Old water mill between the mountain and the beach

The Vallina Mill is a recently restored old water mill with garden, a terrace with barbecue, 10 minutes from the beach, 15 from Llanes and Ribadesella. Great location to visit Picos de Europa. The house maintains the charm of its original stone, grinding stones, terrace and through a stone bridge you can cross the old watercourse of the mill. In addition, the property is very quiet and there is a river where our guests can have a bath to the side of a Roman bridge. The experience is unique!

Just the holiday place we were looking for: A rural location with a sizeable garden, close to the coast, biking opportunities and the mountains. The house was as advertised, was very comfortable and we would certainly use it again. The village is very rural and no facilities but basics can be found in nearby Nueva. Ribadesella and Llana are about 20 mins easy drive away (in opposite directions) which are larger towns with lots of restaurants and a busy vibe in the evenings. Each has a good Almerka supermarket (which have very good fresh seafood counters) just out of the centre. The coast is exciting with sandy bays in between rocky cliffs. The Picos de Europa are easily accessible for day walks in proper mountains. There are numerous opportunities for organised adventurous activity and several companies have offices in Ribadesella. Larger towns such as Oviedo, Gijon and even Santander are doable as day trips. But please don't tell everyone: The area is still unspoilt by mass tourism.

The house is wonderful. It is fully equipped, it lacks nothing. The amenities of the house are very modern, very chic and absolutely functional. It sounds funny: We immediately felt at home. Communication with Laura was top notch. Very fast and reliable, she also brought firewood for the great fireplace at short notice, because in the evening and at night it was quite cool outside. We're awarding 150 points out of 100!
