Cottage vacation rentals in Placer County

Our best winter (Christmas trip) yet! My family & I have been spending Christmas week in Tahoe for years and this home is the first property that we want to come back to again! It is a mixture of the listing is a home and has all the comforts of an actual home. The location is amazing for skiing, dinning, shopping and still being walkable to "backcountry" trails. Lel is an amazing host and her heart to serve is what makes staying there that much better. She really took care of us for some of our winter adventures! As an Airbnb host myself, Lel's place (including her as a host) is the full package!

A peaceful retreat on a beautiful ranch! This lovely cottage was the perfect getaway: peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature. We especially loved all the birds around the property! The house had everything we needed (and then some), making it feel like a true home away from home. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We’d absolutely love to come back again!

Cara’s place is a gem and we’re glad we found it. The perfect getaway from the busy Bay Area. Certainly, the creek just beneath really is the unique part of the whole experience. Of course we loved the hot tub and all other amenities too!

Great location with a 5 min walk to Kings Beach, and house was exactly as described. Super responsive hosts and good communication to get in and out.

Darling little cottage. The space had everything we needed and then some. My kids loved the darts and foosball table. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. If we ever visit again, we would definitely stay here.

Perfect place for a ski week! Sarah was very responsive and attentive, and the cabin was private and well-maintained. Could not have asked for a better location.

It's remote and peaceful. A great place if you have dogs that need to be walked. No traffic. The road getting to it is a bit rough with speed bumps so just go slow thru the neighborhoods and you won't have any issues. We had everything we needed and more!

Aurelia was very kind and generous with her quick responses. This was a very unique property. I would stay again!

Andreas place was a nice quiet getaway! Was nice and clean and Andrea is around and very responsive to help with anything.

Great place for a couple to get away. Tidy layout, nice area, everything you need close to hand. It was storming pretty heavily when we stayed and it was really fun to watch it out the windows and hear it on the roof!

Tracy and J.P. are absolutely amazing hosts! Warm, welcoming, and thoughtful in every way. Their home is beautiful, peaceful, and full of charm, and their dogs, Kona and Piper, are simply adorable! If you’re a dog lover, you’ll feel right at home and completely loved - our dogs had the best time too! The neighborhood is quiet and lovely, with kind and helpful neighbors that make the stay even more special. This is one of those rare places that leaves a lasting impression. I wouldn’t just recommend it, I’m already looking forward to coming back!

We were going to a mountain wedding, and Sharon’s place was recommended to us by a family member. It was absolutely beautiful. The place was spotless. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, coffee pods and tea. She did suggest to get groceries before getting into town, which was very helpful. There was a cool game room which was a great touch. We all commented how well the house was decorated. It made for a warm welcome. The outdoor area was so relaxing, and there were nice places to walk and see beautiful wildflowers. We had an amazing stay, and would definitely rent again if we were in the area.

This country cottage is centrally located in a peaceful location at the end of a private road. With access to the wine and ale trail as well as the venue for concerts and a farmers market down the road, there was lots to do. We loved the creek and welcoming touches the hosts provided and appreciated their friendly and prompt communication as well as accommodating an earlier check in for us. This as our 2nd stay at Trevor’s cottage. We love the privacy and peaceful environment! We have family in Lincoln, so the farm is very convenient. We enjoyed going close by into Old Town Lincoln for a few meals. The cottage was clean and comfortable! Perfect for 2 people. We enjoyed sitting on the back patio with our coffee & listening to the birds. We highly recommend this quaint getaway home!

Beautiful cottage. Very accommodating and up-to-date. The chickens are absolutely darling. The best wineries just minutes away. Didn’t think it was possible to enjoy our second stay more so than the first. Can’t wait to return.

We loved our time at Ravine’s Edge - cool, eclectic and very peaceful.

Kippy was an incredible host. Very communicative, ensured I had everything I needed, and extremely responsive! There were several personal touches, including a note written to me, snacks, plenty of ice, and the bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries (in case anything was needed). The property was so lovely inside & out. It was quiet & peaceful, with several beautiful places in the backyard to sit and relax. The canopy of trees & umbrella created plenty of shade. There were several places within walking distance, including restaurants & some shops. It was a little slice of heaven for a short getaway.

Loved how close the house was to the sweet downtown area, which is filled with restaurants and cafes and shops. And was grateful for all the amenities that were provided from spotless linens to everything you could possibly imagine needing in the kitchen. Also really appreciated the hosts’ responsiveness.

We had a fantastic time! The house is 5 minutes from the beach, walking distance to restaurants and miniature golf. The home was super clean and had all the needed amenities and some. The washer/dryer was a plus. My 8 year old daughter loved the loft upstairs. We are excited to stay again.

We LOVED our stay at Elany’s place. It felt right at home. There was a beautiful view from the balcony - every morning I woke up to hear birds singing. The place is really spacious - it is bigger than it looks in the pictures. There’s a bath tub in the bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. Elany gave us a lot of recommendations where to go and what to do (we enjoyed hiking in the nearby area). The house is well located - just about 10 minutes to Grass Valley. We would definitely recommend it!

Hans was a lovely host! Location could not have been better for skiing and was great for a weekend! Was great with directions and communication, definitely recommend!
