Vacation rentals in Rioux-Martin

Exactly what we needed for our family of five. Beautiful spot on the edge of the village. Property exceeded our expectations. We particularly appreciated that all the basics we needed were there, so we only had to worry about our normal shopping. Great communication from Matthijs and very quick and helpful in his responses. We had a fantastic stay at Mary’s cottage! Mary is a wonderful host—warm, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area and shared thoughtful advice about our possible future move to France, which we really appreciated. The cottage is charming, clean, and very comfortable, with a beautiful and completely private garden that we had all to ourselves. Mary took the time to show us around on arrival and made sure we knew how everything worked. The wood-burning fire in the living room was already set up and ready to light, with a plentiful supply of dry wood and kindling provided. There was a terrific sense of having the home entirely to ourselves, while at the same time knowing that Mary was just around the corner should we need anything. Highly recommended!

The loveliest airbnb we’ve ever stayed at!! The owners are so accommodating and their cats and dogs are so sweet. The views are incredible and the gite was perfect- had everything we needed even coffee and every kitchen utensil you could think of! There’s also a BBQ you can use if you’d like. The pool was perfect for the heatwave (and the aircon!) and so tranquil. There’s a book in the room that the hosts have put together with info about local attractions and recommendations that was very helpful! If you want a peaceful get away, it doesn’t get much better than this!

We had a wonderful week in St Quentin de Chalais. Pat and Yvonne gave us a very warm welcome to their beautiful farmhouse, along with a generous French welcome pack. The pool was fantastic, and the house and stunning location exceeded our expectations. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, including a charcoal bbq which we enjoyed using, and our privacy was entirely respected, while we also felt our hosts were at hand to help should we have needed anything. Within 20 minutes of the rural location of the farmhouse are quite a few beautiful villages, with plenty of bakeries for your croissant and coffee every morning..Aubeterre, Chalais, Bonnes, St. Aulaye, La Roche Chalais, Ribérac. We have returned home refreshed with wonderful memories of a special week. Thank you.

Our stay was great! Derk and his wife were very attentive and warm hosts, who welcome us and explained all about the region. The house corresponds to the pictures: it is beautiful, comfortable and cozy, has all the needed appliances for a pleasant stay in the countryside. Bathroom and shower are really good quality, living room extremely comfortable with a nice woodfire and the TV is actually larger than you can tell from the pictures. The garden is the highlight of the house, with a stunning view and a relaxing outside area for meals. The villages in the region are nice, with little shops, restaurants and sight seeing. Great recommendation for relaxing vacations! We would definitely like to stay in the Gite again in the future :) (and we love Ramsi, the golden retriever). Thank you Derk and family, we had a great time!

Notre séjour au gîte du Manoir Gabard nous laisse un souvenir plein de nostalgie ! Quelle belle expérience ! Les lieux sont plein de charme avec un intérieur confortable et simple où l'on se sent bien, des extérieurs splendides. Nous avons adoré profiter de la piscine et du jacuzzi préparé soigneusement par Jacques pour notre séjour. L'environnement campagnard est sublime, les chevaux, les poulettes et le chien du domaine sont toujours présents et contribuent au charme. Jacques est un hôte plein de qualités, formidable, attachant, qui aime recevoir et faire plaisir. Nous l'avons ressenti comme nulle part ailleurs dans nos voyages. Il prend grand soin de son domaine et de ses voyageurs. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute Jacques. Un grand merci !

Only stayed a few days as it was a base for a wedding. Lots of the other guests stayed on this complex so it worked well for us as a large group

I spent 3 wonderful nights at Julie and Jim's superb 1 bedroom gite in Rioux Martin. I can't say enough good things about my experience. The inside of the gite was immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. The outside space was equally nice and had all the necessary furniture to make outdoor dining pleasurable. This included both a front terrace for morning coffee and breakfast in the sun and a back terrace for evening cocktails and dinner. Lastly, Julie and Jim are so warm and gracious. They really seem to enjoy hosting guests from all over the world and they made my stay both comfortable and memorable. It was definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Thank you Julie and Jim!
