Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Rethymno

We stayed at Niki's seaside home for 2 weeks. It's the perfect place with privacy and very quiet, especially if you have to work remote. It is 2 min from the beach and walkable distance to restaurants. Niki was a great host, very welcoming and kind and helpful whenever you need something. She provided everything, from beach towels to all kinds if ammenaties. She kindly uncludes nice welcoming gifts and she goes above and beyond to help with your requests should you need something else. Really feels like home away from home.

Everything was great, the appartment is conform to the description. Nikos is really helpfull and gives all the details by text. Thank you for welcoming us !

We really enjoyed our stay at this vacation home. The location is quiet and offers a great view of the sea – perfect for unwinding. The house is tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. The landlords were friendly and helpful and made the stay pleasant. All in all, a nice house for a relaxing beach vacation.

Great accommodation, kind and helpful host who was always available to us. 10 min into central Rethymno on paved roads. The host welcomed us with food products and wine in the fridge. The property corresponds to the pictures. Pool and jacuzzi completely private without transparency (which does not apply to villa daphne just next to us). We are happy with everything. The only downside is that the jacuzzi was not completely clean, we had to clean it ourselves.

May 2025, 10 nights stay for three (2 adults, 1 toddler). Villa is really fantastic. Beautiful views of the sea and the bay. It offers a lot of space for more people (2 couples, 4-6 friends, 2 families) and for longer stays (storage space, cabinets and shelves, etc.). The equipment corresponds to the description and offers, even in the kitchen, everything you can need. Our highlight was the covered terrace. Our flight was moved up at short notice. A significantly earlier check-in was not a problem at all in our case. Stelios is a very friendly, helpful and dedicated host. We recommend him and his villa without restriction. Small limitation: the accommodation is a bit off the beaten track or the region is a bit scattered (mainly due to the geography of the area). Without your own car, it will be a little difficult in our opinion. However, there is a free parking space right by the house.

Very nice modern house (less than five years old?) overlooking the sea. Everything in very good working order, including powerful air conditioning in the bedrooms. Frequent cleaning of the pool area was a benefit, particularly when a storm had come in the night before. Very convenient to Rethymno as well as to several bakeries and restaurants towards the centre of the island.

This place is amazing! Cleopatra received us in person, with gifts for us. She introduced us to the accommodation with passion, took us to the charming little square of the village, explained the various activities and surrounding spots. the view from THE terraces is breathtaking (bird 's-eye view of the sea from the heights). the house is perfectly equipped, there is more bathroom than bedrooms. The geographical location is ideal for visiting the entire south center area of the island, which we seek calm and authenticity. for typical and cheap dishes, appointment at the Platia taverna on the small charming square of the village. Too bad we can only give 5 stars maximum! We'll come back, I promise.

Beautiful house in a Cretan village, close to the South coast, but far from the hustle and the north too touristy. Xavier and super responsive and it's very much appreciated! We have to emphasize it! Comfort house close to the best tavern. I recommend Xavier's place without hesitation

We enjoyed our stay at Georg's place. Especially the garden was so great for our two boys with lots of exercise and great play opportunities. We were spoiled with delicious olive oil and freshly plucked salad and were able to snack on pomegranate from the garden. Communication with Georg was always impeccable and quick. He and his family were always eager and so friendly. We were even allowed to watch the olive harvest and learned so much from Georg. The surroundings are great for taking different excursions. We can only recommend Georg's place.

The place was very nice and as described. Daniela was very warm and helpful. We only lacked a little more cooking equipment, as we occasionally wanted to cook and were then somewhat limited with a pan. Basically, we can highly recommend the apartment and would be happy to come back. Thank you very much.

We had the pleasure of staying in Rena's apartment from 5/26 to 6/2/25 and it was a fantastic experience! The apartment was as described but the view from the terrace also exceeded expectations! Unfortunately, we were unable to meet Rena in person, but she was always available for all our requests. She had warned us in advance that the village market would still be closed, so we could stock up on groceries before arriving, but she still made sure we had everything we needed in the house (thank you again!). In the house, there are all kinds of useful accessories for the kitchen, but also some thoughtful touches that I have never found on other occasions! The road to this small village is quite winding, but we felt so good there that we only moved once. There are 2/3 beaches (where we were often alone) reachable by a nice walk in the middle of nowhere breathing the scent of oregano! We hope to be back!

We arrived very late but were warmly welcomed by Maria's beautiful mother, with homemade cake and a warm welcome. Great apartment 2 min from the beach with a very nice beach bar and sun loungers. Private parking at the apartment, shops and everything you need in the neighborhood. Bus to Rethymnon just across the street. Maria was very helpful with recommendations and other things, and followed up during the stay. Couldn't have had a better host. We would love to come back and recommend the place to others.

Our family had a wonderful time here. The room was perfect and spacious for our family and everything we needed. The little play set outside entertained the kids a lot and is steps from the beach and excellent restaurants. We had a wonderful time!

Maryellen communicated really well before and during the stay. The house is a fantastic location but you need a car or taxi to get to local restaurants and into Chania. Maryellen even booked the taxi for us to Chania. The house is fully equipped with everything. The views are amazing over looking the sea. The outside space is great with magical pool. It’s on a hill so probably not suitable for people who find it difficult with stairs and because the pool is an infinity pool you would need to be careful of children in the pool. The house is private and in a quiet location. We will be going back, one of the best Airbnb we have been to.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time in Kalamaki. The place was perfect for us. We enjoyed the sea view every day with sunsets and the tranquility. The short distance to the beach, restaurants or supermarket was also brilliant. Communication was perfect from start to finish. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet but ingenious location, this is the place to be. We can definitely recommend the hosts.

Fabulous Manolis and his family were wonderful, they were incredibly kind when meeting us upon arrival and very helpful throughout our stay - always responding to queries quickly and offering useful advice about the local area. The apartment is in a great location being a short walk from the sea, shops and the old town. The view from the balcony is gorgeous, with the fort to the east and coastline to the west. The apartment was clean and well stocked offering all we needed for a week long holiday.

This place is a treasure. The views from the living room and kitchen are spectacular. The house has many clever features that are well designed. The area around Almyrida is fun to explore--go down to the beach or on a hike along the coast. Almyrida is a cute beach town, very welcoming. And we did several further from the town adventures. We had no idea that Crete has so much to offer--pottery in Margarites, beautiful beaches, intense hikes, exceptional museums, exploring Hania's historic streets. The property management team were wonderful to interact with. We felt so fortunate to find such a gem. Thank you!!! We sure hope we can return.

Beautiful stone villa perfect for our family! The weather was too cool to utilize the pool but we enjoyed a glass of wine outside in the picturesque settings. When booking, we made the assumption the smaller pool was the hot tub/jacuzzi however it is a smaller (not heated) pool for younger children. The jacuzzi is in the master bedroom. We were very sad to say goodbye to this home.

The house impresses with its large windows, which allow a beautiful view of the sea. In front of all windows, there are sliding mosquito nets, so that even at 40 degrees outside temperature a good indoor climate prevailed. A highlight was the starry sky, which we could enjoy on the mattress on the terrace (under a safe mosquito net). Federico provided us with fresh eggs, goat yogurt as well as honey and olive oil every morning. The interaction was extremely friendly and his tips were excellent. In particular, we will miss the tavern Agios Georgios, a bit individual, flower power and with excellent cuisine.

We LOVED this place!! The villa, the location, and the hosts Eleni and Georgios are all fantastic. The house is stunningly designed inside and out, for both functionality and luxury. The kitchen is supremely well-equipped, beds comfortable, bathrooms and living spaces airy and stylish. We appreciated the multiple terraces, beautiful swimming pool and sauna with a view! The location is perfect without a car: easily walkable to bars, restaurants and supermarkets in Plakias, but situated at the best, quietest, wildest end of the bay, with sandy beach, clear water, a couple of cool beach bars for sundowners and a beautiful walk on the headland. If you do have a car, there are amazing beaches nearby (Skinaria is gorgeous), and walking (and cold swimming) in the Kourtaliotiko Gorge. Eleni and Georgios are amazing hosts: communicative, friendly, thoughtful, offering local recommendations and dealing with any questions or issues efficiently - thank you! 🤩

Our stay at Villa Castellum was amazing! The villa is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The hammam added an extra touch of luxury and made our stay even more relaxing. We stayed here for a family vacation, and it was just what we needed. The beach and the village are only a 10-minute drive away. The house had everything we needed—nothing was missing, and everything was thoughtfully provided. Maria was incredibly kind and helpful—she responded quickly to all our questions and made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you, and we will definitely come back!

We had an amazing stay at the villa! Everything was exactly as described – clean, well-equipped, and in a beautiful, quiet location. We stayed at the house as a group of 5 and had the most amazing time. The house is spacious, has a big kitchen with all necessary supplies and had a lot of room to sit together, a perfect place for each time of the day. And not to forget about the amazing view!!! Worth to highlight is that there were a lot of extra supplies in the house like olive oil, raki, etc. We enjoyed that a lot. Also the outside area was cleaned everyday and the bathrooms were cleaned once during the stay. We didn’t miss a thing and can highly recommend staying in this amazing house with great hosts!!

Beautiful peaceful relaxing villa for a getaway. Close enough to larger centre. The place was spotless on arrival, with some treats on the table. Wonderful view, nice pool area The host was very helpful, brought us a wonderful Greek dinner one evening. Top notch Would definitely return to this place
