Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

This tiny house/cabin features two lofts with queen-sized beds, a wood burning fireplace, dock with paddle boat on two acre pond, access to the Pike River and 20 acres of land for hiking and recreation. Cook in the kitchen or over the outdoor fire pit. Enjoy a wood-fired sauna and cool off with a dip in the pond. Bring a fishing rod and catch dinner out of the pond or the river! No running water but indoor composting toilet and a rain barrel/sink.

Washer and dryer are in the spacious bathroom with a shower. Full kitchen and electric fireplace. Handicap accessible with stairlift from garage. Full sized bed with additional pullout couch.

Animal Lovers, this studio is a quiet place to relax, 9miles (13 minutes) from town, after a day of outdoor activities. The space is a charming and quant, tiny 300 sq ft attached space, and offers a full bathroom, a full size bed, and efficiency kitchen with a microwave, hot plate and toaster oven (no stove or oven). This quiet space is located on a small hobby farm with a many social animals. Sip your coffee and watch our sheep graze before you head out on your next adventure

Cozy & Clean Chassell Roadside Cottage

This is a non-smoking studio type cottage with a queen bed and futon. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, double burner hotplate, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. Kitchen essentials are provided. Bathroom towels and bedding are also provided. Cottage also has a grill, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and Netflix. (SORRY, NO PETS. NO SMOKING, OR PARTIES ALLOWED. $400 fine) Chassell beach is two blocks away, and hiking trails are 1 block. MTU is a 10 minute drive.
