Cottage vacation rentals in Morningside, Edinburgh

I came to Scotland with the intent of visiting this beautiful cottage and boy am I glad I did. The home was private, quiet, spacious, and homey. We took advantage of the kitchen to cook breakfast and dinners, the fireplace inside for a cozy reading night, and the firepit outside despite some wind. Kirkaldy is a 35 minute walk from the cottage where you can access the Fife coastal path and see the small local town and stunning sea. Another thing I loved about this stay were the linens and bathrobes- so luxe and comfortable! Things to be aware of: Ubers do not access the property but jane provided local taxi numbers for us which we used. There are not many spices in the home so if you do plan on cooking with them, be sure to bring some. Finally, be prepared for sadness when you leave because you will miss this dreamy Airbnb.

Our stay met every expectation and then some. The cottage was well equipped with every attention to detail considered. Our only issue throughout our trip was phone reception. However, this will not stop us from coming back and enjoying more time on the beautiful estate.

We had a lovely few days, staying at Appletree Cottage, with our two grandchildren aged 6 and 3. The cottage was very comfy and well equipped, and ideally suited our needs. Good location for many attractions such as Blair Drummond Safari Park, Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. We were lucky to have good weather so the excellent play area and hot tub were much enjoyed each day. Would definitely recommend booking.

The best we ever visited! During the last 8 years we travel Europe with our dog and had a lot of houses between Italy and Norway, but this is No.1. (OK together with that beautiful place in Norway 😉). Even our too early appearance caused no problems (one day!). The rooms are much better than they look at the photos. We relaxed in a way we didn’t have before. Art and leisure in perfect constellation! You have to get the Marmelade from the shop, it’s great! Whenever we are in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 again, we will return. And for our German fellow countryman:“ Super gemütlich und wirklich stylisch mit Kunst!“ By the way, it’s located in a art park, what we didn’t realized before! Fantastic host, beautiful house with all needs catered for, for all ages. Ample room throughout, comfortable and very well stocked with all the essentials for a great holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pentland Pod. The pod was very clean and well equipped. Hazel and Jim are fabulous hosts. It felt like staying with family friends. They made sure to give us lots of recommendations of things to visit in the area. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back in the future.

Lovely hosts, they were always quick to respond to any questions I had. It was a quiet and cosy place to stay which stayed warm despite us staying in winter. Would recommend to others.

Thank you for a beautiful stay!. Myself and 2 friends were celebrating turning 40. The house was stunning, and beautifully cared for. Everything we needed was at hand and if we had needed anything Emily was just a door knock away which was great to know. This little gem makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere taking some much needed time away.

From initial contact, through arrival, stay and departure, everything was ideal. Libby's warm welcome, the cleanliness, comfort, facilities and general atmosphere were all quiteoutstanding.

We had the perfect time! The place was spotless and very comfortable. A real home away from home. The house has a lovely flow to it, so very comfortable for groups. Very private and peaceful but so close to Longniddry for groceries or the station. Helen and her family were friendly and approachable but left us to our own devices. The horse was lovely. I don't think the photos show that it has a bath - it does! So that was fantastic to discover. We would definitely stay again!

The cottage is lovely and in such a tranquil location. Accessible to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. It was immaculately clean and very cosy. Just what we needed.

We have just stayed at Laura's place and as a family of 4 (2 Adults, a 6 and 9 year old) we all loved it and felt it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need. The location is private and has outstanding views. It was just what we imagined it to be like. It is close enough to Edinburgh City to visit the Zoo, Castle and Museum but far enough out to feel peaceful and remote and enjoy lots of walks. As well as doing some local walks we visited Pentland Hills which was beautiful. We would highly recommend Laura's place and we definitely plan to visit again.

We booked Clare and Ali's cottage at short notice as we needed a dog-friendly place near to Dunfermline as a family member was very ill. The owners were so helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The cottage was very well appointed and very comfortable and there was more than enough space for us and our two dogs. The farm is very private, 1 mile along a track from the nearest road so is very quiet and perfect for anyone who wants to get away from it all. There were lots of different types of birds that visited the garden, and fantastic views of the Ochil Hills and Knock Hill. The dogs really enjoyed being able to run off lead in the private woodland and splash in the burn. We're already looking forward to visiting again.

we really loved our stay , great location we hired a car and visited loads of places. arrived to a lovely welcome card, fresh fruit and bottle of wine, great touch. 26 acres of land to walk around with great views. our son loved it, didn't want to come home. would highly recommend it! .

Wonderful stay at the Garden Cottage. A perfect location for beach, train, shop access. Beautiful garden with peaceful spots to enjoy it. The cottage instantly feels like home. Jane is lovely - helpful and very responsive.

We had a lovely weekend get together with friends in this cottage. We had a baby in the group too which was very well accommodated for with a high chair and cot. The house was cozy with a fire ready to be lit. We went for a nice walk in the Pentlands and had a peaceful stay in the very quiet bothy. We would definitely come again!

Emmie was commutative and helpful to accommodate our changes in arrival and departure times. Found a way to help and the accommodation was clean and ready for us. The accommodation is extremely well situated and has a relaxed feel

Overall a superb stay; cosy, perfectly equipped space that was larger than I expected and so wonderfully homely. Exceptional value, especially given how fantastic the property is, its location (stunning, dark skies too!) and proximity to Edinburgh. Stefan and Samantha were wonderfully responsive and I felt safe, warm and welcome. I could not have found a lovelier spot to enjoy a peaceful NYE.

It was a pleasure staying at Wasim's place. The cottage is lovely and well-furnished. The place is quite and roughly a 20-minute drive to the city. The host was very pleasant and provided us with useful tips. And he also made a very special Easter gift for my son, which was very kind of him! Definitely, a 5-star service. Highly recommended. If I ever return to Scotland, this place is on my list!

This was probably the nicest Airbnb I have ever stayed in. Not only is the space beautiful, the view itself is worth the price. We were provided with anything we would have needed, whether it was for cooking dinner or bathroom amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable and so much space for two people. The location is peaceful and quiet while still being so centrally located. Could not suggest this place more!

Kerry helped us out massively when another Airbnb host cancelled at the last minute. She was very responsive and got her property ready for us super quick. The property is beautiful and we can’t praise Kerry enough

We had an extended stay in Mohsinah's and we didn't want to leave. It's such a beautiful place to be in - the conservatory itself is a wonderful place - with extensive views of green fields and sweeping views of the Pentland hills. We didn't want to eat out because it would be hard to match the views and ambience of the cottage. Mohsinah herself was an excellent host - responding immediately and courteously to an initial query. We've stayed in many different places around the world - however Mohsinah's quiet and peaceful cottage stands out as a very special place. Highly recommended.
