaller island tours, can’t wait to return,

A delight of a cottage, refurbished to a high standard at the southern end of Skye. Close to the Ferry terminal at Armadale.
Rhu House has been recently converted to a stunning 2 bed cottage. Cosy and fully equipped this is an ideal location for a couples romantic getaway or family vacation. Less than a mile from the ferry terminal in Armadale. There is a traditional public house and restaurant 200 meters down the road serving food and ales. The master bedroom upstairs, with superking size bed is and ensuite bathroom has been done to a high standard. The ensuite has a separate bath and shower. The tiled floor is eye catching. There is a separate room upstairs to play games, relax in front of the TV, read or put the children so you can relax in the living area downstairs. The kitchen, dining, living area is fully equipped and executed beautifully. The second bedroom, though not vast is ideal for 2 children. Outside there is a seating are on the deck from where you can look south to the mainland and take in a quiet and delightful area of Skye whilst enjoying views south over the mainland. Come, stay, enjoy.
  • Despite what the pictures in the listing may seem to be omitting ( an amazing view) we loved the handy access to the shore and pub. Rhu house has been very well appointed and still feels fresh and new. I always take my own pillows - as I like feathers - but the towels were fluffy the entire house sparkling and everything is as you would hope. If you are cooking make sure you find the ‘hidden drawers’ - we found the cutlery but not the plentiful supply of utensils underneath! Our note to hosts was responded too incredibly fast - deserved superhost title!

  • Outstanding place

    Abdulla2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • This house is probably the best interior design of a house I have stayed in. It is stunning and everything is intuitive and easy to use. It was so easy to get access and use - exactly what you want as a guest. The place is clean and well worth a visit.

  • This is the best stay on my trip to Scotland. The decoration is very beautiful and the view is very good. The most memorable thing is to look at the stars in bed!

Raasay Cottage is a stunning barn conversion located on the West Coast of Scotland within easy reach of Skye and the Small Isles, and the famous Camusdarach beach. It has everything you would need to make your holiday luxurious and hassle free. The cottage sleeps 4 in total with 2 bedrooms: one double and one twin room, and one family shower room. There is a private garden with a heritage swing perfect for relaxing.
This is 19th century barn conversion, cozy cottage with modern tasteful decoration.
A very peaceful area very close to the beach.
  • Rasaay Cottage is a lovely. It's beautifully done in a truly exceptional location!

    Cathy2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We (family with two boys, 13 and 16) really enjoyed our one-week stay at Raasay Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and beautiful. Pre-Communication with Zoe was very well, our questions were answered extraodinarily quickly. Raasay Cottage is a very good starting point to make excursions to Skye (with the ferry from Mallaig), Ben Nevis and Loch Ness or to make walks in the Morar and Moidart hills and seasides. Returning to the cottage was each day like coming home.

  • Stylish cottage in an absolutely amazing location - Camasdarach Beach is beautiful and the local towns of Mallaig and Arisaig provide all the amenities you could need.

    Richard2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location. The best beach only a few minutes walk away. Home stylish and everything we required

    Lorna2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Zoe was incredibly responsive and helpful. There was a loaf of fresh bread on arrival and the cottage was absolutely charming. Of course, the location near the beach was lovely, too! We highly recommend the e-bikes in Mallaig for touring around. The week went by much too fast.

    Mary2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a week in this wonderful cottage. Lovely, spacious and comfortable space with homey touches. A fresh locally baked loaf of bread was provided on arrival! The cottage is across the road from the fantastic beach and loads of nearby places to explore. Excellent hosts, great communicators. Easy check in and out. We loved our stay and hope to return!

    Carmen2019-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Photos on the site give a good idea of the rental. Loved the location - so quiet and peaceful.

    Vanina2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, clean accommodation in traditional converted farm buildings. It's pretty, sheltered position is only a few minutes walk from Camusdarach Beach. Ideal for a couple or a couple with one or two small kids. Heating is by storage heaters and/or by a wood burning stove. Wi-fi works great. Property is in a little dip and the walls are seriously thick so as the owners warn don't expect a mobile signal unless you are outside. There is a washing machine (we didn't use), but not a Dishwasher. Hot water is via an electric immersion heater. There is a little private area at the back of the property which is a nice sun trap and it's pleasantly furnished for dining outside or enjoying an evening cocktail. Very hard to find fault on location or on comfort. Well worth considering if you are looking to spend some time visiting the stunning beaches around Arisaig.

Private self contained one bedroom apartment, with private sitting room and spectacular picture window views over the Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides. Shared outer entrance and hall/staircase.
  • This place is simply the best. The views are spectacular and the food fresh and delicious. Michael is just the kindest host. The sauna was a ridiculous icing on the most perfect cake and that is before mentioning the cinema screen and unlimited supply of films. Town is a short 10 minute walk which is easy at night so you get all the benefits of the town whilst having tranquillity from the apartment. We intended to walk more but be warned you may get sucked into just watching boats pass and staring out at the Isle of Skye. The best airbnb we have stayed in by a mile.

    Rob2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best AirBnb we have stayed in! We travelled to Mallaig by train after watching a programme about the West Highland Line, and the train journey was meant to be the main focus - until we got to Mike's house! We absolutely loved the apartment. You can just sit for ages looking across to Skye watching the clouds and the boats moving past. There was plenty of tea and coffee so we helped ourselves and just relaxed. My husband loved the sauna and I loved the big movie projector screen! Breakfast was brought up to us and was outstanding - the fluffiest toast I've ever had. The whole experience made our trip even more enjoyable! You won't be disappointed, it's a smashing place to stay.

  • Could not have been a more wonderful stay.

    Adrian2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great stay ! Michael is really a great person, and welcomed us so warmly. The house and the view are perfect, and its impossible to get bored since you have at your disposition music, films to watch on a white board, board games and a sauna. The breakfeast was really tasty and good. Michael even gaved us before leaving some scottish cheese and biscuit. I really recommend with all my heart, wish we could stay a bit longer there. Thank you again Michael.

    Safoura2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Michaels home The location and hospitality Michael offers is truly outstanding Michaels freshly prepared breakfast was absolutely delicious and we were able to have exactly what we wanted. We chose porridge with a lovely variety of fresh fruit followed by bacon eggs beans sausage and mushrooms Then fresh toast with home-made marmalade and jams ,tea coffee and oranges juice Michael is extremely thoughtful and helpful and nothing seems to be too much trouble He very generously picked us up from the station and kindly dropped us back at the station on the day we left The accommodation is extremely comfortable and everywhere is spotlessly clean The views are amazing We thoroughly enjoyed using the sauna and watching TV on the big screen We can highly recommend staying at Michaels Airbnb It is certainly by far the best Airbnb at which we have stayed

    Susan2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Michael's was INCREDIBLE. Even though we arrived late at night, Michael met us in person to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed - even provided fresh cold water which was much appreciated. He also took our order for breakfast late at night even though we had to wake up early to catch the ferry. Not only did he make us an incredible meal which we had in front of a panoramic window in our suite, but also offered us a lift to the port which was really the reason we were on time. I would absolutely recommend this place to a friend. You MUST book it!

    Ali2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Superb apartment on the first floor of the house, with a private lounge, sauna, overhead projector, not to mention the huge breakfast, the breathtaking view of Skye, and the unbeatable hospitality of Michael! An address to remember absolutely !!

    Thomas2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michael was very hospitable and welcomed us warmly when we reached. He also offered to prepare breakfast for us and said we could have anything we wanted (it was really nice of him!). The place looked much better in actual than in photos - with great views to the ocean and a lot of amenities that include a running exercise machine, dumbbells, even an in-room sauna :) Highly recommended!

Welcome! Our house (The Willows) is nestled in a prominent position in the centre of the village of Tarskavaig. The Willows is a modern croft house set inside a traditional operating croft. My wife and I live here with our two young children, dog and two cats. Tarskavaig offers a unique feel of traditional crofting life along with a very quiet and peaceful backdrop, so is the perfect place to come for a relaxing 'get away from it all' holiday.
At the Willows we offer 3 unique rooms. Two of the rooms are on the top floor of the building (Room 1 and Room 2) and the other (Room 3) is on the ground floor. The main room (Room 1) (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/17933589) is a spacious modern room with a super-king size bed, a single bed and a compact en-suite shower room attached. This is a lovely bright room with a dormer window and 2 velux windows and an outstanding view out to sea towards the Island of Rum. The second room, (Room 2) (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/17936252) is also spacious and modern and has both a single and double bed. This room has a large, separate, private bath / shower room accessed a couple of meters across the upstairs landing. The view from this room is from a large window on the gable end which beautifully catches the morning sunlight. The third room (ROOM 3 - this listing) (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/31039994) is on the ground floor. This room has a double bed and adequate seating for 2 people and has an excellent view over the front garden and out towards the sea. This room has a separate shower room / WC, directly opposite the room, shared with the guest house owner. All rooms have large televisions with Satellite connection, tea and coffee facilities, and the house offers free fast WiFi. On the upstairs landing is some guest seating around another window giving an amazing view out to sea and the Island of Rum. Check in time is generally 5pm-9pm, but if you need earlier or later we should be able to accommodate, just please request with us when booking.
Tarskavaig is a very small crofting community, the population of which is less than 60 people. The village is famous for it's outstanding views to the Cuillin mountain range and out to sea towards the islands of Rum, Eigg and Canna. The village is in active crofting use with sheep and cattle a common sight. There is easy access to the local beach (best visited at low tide) and a number of footpaths and walks in and around the village. In the nearby vicinity, and easy walking distance there are the communities of Tokavaig and Achnacloich. Both of these places offer excellent beaches and views.
  • A little hard to find, very nice hostess, breakfast was good, bed comfortable, everything was clean, gladly again!

    Caro2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place. Although it's a bit remote (located on the south side of the island), we had beautiful views. Fiona was a great host - great chats and breakfast.

    Ahila2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fiona's B&B is absolutely lovely and so was she! We received a warm welcome, a comfy bed and a hot shower. The breakfast she provides the next morning is great as well and we had a nice little send off in the morning. The kitties are so friendly and charming too!

    Amanda2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Angus and Fiona are great hosts, I recommend them 100%! Thanks again to them for this stay!

  • Very good .... Nothing to add.

    Robert2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We would definitely recommend Angus and Fiona's place in Tarskavaig. The location was great, a short drive from the Armadale ferry terminal. We arrived to a brilliant sunset and a very warm and hospitable welcome by Fiona. Parking on-site was perfect. Our room was cozy and comfortable and Fiona has a great table set for breakfast to see you off on your daily travels.

  • Sue’s place was everything we were hoping for and more. It was such a cozy house with the modern touches to make for a comfortable stay - such as a smart TV, great WiFi, fully equipped kitchen and jacuzzi bath. It is perfectly located just a few steps from the local pub while still feeling totally secluded - just the gentle sound of the stream. Thanks for a wonderful stay! It was worth the 14 hour journey from London.

The instructions for our check in were easy to follow and made the whole experience extremely painless. The cottage has everything you need and is in a great location.

    Nick2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Sue's lovely little cottage. The location was perfect for exploring Skye and it was so nice to come back to the cottage and a warm fire in the evening. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Skye.

  • The Oak Tree Cottage is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Isle of Skye. The cottage and the area have so much character and Sue provides everything you could need for a wonderful stay. If you’re looking for a cozy cottage where you can curl up by a fire and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Skye, then this is the place. There is also a fantastic pub / restaurant 2 doors down that we went back to again and again during our visit. Bonus: we saw otters and hedgehogs!

Again, plenty of parking at the start of this walk and incredible views from the top! Duncan House in Kilmarie, a few miles before you reach Elgol, is a silver/swordmaking studio...not to be missed! Torrin has a charming cafe with fabulous views of Blaven and there is also a local farm shop and a lovely cafe with fabulous views of Blaven mountain .
  • Lovely cottage, surprising spacious with everything you need. The views from the fantastic kitchen/family room are spectacular. The cottage has charm throughout, and we had a unique welcome from a wild stag grazing in the back garden. Deborah our host was spot on with everything. There is a bit of a drive Broadford to the cottage, but easily managed by being organised with supplies and a small price to pay for the views which at sunset on a clear night are breathtaking from inside the family room and the garden. I would recommend brining your camera.

    Stuart2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is cozy and inviting, with spectacular views that you’ll love to wake up to each morning. It is the perfect location if you’re looking for something quiet and wish to experience the true Highlands, complete with the scenic views, weather, and wildlife, away from the tourist attractions but accessible to all of the landmarks. And the hostess is very responsive and ready with tips and advice to make sure your stay is perfect. We definitely hope to return.

    Elise2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonder stay with Debbie. Has some initial trouble getting in (quickly sorted with all from a neighbor). The views, feel and comfort of the cottage cannot be overstated. It was fantastic! Very family friendly as well, with cot, high chair, and nice tub for the kids. It's a wonderful homey feel with wood stove, books, and a great kitchen. We absolutely loved it. The seclusion and drive was a plus in our books. A+++

    Naomi2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is truly an incredible place to stay! The most fantastic views, cosy fire and comfortable beds. After a long day of sightseeing this beautiful part of the world, there was nothing better than coming back and snuggling up by the fire with a book and a glass of something! The views of the sea are just outstanding, it's a place you go to and instantly relax. Deborah was so helpful and kind during our stay. We can't recommend her beautiful place enough. We will definitely be back! Thanks again.

    Lucie2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • There really aren’t words to fully describe how incredible this place is. The location in Elgol is a secluded treasure next to mountain and sea. The house was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed and more for our group of six friends. We shared so many special moments in the house and in the outdoor areas surrounding. Our first morning we awoke to the most amazing sunrise and a double rainbow right in front of the house!! We didn’t want to leave and look forward to staying here again next time we visit.

Beautiful Camard lodge stands in its own private 87.5 acres of pastureland and woodland, with walks down to the beachs, and with breathtaking views over the water to the mountains of remote Knoydart, and beyond. Relax, enjoy, and unwind, in one of the U.K,s most amazing locations.
One of the most fabulous areas on the Sleat peninsular, standing alone in 85 acres of pastureland, with walks to beaches and forest tracks close by. Two bedrooms, consisting of a twin and double, and luxury fitted kitchen with soft close cupboards and all amenities to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Everything, from the beautiful location, to the wild wilderness views, walks and boat trips. It offers adventure, or a place to totally unwind. For us, it just ticks all the boxes.
  • Just had a fantastic stay at Camard Lodge. We’ve been going to Skye yearly for many years and the lodge was easily the most beautiful place we’ve stayed. With breath taking views, a stove and great Forrest walk across the road we literally couldn’t have asked for anymore. Thank you, Anita. See you again next year. :)

    Susan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • 2 of us spent a week here in Skye, along with our dog. Anita was fantastic, clean place with amazing views! Even got to enjoy a local murder mystery evening.

  • Anita is a brilliant host she gave us lots of information before we arrived and popped up to cabin and made sure we were okay when we arrived ! Her cabin is amazing beautiful scenery and super cosy and the log fire is a bonus makes it even cosier .. nice for a romantic weekend sitting in or for going out exploring ... defo recommend

    Kimberley2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely place to stay on Skye. The photos are accurate: the lodge is wonderfully secluded, with lovely views out of every window. There are some splendid walks from the lodge itself, and there's a hotel pub that serves decent, well-priced food, just a short walk away. Anita has kept the lodge in perfect condition, and it's really comfortable and well-equipped -- and very cosy with a log fire lit and stormy weather outside! The friend I was with commented that it's impossible to think of any way that it could be improved, and I'd totally agree. Many thanks to Anita -- hoping to come back to Skye before too long!

    Stuart2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is super cool. The location is stunning and Anita is very responsive. No wifi here, so it’s a great place to get off the grid and explore Skye. Perfect size for a few people and well equipped with kitchen necessities and big towels. Check in and check out were seamless. We would definitely stay again!

  • Beautiful place, in a stunning location. The quad bike ride from Simon was a highlight for our kids!! Thank you Simon and Anita

    Sam2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous lodge in a beautiful place. Communication with Anita was brilliant - she was very helpful and accommodated our late arrival/early departure. She even left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift! The lodge was perfect for two humans and one dog to chill out in. We enjoyed walks in the surrounding countryside and spent hours in front of the fire.

Communication with Allana was quick and efficient and check in and out was easy and hassle free. She also provided excellent instructions with regards to location. We'd 100% recommend a stay here.

    James & Hollie2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed in the pod for one night but it was everything we needed! It was cosy, clean and had an amazing view. Also in a great location to see the sights on the west coast. Would definitely recommend!

    Kirsty2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fun to sleep in cosy pod for the night and nice to wake to a Loch view

    Cheryl2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean and spacious cabin with great views!

    Nick2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, nice and remote for a proper get away. There is a lovely walk to Tarbot and back along the lake, directly from the pod and it's very close to the beaches of Morar. Allana was a great host. The pod was clean, warm with one heater (we stayed over New Year) and good shower, comfy bed, generally nice and cosy. Highly recommend.

The bed and breakfast room is spacious and modern with a superking size bed and private decking with your own pizza oven. Wonderful sea views. Your bathroom has a double width bath for two and a walk in rainforest shower. Set in a peaceful location the house is surrounded by croft land and spectacular cliff top walks. Situated very close to Spar cave and 5 minutes drive to Elgol. Continental breakfast is included in your room., as well as a microwave and TV including Netflix.
You will have your own private entrance accessed by a pathway outside the house and complete privacy in the guest area which is within the main house. All Breakfast ingredients are provided along with a fridge and microwave for you to help yourself to at your own convenience. It means you can have an early start or a lie in as you wish! A gas fired pizza oven is provided for guests on your private decking. Two pizzas one vegetarian and one meat are provided during your stay.
  • Off the beaten path of Skye, you’ll enjoy the view and seclusion of this place. The gas fired pizza oven was a fun activity for dinner at the accommodation itself. If you’re looking for something that gets you away from all the tourists this is the place for you!

  • We had a lovely stay here. Beautiful location and very hospitable hosts. Plenty of food provided for the pizzas and also breakfast. The location is quite remote, so allow plenty of time to get to and from the airbnb. It's definitely worth it for the peace and quite and beautiful views once you are there.

    Claire2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay in the most beautiful, peaceful place! We really appreciated James's hospitality and would absolutely stay here again. We especially enjoyed trying our hand at wood fired pizza-making!

    Kaitlyn2019-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at James airbnb. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom has a shower and even a bathtub, where you can enjoy a bath after a strenuous hike. Don’t underestimate the drive to the airbnb - it’s quite long but worth it. We would definitely recommend this airbnb!

  • Reaching the place and parking is super-easy (right in front of the house). VERY handy for the ferry to Skye (book in advance). Allie is super friendly and easy-going, he makes you feel comfortable. We didn't expected a host to be so friendly and kind. The house is simple, but extra-clean and there's all you need.

  • Jennie's home is such a peaceful place and we really felt at home with everything provided for cooking meals, drying wet kit and relaxing after long days out exploring Skye. A truly stunning location, the views from the kitchen were absolutely breathtaking and we hope to come back and visit again.

    Louise2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cottage in stunning surroundings. The house is the perfect space for a couple for a few nights. It is well equipped and felt really warm and cosy. The bed was really comfy and outside area is lovely to sit and watch the world go by. The property is well located for exploring the area, although the road up to it is a little daunting at first. Jennie's directions were great and she clearly takes a lot of care as a host. Would thoroughly recommend and look forward to returning in the future.

  • Incredibly beautiful space with an amazing view from the patio. Excellent value for money, perfect for exploring the isle as well as the areas surrounding it. Wish we could have spent more time here.

  • We absolutely loved staying here. The place is beautiful, so comfortable and clean with a lovely comfy bed, and the view from the bedroom window is just breathtaking. Jennie was really friendly and gave us good directions to find our way in the dark, and as we were arriving late she kindly left some milk and breakfast treats in the fridge for us. Would 100% recommend.

    Rodie2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jennie's home is a brilliant base to explore Skye from. The house is perfect with everything you would need with lots of little thoughtful touches from Jennie. Jennie was really quick with replying to messages and even let us know when the house was ready earlier than our check in time. The views are amazing and the house was so nice and warm when we arrived. There was a nice local bar which served nice food close by too. Highly recommend.

    Lucy2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely lovely place to stay. We didn't expect such stunning views of the water, and Jennie was very clear and prompt about sending us directions about how to get in. She even stopped by shortly after we arrived to welcome us and give us a recommendation for a close place to eat. We would absolutely recommend Jennie's place.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the home. The view is incredible! Lyn-Anne provided extra touches like equipment and toys for our two small children. She was extremely responsive to a couple of questions we had about the property. The home is tastefully decorated, inviting, and very clean. We cannot recommend it enough!

    Leslie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location and a gorgeous little house, perfect for our group of 4. Kitchen had all the amenities we needed and some we didn't, and the house was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.

    Jessica2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really outstanding location, absolutely mesmerised by the view, no matter what room I was in. Very cosy, clean and warm cottage. The fireplace really makes a huge difference and adds to its magic. You have all you need in the cottage, from toiletries to all kitchen items, in case you decide to stay in. Highly recommend for sure

  • We had a lovely time at the Wee Croft House. The location and views are spectacular, and although the house is quite small, it is very comfortable and has everything you need. Lyn-Anne is a very sweet host.

  • Wonderful stay. Beautiful location and lovely host. Plenty of room for parking and very cosy and warm inside. I’m 6 foot 2 and had no issue with head room which was an added bonus with a Croft like this. Would recommend even in winter, the dark and cold makes the Croft feel even more splendid.

    Thomas2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I used Lyn-Anne’s listing as our stay for our elopement in Skye and it was perfect. Beautiful view from the home with the ocean and mountains to see, and with sheep out on the fields. It was a nice, warm cozy place that was very clean and fun to stay at. I’d highly recommend staying here to anyone. Thanks!!

The cottage is at the Aird end of the village of Ardvasar, approx 1 mile from ferry. It’s a very private setting and has an amazing view all the way up the Sound of Sleat as far as Kintail. Seaview Cottage was the original family home for the Croft. It was completely renovated and everything renewed. It is very cosy and warm for the coldest weather. It has a wood burning stove and electric central heating. Fibre broadband. Comfortable furniture and a powerful shower with loads hot water.
    Great selection of local eateries.
  • Spending a glorious hour watching the sunrise over the mountains on the mainland whilst drinking tea sitting outside the cottage was a remarkable treat. Being met by locally distilled gin as a “welcome drink” was a lovely touch. Great stay, Thankyou.

You can relax in large, beautiful bedrooms with your own private bathroom. Breakfast includes home baking with fresh bread made daily. Our new purpose built B&B comes with en-suite bathrooms, incredible views out across the sea to Knoydart and beyond, and friendly hospitality. Rooms are spacious with satellite TV, tea & coffee, and a large selection of books and magazines. Free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is served in our kitchen diner, with a 4 metre panoramic window overlooking the incredible view.
Armadale is situated in the Sleat peninsula and is known as "the garden of Skye" because of it's lush forests. It offers visitors a pleasant base to explore Skye, and we are 2 minutes by car to the Armadale - Mallaig ferry.
  • Lovely spacious room, sparkling clean, very comfortable bed for my feeble back and hot shower - wonderful! When the power went down (storms in Scotland) we were treated to a candlelit breakfast including porridge cooked on a camp stove which only enhanced the understanding that this is an island, vulnerable to the weather. Jasmine was an attentive host, sharing her insights into life on Skye, which we loved. If you can, catch the Breakish folk night on the first Monday of the month and remember to book - a wonderful evening of skill and interest and enjoyment!

  • A great place to stay in the Isle of Skye! The place is just as described and is super clean and comfortable. The view of the water outside the large window is also beautiful. The breakfast was homemade and charming and delicious and the breakfast nook opens up onto a deck overlooking the water. Also the location is super convenient if you want to take the ferry-- less than 5 min drive. Highly recommended!

  • I could not recommend Shonnie’s place enough. Sandava is an adorable little tiny house with most most idyllic view which made it hard to get out of bed! The place was also sparking clean with all the facilities needed for a short stay. Shonnie also recommended a nice little Hotel down the road which was perfect for a quiet drink. Will definitely stay again if we get the opportunity to come back to the Isle of Skye.

  • A little gem of a place with unbeatable views and access to the landscape and beach. Some nice little touches in the space and it was very cosy even on the very cold and stormy nights. There are also great little spots within a 20 minute drive, bar am praban was a particular favourite, great pub with locally sourced food within a 5 min drive from Sandava. Absolutely perfect! We stayed in march and the weather was very wet and we loved every second, very tempted to stay here again in the summer months to make the most of the deck!

  • It was a v special stay. Kathleen's pods are right on the coast, within easy reach of the showers and toilets but feel super private. We enjoyed beers on the deck (wrapped up in blankets, it was October :)) and saw some beautiful rainbows. We walked easily into Arisaig but for more flexibility useful to have a car. Really recommend Kathleen! She was lovely and supportive :)

  • Great costal location on a very peaceful campsite. The pod was very clean and tidy, well appointed for a comfy place to unwind. And a nice array of snacks and bits for a continental breakfast too. The view is truly wonderful so make sure you arrive to see the sun go down. The facilities/ W/C block on site are suitable for a few nights stay but remember this is a campsite not a hotel. £1 coin needed for a nice hot shower. I did find the pod got little chilly in the early hours, but I anticipated this and packed a camping blanket which played its part. Book it and have a wonderful time. I’ll be going again on my next trip that’s for sure

    Robert2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, beautiful pod at a beautiful location and a lovely host!

    Bob2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was very good. The cabin is nicely decorated, the bed is comfortable and the breakfast was great. As described, the toilets are about 1 minute away when it rains a real downside. During our stay it was very windy and cold as it would be nice if the heating would have warmed more. All in all, we would like to stay here again!

    Lena2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, spotted an otter within minutes of arriving! Clean and cosy wee pod, showers and loos a short walk away. Absolutely devoured the tasty fresh fruit bowl and other breakfast items. Highly recommend a stay here!
