Cottage vacation rentals in Ohio River

Enjoyed our stay. Quiet and had everything we needed. The hot tub was the best part. Would stay there again. Was a great weekend getaway.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Home was exactly what we were looking for with our selection. Peaceful area with hiking near the home in the Taylorsville State Park.

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The place was exactly the right size — cozy yet spacious enough to feel comfortable. Everything was incredibly clean and well-maintained inside. The amenities were top-notch, and it’s clear the host put a lot of thought into making the space welcoming and functional. I especially appreciated the clear labels and detailed instructions for everything, which made settling in super easy. Would absolutely stay here again!

It was a great family time. We enjoyed it a lot. I am always afraid of what the place will look like because I have had some bad experiences and in this case everything was exactly as in the photos. We had Awesome time and created family memories. Thank you

To keep it short & simple.. everything was fabulous. Owner seemed very nice. Very helpful and responsive with any questions. They gave us complete privacy but made sure we knew exactly how to reach them if we needed ANYTHING. The cabin is very organized, labeled, clean, ect. My personal favorite was the screened-in porch. Really appreciated the fact that they left a large wagon right where we park so we could take all our things to the cabin in one trip. Would highly recommend!

We had a great stay. The property is beautiful and peaceful. They have done a great job making it a little piece of paradise! KT house was clean, cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The Pavilion and Redd's Pub was wonderful. Eddie was great and hung out with us for a bit at the pub for great conversation, laughter, and a few drinks! They go above and beyond what most hosts do in the Airbnb's we've stayed at. We highly recommend staying at KT house and hope we make it back there again sometime! Thanks so much for the great stay!

Great value. Very clean spacious home. The dock area / back yard is staggered with a next door neighbor but we felt it was still secluded with good respectful neighbors. The personal slip was great to store our boat for the weekend. Just know the water depth on the lake is consistently averages approx. 5 feet deep. The Hot tub was awesome. Grill was clean and supplied with propane. Would recommend this home for family and friends in the future.

My husband and I enjoyed a beautiful and peaceful weekend here. The location was absolutely perfect - you were anywhere from 10-15 minutes away from dining and shopping. The views from the property were breathtaking and a very quiet street. My husband and I enjoyed an evening walk on the street and saw some cows! We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and yummy cinnamon rolls in the morning. The cabin was clean and spacious. Highly recommend this spot for your Amish country getaway!

Kimberly's place is beautiful! The lake setting is peaceful and welcoming. The home has been wonderfully remodeled. All the furniture is comfortable and fits the beauty of the home! The kitchen has everything you need from spices to pots and pans as well as a few items for leftovers too! Beds were comfy. The deck was perfect to sit and have coffee on and watch the sunrise or a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the lake! We highly recommend Kim's place!

A beautiful location, right on the Watauga river. A very peaceful and serene environment. My family and I loved staying here and my 3 yr old son especially loved seeing the geese and playing in the river. The house is older construction, but very charming. It has been updated beautifully for modern day comfort. The host was very accommodating. The hot tub was very clean and very relaxing. We would love to stay here again.

Bob and Mary were outstanding hosts. One of the most comfortable interactions we have had, felt like old friends. They have beautiful trails established on the property that were excellently marked. Such a beautiful spot to enjoy nature. They were very open to having dog visitors and the setting is ideal for animals with the openness and the trails. Well off main roads so no concerns with traffic. The cottage was charming and clean. Having meals on the screened porch overlooking the pond started and ended each day. Watching the fire flies in the evening was a treat. Reminded me of my grandmother’s home with the decor. They guided us to good hiking trails and local attractions. Picking local blueberries on Bob’s recommendation was memory making. We are already talking about a return trip

Loved this little cabin! It was clean and we felt right at home. Great communication from the host and she even let us hang out a bit after check out. This was huge because we got in after dark and were only staying one night. The kayaks were a hit with the kids!

Good place to stay close to Holiday World. Peaceful farm. Welcome cookies were yummy and thoughtful. My kids loved playing with your yellow cat and watching the other farm animals.

Amazing place but even more important, amazing people. Highly recommend, excellent communication and phenomenally accommodating hosts. 5 stars across the board.

I am most grateful for this little hideaway. From the front gate, the place is unassuming and tucked away... but just past a few curves, hills, and bends a peaceful and welcoming cottage emerges. My wife and I loved the peaceful cottage, just perfect for a couple (or small family) and their dog, with nothing but open air and horses grazing in the pasture. It was beautiful and everything it was billed to be. Thanks for a great experience... we will definitely be back! :) N. Davis

We enjoyed our stay in Dugspur immensely. The house is lovely, everything we needed was there - extra points for having a nicely stocked kitchen cabinet and a hair drier on site! We grilled, we cooked, we used the fire pit, we spent time in and at the creek - lots of deer and so peaceful. If I had any feedback, it would be that there were a lot of blackberry brambles and poison on the trail to the creek that need to be cleared for safety. I would like to add that we went during an explosive growth season, this cabin is deep in the woods, and as a gardener I know that especially those two plants are incredibly aggressive, so I understand why it’s all there. I was the only one not allergic to poison ivy and everyone else was pretty nervous for a few hours after our trek. The next time we went down, we drove instead, so it’s definitely a surmountable obstacle, we just love a hiking trail so tried that first. Regardless, we would highly recommend Rebecca’s cabin, and hope to be back!

What a great Airbnb stay at John's place! The cabin is right on the river and super cozy. The deck and the living room have gorgeous views of the river and hearing the water rushing right outside is so peaceful. Seeing the trains pass by was pretty cool. There is some train noise at night, but ultimately it isn't too bothersome. The value was amazing. You're less than five away from the southern border of New River Gorge National Park and its such a great base camp to explore the area and relax after a long day.

Graham and Lauren were amazing in their communication. They provided detailed and quick responses. As well as provided many suggestions for what to do, see and eat. The house itself was gorgeous, not to mention the surrounding landscape. All descriptions were accurate and they even provided us with a few breakfast items. 10/10 would recommend!

From the time we opened the front door until the time we left it just felt like a cozy cabin in the woods.; a true log cabin. Would absolutely stay there again !!!

My husband and I stayed the weekend for our anniversary. Even though it was a last minute reservation everything was perfect. I definitely did my research of the area and this stay was BY FAR the absolute best bang for the buck. Close enough to everything in any direction but just far enough off the main highways to still feel like you are way out in the country. The little cabin was perfect! Claw foot tub for soaking after a long hike, check. Outdoor shower for long lazy showering, check. Full kitchen for not spending an arm and a leg on every drink or snack or meal while away from home, check. Close enough to drive to any restaurant when you don't want to have to cook, check. All in all - perfect!
