Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Rethymno

Travelling with 2 kids & grandma, this was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, 3 comfortable bedrooms, lots of living space, well equipped and a 10 minute drive from the city centre. Hosts responded to messages within minutes and were very welcoming. Can't reccomend enough!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Despina! The location is fantastically quiet, perfect for relaxing, and at the same time a good base for exploring the south of Crete. The villa itself is very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped – from the kitchen to the beautiful outdoor area with pool, everything was well maintained. We particularly liked the warm hospitality and the little touches when we arrived. We felt right at home! A real highlight: the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and the sunsets in the evening. We will be happy to come back and can recommend Villa Despina to anyone looking for peace, comfort and Cretan warmth. Thank you for everything!

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It's tucked away in a very secluded spot, which makes it wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, you can reach restaurants and a mini market in just a few minutes. A car is essential! The garden is stunning. The biodiversity is incredible. There's always something new to discover. The house is quite small and simply furnished, but that was absolutely fine. Everything was clean, and that's what matters most. The long driveway leading to the house can be a bit intimidating—it just slopes down without any railing or guard. But that’s just part of the Cretan charm. Giannis was always very friendly and helpful—thank you for everything! We also got to know the neighboring family and even visited them. Such kind people. And the animals! Aphroditi the horse, a peacock, chickens, and turkeys—our daughter loved them. Overall a great experience. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it. Who knows—maybe we’ll be back in a few years!

This was the best Airbnb we've stayed at. Lovely village with restaurants, a bakery and markets for most of what you'd need. On arrival the house had been generously stocked with more than we expected. Argiro and her family were very kind and helpful. Definitely recommend Iro House. Thanks so much Argiro, we will be back!

Super clean and cozy apartment. We felt very comfortable from start to finish. Our host Panagiotis was always friendly and reliable. Supermarkets, different restaurants and the beach were within walking distance and around the property you always found a (free) parking space. Clear recommendation for anyone who wants to travel to the beautiful Agia Galini 👍🏻

My family and I had an amazing time during our recent stay at Christos place. Everything we needed was available, and or Christos ensured we had it. Made excellent restaurant recommendations and he booked us a table a the very popular Prima Plora with excellent food, and view. During my stay, I was ableto enjoy the rooftop admiring the lights and ambiance of the old town. I highly reccomend this apartment if you’re in Rethymno, I am looking forward to my next stay.

Great communication from Evangelos. Very helpful. The place was lovely with everything we needed and the beach at the end of the garden great for snorkelling. The family were very friendly, helpful and generous We were given delicious fresh eggs and potatoes. Thank you for a lovely stay.

If you wish to experience a secluded garden by a non-travelled beach, almost like your own access to the sea, that is the place. A very good taverna is few meters away. Nothing best to let stress, driving, movida and consumerism behind one's shoulders for some days. Dimitri and his family have created a heaven of peace and a beautiful garden. The holiday-house from their parents is still decorated like in the 80s, but all the essentials are there. The generous welcoming, with a large basket of fruit, olive oil and salad from the herb garden, complete the feeling of coming home. Efkaristò! Many thanks! Rossella

Our stay at Mama La Roosa Villa was a dream. Petros was an outstanding host who went above and beyond to ensure that we had a relaxing stay in Agia Pelagia. The villa was stunning - it had gorgeous ocean views from every angle, beautiful landscaping, and a modern design with every amenity needed for our trip. The villa felt quiet, private, and safe. We enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning. We enjoyed the pool and backyard dining area so much that we decided to skip the beach! The warm hospitality from Petros is what made the stay - he arranged reservations at the best local restaurants and wineries. We felt that we were able to truly experience Greece thanks to our stay with Petros at Mama La Roosa Villa. We wish we could stay longer and can’t wait to return. We had a wonderful, peaceful & relaxing week in this beautiful house. Amazing location, stylish, spacious, comfortable & very well-equipped. It’s 3 minutes from the small town of Sellia (3 or 4 nice traditional restaurants & small but useful supermarket), 10 minutes from the bigger (seaside town) of Plakias (many restaurants, 2 big supermarkets, butcher & baker), yet out on its own: utterly quiet & private and with beautiful, uninterrupted views of the sea. Cordula - who created this fabulous place, from ground up & with incredible attention to detail, is a perfect host. She couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful: at all stages proactive, quick & very clear communication and always concerned about our convenience & comfort. Our flight time meant we didn’t arrive until 8pm & Cordula offered to order & collect food from one of the excellent local restaurants & keep it warm in the oven, so after a long & tiring journey our holiday started straightaway. We would love to return.

Beautiful stone villa perfect for our family! The weather was too cool to utilize the pool but we enjoyed a glass of wine outside in the picturesque settings. When booking, we made the assumption the smaller pool was the hot tub/jacuzzi however it is a smaller (not heated) pool for younger children. The jacuzzi is in the master bedroom. We were very sad to say goodbye to this home.

Elizabeth and Lily's place is absolutely gorgeous. The house was impecable. Super clean. Very spacious, lots of bright light, and also has automatic dark shades. Towels were super comfortable, you get both shower and beach towels. We had a welcome basket with bread, jam, honey, there was fruit and water bottles in the fridge. Super attentive host. The house is probably the best one in the complex. Excellent view of the ocean, you can see some magnificent sunsets right from the balcony. There is also a terrace where you can have breakfast/coffee. The pool is super close, clean and gated with a keypad. Very secure area. Absolutely loved it. I wish I was there still. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it to everyone!

Lovely villa sitting in the hills outside of Rethymno City. All self contained and immaculately kept and maintained. Very responsive host who was most welcoming. Nikos and his daughter Katerina did a fantastic job responding to our needs and making us most welcome. Katerina has superb English so communication was never a problem. Would thoroughly recommend. It would also suggest you need a car to get about either down the hill to City and beaches or up the hill to mountain villages and exploring. Pool is great and outdoor space around the villa is superb. Reccomendations - we followed up on a few authentic tavernas from Katerina and they were superb. Would defo go and eat at Athivoles Taverna in Chromonastiri. Only a short drive away ie 7 km but basically the most authentic Cretan cuisine you will taste for sure. Hits were magnificent. All in all we had a great family holiday.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this Airbnb with the whole family! The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing visit. Our stay at Villa Castellum was amazing! The villa is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The hammam added an extra touch of luxury and made our stay even more relaxing. We stayed here for a family vacation, and it was just what we needed. The beach and the village are only a 10-minute drive away. The house had everything we needed—nothing was missing, and everything was thoughtfully provided. Maria was incredibly kind and helpful—she responded quickly to all our questions and made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you, and we will definitely come back!

A great place to stay when you want to be near town but prefer a quiet area. The apartment had everything that we needed for our stay. The host was also great, very responsive and he even arranged us a baby cot which made our lives much easier.

Our stay at Nikos' place was just amazing. The apartment was not only easy to find, but also extremely spacious and comfortable for two people. We liked the decor very much. The location is great, whether on foot or by car, you are quickly close to restaurants, cafes and a small supermarket that offers everything you need. We especially appreciated the garden, but it was temporarily affected by a construction site, which will be over soon. We will be happy to come back!
