Family-friendly vacation rentals in Netherlands

Fred and Kelly’s place is absolutely wonderful. We stayed because the price was better and there was a little more room than many places directly in the city. Though we looked forward to it, we didn’t expect to fall in love with it…and we did! Staying outside of the city is pretty great. It’s a 10ish minute walk to the train station, and then an easy navigation to wherever you need to go. We didn’t mind the “commute” a bit, and it was nice to start off and wind down in a quieter setting. The place itself is well kept, clean, and cozy. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with good pressure. We enjoyed casting Netflix on the TV with the fireplace on in the evenings, and we spent a couple of mornings in the garden. We booked this spot our entire stay, but also spent one night in Amsterdam to experience “city life,” and also spent one night in Utrecht. These were perfect additions to our home base plan. I’d definitely stay here again!

What a lovely place in an oasis of peace. We were with 4 friends in the beautiful stay of Aljanneke. An oasis of peace and nature and a beautiful house with all modern amenities and comfort. Aljanneke is a super host! Nice communication and full of good tips, someone who fully understands hospitality. We would definitely come back!

Fabulous stay at Cottage Paulus What a great experience! The forest cottage "Paulus" is tastefully decorated and is located in a beautiful, quiet place in the middle of nature. Exactly what we needed to completely recharge. We were there with our two dogs, and they too had the time of their lives. The spacious, fully fenced garden was perfect – safe and large enough for endless snooping and scrambling around. Fareen, the hostess, is incredibly friendly and helpful. From the first contact, everything felt familiar and relaxed. She was quick to respond to questions and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended for anyone who loves peace, nature and an animal-friendly place with character. We will definitely come back!

The place is quite compact, but it has everything you need. Is well suited for a short trip and for relaxation.

The place was just fantastic. Quiet location close to Amsterdam. Top amenities. Sauna and hot tub included. Also a giant grill that worked great. Suitable for a relaxing weekend with family and friends. And a trip to Amsterdam is also in. The hosts were very friendly and always quick to respond and also flexible with arrival and departure times. There was everything you needed. Highly recommend.

Remote enough to be peaceful. Close enough to access everything we needed. Plenty of room, careful attention to detail, a lot of unexpected bonuses like food, wine, spa elements, etc. Very comfortable and easy. Ina was very gracious and we had no issues.

We had a great time during our girlfriend weekend. A lovely cottage with nice amenities. Everything was thought of. We also enjoyed the outdoor space very much. Perfect for a weekend with friends or family. Hari is incredibly friendly. We will be happy to come back!

We decided to go for a getaway with Bas. It was beautiful and there was plenty to see. We really enjoyed the time there and Bas's mom welcomed us very warmly and was right there for all questions. There are a lot of animals there and the opportunity to relax. Thanks to the tips from Bas and also from his mom, we attended great activities in the area. All around a perfect vacation with everything that goes with it and super friendly hosts !! Definitely recommended !

I spent a few nice days with my dog at Siennie's place. Check-in and check-out were straightforward, parking is available directly at the house. The place was clean and there was everything you need. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. The highlight was of course the beach within walking distance. Unfortunately, you only find out on site that dogs are not allowed on the sofa or in bed. It would have been nice to get this information before booking. Apart from that, everything else was perfect, and I felt very comfortable at the place.

We loved the yard, garden and apartment. There are so many beautiful details that it would take many days to discover them all. Everything was so creative and cozy, you can tell that there is a lot of work, passion and love in the things. We also liked the animals very much.... We had a very warm welcome and many great tips for excursions - especially because we were also traveling with dogs, it was wonderful that they could also have fun and we could take them everywhere... we had a lovely time and filled them well! Thanks to Patries and Mike and their animals!!

This is our third time staying at Tine’s cottage over the past nearly ten years. It feels like a home away from home. We love Tine and she treats everyone like family. In case you don’t know already, this cottage sits on a quiet street, with its own private parking, entrance, and privacy. It is a very short walk into the backside of Zaanse Schans by the Windmills. You can borrow one of Tine’s many bicycles or simply walk the flat peaceful lanes into the open air park and experience clogs making, cheesemaking, stroopwafels, historic homes and neighborhoods well preserved, shops and gifts, a museum, and the most beautiful intact and functioning windmills you’ll find anywhere in the area - plus much more. It’s only 7-8 minutes to the Zaanse Schans train station and a straight shot in 15 minutes on the train to Centraal Station. Also very easy to get to Keukenhof via train, car, bus, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants close by. Our favorite spot out of all we’ve stayed at in Holland!

Very nice, communicative hostess. The surroundings were very nice to walk the dog. The cottage has everything you need. Beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We had nice conversations with Trienie and she gave us good tips for doing things. We will be happy to return.

We stayed for a couple of days while visiting Amsterdam and Leiden - it was fantastic for the train and a real quiet cosy little place Kitty was a lovely host, she sent the most comprehensive directions I’ve ever gotten to find the place from the station and was super speedy to respond. Thanks for having us 😊

We had a great weekend here. What a beautiful nature reserve within 10 meters walking distance. Lovely walk with our dog. Neatly clean accommodation. We were received very kindly. Definitely a place to go back to

We had a wonderful stay in the former school under the wings of an old mill. Beautiful, green area where it is very quiet. Sanna is a friendly host who responds quickly and helps where she can. This house is very spacious and clean, with an enclosed garden that you share with the neighbors. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Boeren Biezen! The cottage has everything you need to cook, good beds and a nice sitting area. Margareth and Freddy are incredibly hospitable and do everything they can to give you a nice time. We ate paella together, bake pizza and cared for the horses. You don't have to go far for fun trips to Sluis, Groede or Het Zwin. Super!

We enjoyed our stay at Wendela's. We were warmly welcomed. The "Rosenhäuschen" was exactly what we had imagined. It was our home away from home. And we'll be back for sure.

Our second time in this Air BnB and once again it didn't disappoint. Perfect location, equipped with what you need and super easy communication with Annet. We'll be back for sure.

Had a lovely weekend in this spacious home. All amenities are available. Also enjoyed the infrared sauna.

Jet's vacation home was great! We went with 5 girls on a girlfriend weekend and this was exactly a house we were looking for, nice and large, large dining table where the 5 of us painted and had a nice meal. Plus and deep fryer a 3-minute drive which was very nice. The cottage itself was incredibly neat and clean on arrival and we were warmly welcomed. The shower was very top! Very spacious and wonderfully warm in the bathroom. Enough towels and other items are available. And the sleeping loft was fantastic!!! Sleeping together and waking up with a lovely sunrise;) Slept well in nice beds! And the location was completely fine for us. We were in Nijmegen in 20 minutes. And 20 minutes away from a scooter rental where we were able to rent 5 great choppers to drive through Maas and Waal land for an afternoon. In short, very much enjoyed this weekend!

Gerda was very responsive and responsible. Took care that all our requirements were met promptly.

Great weekend at Magdalena's. Good communication before we arrive, perfect arrival and welcome. We met Magdalena later in the evening, a lovely person who does everything to make his visitors have a good time. The accommodation is very comfortable, quiet in an exceptional environment between land and sea. A huge thank you to Magdalena and her husband for their extraordinary hospitality.

A very pleasant stay in the little house of Isabel and Bert. Everything was very comfortable, well appointed house and what a beautiful garden! We even had a visit from birds and squirrels. The kids loved being able to access the pool. Bedankt Isabel en Bert:)
