Monthly Rentals in Pelican

This adorable little cottage is perched right on the Wisconsin River (perfect for nature watching.) It's very well appointed, with fully stocked kitchen, bath, and comfy throws and pillows. There was even a little welcome snack when we arrived. And while the residence feels perfectly secluded, it is just a short walk to plenty of amenities including the cute historical downtown area.

We could not have been happier with our decision to stay at Little Red! Sue is a phenomenal host; whether it was accommodating our unexpected early arrival or sharing the secret behind the fresh scent of her linens, Sue went above and beyond when it came to taking care of our needs. The property itself is also worthy of praise. Little Red is located on an accessible road, making it easy to come and go year round. This makes it easy to enjoy the local attractions, especially with Sue’s detailed recommendations left on-site. Summertime visitors will love the convenient access to the lake as well as the amenities Sue provides, such as fishing equipment and water toys to explore the lake. Winter visitors will also appreciate features like a wood stove and plenty of wood. It is not an easy task to make someone feel at home while on vacation, but Little Red truly felt like our home away from home during our stay, and we are already considering a return visit in the fall. This cabin was just what we needed. right by the lake and across the street from a resturant/bar (did not get a chance to eat there). Nice and clean and not to far from town and Hodag Dome.

For the most part the place is as advertised. There are pro's and cons with the location. It is very conveniently located but with it being so close to the town of Rhinelander, you get more traffic noise. The lake picture is a little deceiving. When you see a swim raft you think the water is deeper. It is located in a shallow area. Unless you are out in the bay more you are swimmng with weeds. If you are bringing a boat, take it slow coming into the dock until you know the lake. The bay has some rock points that come up quite shallow. Be careful. The amenities were great. The water toys, kayaks, and chairs for the campfire were awesome. Lake Julia is full of fish. Not all of them are big but if you want to catch bass after bass this is the lake to do it. I would come back.
