Yurt vacation rentals in Northeastern United States

I needed a little break from my every day Vermont life. This was the perfect spot to get away from everything, but still not be far from home. I would definitely go back! Thank you so much!

We went for a weekend getaway. The experience was what we expected it to be. It was surrounded by the woods, we got to light our own fire in the pit, roasted a few things. However, due to light rains had to wrap it up a little early (can't do anything about it), still thoroughly enjoyed it. The kitchen is equipped to prepare some basic stuff, and an outdoor BBQ for some heavy cooking (if weather permits). We were welcomed by the hosts and their two cute dogs. Expect that there will be other dogs around, as this is a pet friendly place. We made our own fire in the fire pit and room heater, there was plenty of wood, and tools to prepare kindling. We didn't need the room heater in fall season. My only feedback would be for washroom. Sometimes the smell can creep in the yurt if the flap in the toilet doesn't close correctly. Overall I would highly recommend the place, it was as it is put in the description.

Ellen and Jay were great hosts! They made sure we had enough wood pellets to keep the stove on and warm enough during the chilly November weather. They were very responsive and incredibly helpful. The property is stunning and the yurt was luxurious. We had a wonderful trip and cannot recommend this place enough!

Ed and Rick were thoughtful and caring hosts who paid attention to every detail. The yurt was magical. Building a campfire and walking with the goats felt purposeful and calming.. We found our experience to be relaxing and rejuvenating and renewing to the soul. "The earth does not belong to us; we belong to the earth". "Time spent amongst trees is never wasted time". "A walk in nature walks the soul back home".

We absolutely loved staying in the yurt with our 2 and 4 year old! There was lots to explore in the yard and the beautiful surroundings and the yurt was a cozy peaceful retreat for the whole family.

The Yurt was just what we were looking for: very close to Old Rag, quiet, private and clean. The fire pit was a great evening activity and we are very thankful for all the firewood on hand. Tom had many recommendations and we felt prepared for the stay. Thanks for your hospitality

If you are looking for a cozy getaway to the woods that keeps you close to both cities and beautiful wild areas, this is it. The walk back to the yurt is private and beautiful -- between the fall foliage, the little mushrooms growing along the path, and all the chipmunks and squirrels there to greet you, it's something out of a storybook. The place is lit up well at night, with very cozy lighting inside as well! The woodstove was enough to keep me warm, even as a person now accustomed to Florida weather, and there were SO MANY blankets made available just in case. It was so lovely to lay in bed at night and watch the stars through the top of the yurt and listen to the acorns fall and roll down the sides - I've never slept more deeply at an Airbnb. The bathroom is outside, but the motion lights at night made it easy to go about my business. If you're a camper, it will feel like a luxurious little setup! I couldn't recommend it enough. Such a wonderful place to take a breather!

Jill was an amazing host! She communicated perfectly about everything from the property to the local attractions, restaurants and attractions! My husband was the guest, away to fish and enjoy the water! He said the surrounding and atmosphere were perfect for anyone wanting to be submersed in nature! He will most definitely be back!

Idk why these reviews mention the barking dogs at all. They didn’t bark that often 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, despite freezing outside temps at night, it wasn’t as cold as some reviews said it was going to be. The wood stove works wonderfully for heat, you just have to keep the doors closed to keep the heat in. My kid loved cooking on the wood stove and getting water from the stream. We felt like pioneers 😂 I also chose to use firewood bundles from the Cumberland Farms down the street- deff helped keep the fire going. We brought sleeping bags, which I’m sure helped too. This was such a fun trip! Highly recommend.

Upon arrival to the Yurt, Jason came outside from his house, welcomed me, and told me about his farm. He warmed up the Yurt before I got there so I wouldn't be cold when I walked in. I had a very peaceful stay and Jason even told me when his farm shop was open so that I could peruse their wares. The drive to Deep Creek and the srounding parks was no bad and the sound of the stream at night were very nice. I highly recommend and would stay here again. Warning: His friendly dogs will greet you as you get out of your car, so if you don't like dogs then I'm sure Jason would keep them in when you arrive. Advisory: Jason's Highland Cows are the cutest. You will want to pet them and the dark brown one will want to you pet him. If you only like to see them from afar, don't worry, they are behind a fense. P.S. This place did not smell too much like a farm at all!

We had an incredible time! The yurt is absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable! We loved exploring the property with our dog as well as checking out some of the breweries/distilleries & restaurants in the area! Definitely on our list of places to stay again- highly recommend!

Where do I start!? We traveled to Maine with zero plans and quickly decided to make our long weekend a road trip. We booked this location the day of and the host immediately started helping us make plans for a ferry. We are NOT camping people but this was an amazing experience! The host picked us up from the ferry and took us right up to the door of the yurt. It was a chilly evening and she made sure to turn on the electric blanket and made sure we had enough fuel for the heater. The next morning she let us borrow two bikes and we rode to the general store for breakfast (very tasty and nice dogs, staff were wonderful as well!) and then to the beach. All the locals we met were very friendly! When it was time to leave the host was gracious enough to give us a tour of the island. We very much enjoyed staying here and will recommend it to everyone! Thank you SO much! This will go down as one of our favorite Airbnbs.

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend and honestly, it was exactly what we needed. The place was incredibly cozy and comfortable—warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up. It had this peaceful vibe that made it easy to just slow down and breathe for a while. Whether it was the quiet of the woods, the gentle sounds of nature, or just the way the space was laid out, it all added up to a really relaxing, almost transcendent experience. You can tell care went into making this place a true getaway. If you’re looking to unplug, reset, or just find a little peace, this yurt delivers. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

This was a very unique place to stay. The authentic Mongolian yurt was cozy, warm and beautiful. The surrounding farmland provided a peaceful and serene setting. The yurt and seperate heated washroom were very clean and well appointed. Ace and family went above and beyond to welcome us, and make us feel right at home. I recommend you check it out!

We are repeat visitors to Western Maine Yurts, although we had never stayed in this newer “village”. I liked the layout, proximity to the bathhouse yet still private & near the trails. We stayed in Kennebec. We were a last minute check in & Alex & Tricia were extremely attentive & accommodating! You really can’t go wrong with the experience they provide! We will be back!!

We adored this space - natural, calm, and friendly vibe. The yurt was very spacious and bright with many lighting options. On a chilly fall evening we found that the wood stove had been stocked and lit already - much appreciated!

Believe the hype! We needed a few days of R&R and it was the perfect location and setup. The yurt was a lovely, domed, sunny space. Great views. Very well equipped. The outdoor space was wonderful. Sitting on the deck in the hot tub under the stars or resting by the gas fire was so relaxing. We had everything we needed. Bed and other furniture very comfy. Can’t say enough. We hope to back soon.

Great and spacious place, with many amenities. Offers an amazing view of the stars! Located a fairly quick drive from various towns. Throughly enjoyed our short but sweet stay!

Great weekend getaway for us and our dog. Wonderful spot for fires and walks on the property. The Yurt was very nice and wondering to sleep in during a thunderstorm. Nice low key low maintenance place to get away! Will come again.

This was our first time in a yurt, and it was fantastic! Just the structure of the yurt itself was amazing to look at. The birch supports were beautiful and interesting. The beds were comfortable, the wood stove easy to use, and it kept us quite warm in 30-degree temperatures. Everything about the site was easy. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the appliances worked well. We had a wonderfully comfortable stay. The place felt both spacious and cozy. Even the porta-potty was more pleasant than others we have used. There were little extras that enhanced the experience -- a rocking bench and comfortable chairs around the firepit, unlimited firewood, decorations in the yurt, whimsical hand-blown glasses, and a step above typical dinnerware. Jamie went out of his way to accommodate us when we misread the listing and did not have water. He was gracious about supplying us with 5-gallon jugs that saved our weekend. We highly recommend Wild Acres and will eagerly return!

We had a memorable stay at Loomis Lair and look forward to a longer return visit. Michael's thoughtful recommendations for local hikes, restaurants and an exceptional bakery significantly enhanced our visit to the region. I've already suggested this very special retreat to family and friends.
