Cottage vacation rentals in Northeast Italy

Davide and Annalisa's cottage was absolutely gorgeous, exactly as the pictures showed. It was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy our last week in Italy. Breakfast out on the patio with the birds chirping and surrounded by nature was a great way to start the day. Davide lit the heater for the hot tub for us and we were able to enjoy a wonderful evening relaxing. Davide and Annalisa were full of good recommendations for restaurants and local places to visit. The cottage is within driving distance of so much - Pisa, Florence, Siena and of course San Gimignano just to name a few. All the amenities we needed were included, the WIFI was great and the cottage was very comfortable. I would highly recommended staying here and if we are ever in the vicinity we would certainly stay here again.

My family and I stayed at the Red Fairytale Farm, and it was a truly beautiful experience. The property is full of charming details that give it a magical, welcoming feel. We also ordered the breakfast, which was incredibly fresh and delicious — highly recommended.

Sara and Brian are truly amazing hosts—proactive, kind, and fascinating to talk to. Their home is enchanting, like stepping into a real fairytale. You can feel how much love and care they’ve poured into every detail. It’s one of the most spectacular places we’ve ever stayed in! Not only is the house and the garden magical, but it’s also so practical and thoughtfully equipped, providing everything you could think of to make your stay comfortable. The gym was fantastic, and the house had plenty of space for two families. Even with 2 adults and 4 “monkeys” (our energetic kids), there was room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and celebrating New Year’s Eve with fireworks lighting up the entire region was an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Sara and Brian, for sharing your incredible home with us. We can’t wait to return!!!

We had a fantastic time staying in Dervio at Francesco’s place and exploring the towns surrounding lake Como. The place is perfect for so many reasons, the location is great, right on a small beach with amazing views and a walking path that takes you into town. It’s a short 7 minute walk from the train station and 10 minutes to downtown area with restaurants. There are tons of old walkways that allow you to explore the area. We spent a couple days taking the train and ferry to Bellano, Veranna, and Bellagio (very happy to be in Dervio). We also have two small kids and found the place was great for families with crib, beds with guard rails, and a high chair, along with a playground that just out the front door. The gates were excellent for preventing kids from going to the road or to the lake. The best part was Francesco and his family, they are very warm and welcoming! We spent time with him, his father, aunt, and cousin and very much enjoyed getting to know them!

The place is located on top of the hill. It has been a pleasure to stay for a few nights at Federico's place. He has been really helpful when we asked questions, to find the place etc. It is a lovely family house. We did not test the jaccuzi because off season but I guess on sunny days it must be amazing. The view from the house is stunning.

Sonia's Airbnb is breathtaking. The view of Lake Como is even more beautiful than the photos in the listing. Sonia is a wonderful host - she provides recommendations, answered all of my questions and always made sure that we had everything we needed. I wished we had explored the lake with her on her sailboat so if you get the opportunity I would book it! The only thing I would advise future renters is that the road to Sonia's Airbnb in Brunate is VERY, VERY narrow and winds around and around. It is very easy to get lost and go down the wrong street. If you're renting car, try to get the smallest car possible - it will help you to maneuver the narrows roads. There is a funicular stop close to the house so you could walk there and take it to Como or to the top of Brunate. It is much easier to get off at the top of Brunate and walk downhill to the house. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway.

I experienced wonderful days in this beautiful location, which reminded me of the summers I used to spend at my grandparents' house in the countryside. I only realized coming here how much I need to be able to completely switch off and let time just pass enjoying the fantastic views of the Alpi Apuane. That's how I chose to spend my days, but I note that there would be plenty of hiking or driving around to visit the picturesque villages nearby should one wish to explore the surroundings. The facilities were exactly what is required for a few day stay. The hosts (Laura and Silvio) were present when needed, otherwise they left us to enjoy the place. I enjoyed my conversations with them, and loved their pets. About the place itself, it was as described in the listing, and by previous reviews. I just note that in spite of the extreme heat (it is an anomalous year also in this idyllic place), the evenings were fresh and cool, and the temperature inside the cottage was perfect.

We especially enjoyed the time in the beautiful house with the dream harbor view. In the evening, when the lights go on and the sun goes down, you can hardly get enough. It is also a good starting point for hikes and you can also swim well in the surrounding lakes.

Great stay at this small cliff-side house. Amazing view with a large terrace facing the sea. The description and photos of the accommodation are accurate. Very nice experience.

Beautiful views, private, peaceful and a great location to explore the different towns around the lake!

Truly gorgeous accommodation. We were greeted by Eleonora's mother. As we were were travelling from other city in Italy we arrived early and she was happy to allow us to start our stay. There was a folder provided with all the important details, but this beautiful lady also explained everything else including her favourite places to visit, nearest bus stops and all the other little things that are useful. We were also advised that there was a chance of both a visiting cat (which sadly we hardly saw) and her large dog, similar to a Huskie. The latter visited just the once and was an adorable, a big cuddly softie. The only one very small negative was that the water tank was quite small so the showers had to be taken quickly, before washing the breakfast pots or coping with the cold water! Again we were warned! The accommodation was comfortable and totally private with a secure parking place. A very peaceful nights sleep. Everything we needed was supplied. Great value.

First of all, it should be emphasized that Fabio is a wonderful, courteous and helpful host. The house is lovingly and stylishly decorated. The village is located in the middle of the mountains of Garfagnana and together with its surroundings it is an oasis of tranquility. From Bagni di Lucca, a 7 km long, narrow, winding road leads to Lugnano-Monti di Villa. On the route, you will pass 2 more small villages. One of them is Granaiola, where you can eat super delicious food at Laura's. We will be happy to come back :-) Anne and Helga

The house is quiet and picturesquely located and has a wonderful old charm. The area around the house is very nice and the hostess was very friendly and nice.

We were at Annanmária's last year, and we already knew that if we came to this area again, we would only stay here. The accommodation is in a very clean, tidy, quiet environment, there are plenty of attractions in the neighborhood, Annamária and her family are very kind, I highly recommend this accommodation to everyone!

A very pleasant stay in a green and very peaceful environment! Marco and Maria immediately made us feel at home. The space was seamlessly equipped. Besides, it seemed much bigger than we had imagined with the photos! We would recommend it without hesitation!

We had a lovely stay at Matt and Anna’s “kucica” home! Everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful and everything was even better than the description. What really stood out for us was the dinner - such an incredible experience and we will cherish the memories for a lifetime. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a fantastic stay at Daniele's place in Pavullo nel Frignano. From the moment we arrived, Daniele made us feel welcome and at home. The warm welcome also included local delicacies, a few products in the fridge and a bottle of delicious Lambrusco. The house was perfect: clean, well maintained and equipped with all the comforts we needed. The garden was beautiful and offered a lovely place to relax. The location was also ideal, with easy access to the places of interest in the area. We really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend Daniele's home to anyone looking for a great place to stay. The AirBnB is an absolute highlight! From the location, to the detailed attentions in the apartment, to the communication with Gianni and his wife. The path from the parking lot to the car is a bit challenging, but very doable. The beach is about a 20-minute walk (only stairs, great as a workout!)

From check-in to check-out, everything was wonderful. We were personally greeted and seen off by Mateja and Kevin at the property. The place fully corresponded to the description and we felt completely at home. This apartment is definitely recommended!

This cottage is delightful, full of thoughtful and comfortable details. We didn't stay long enough to enjoy the house to the fullest, we would have also liked to take advantage of the DVDs for a blast from the past! But we were able to use the barbecue and enjoy the stars in the garden, listen to the sounds of nature and... we even saw wild boars! The road to access it is a bit difficult, but you don't have to be discouraged because once you get there it's worth it!! Chicken eggs included! I hope to go back soon <3

The place was just as described, and more. (Beautiful view on the surrounding hills) The swimming pool was very clean and a nice refreshment from the heat. The host’s pets are undeniably a huge plus - they were cuddly and very friendly and made us miss our pets at home a little bit less.

Alessandra made us feel at home. She even helped celebrate my birthday with a nice package of chocolates. Alessandra sent us several restaurants and even a map of a bike race going through town.
