The cottage was gorgeously idyllic and private. The cottage itself was super well appointed and comfortable. The exterior was landscaped beautifully and the views were breathtaking. We got engaged during our visit because my fiancé was moved to propose due to the perfect setting. We will return if we are back in the area.

Myself and 2 friends just had a brilliant weekend at Dawn and Darren’s cottage. They were very friendly and welcoming hosts. The cottage was perfect for what we needed, the decor was lovely and we’ll definitely be back for another stay. Hopefully later this year! Thank you Dawn and Darren.

A tranquil and peaceful stay in this spacious and well equipped cottage. We were well looked after by Jenny and co. and felt totally relaxed. Enjoyed our interactions with farm life, which included birthing a lamb, petting the donkies and seeing the newborn kittens, it made our stay very special. The house is well located for trips into Edinburgh and Glasgow, or to enjoy nearby countryside. You won't regret it!

We had a lovely few days, staying at Appletree Cottage, with our two grandchildren aged 6 and 3. The cottage was very comfy and well equipped, and ideally suited our needs. Good location for many attractions such as Blair Drummond Safari Park, Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies. We were lucky to have good weather so the excellent play area and hot tub were much enjoyed each day. Would definitely recommend booking.

The best we ever visited! During the last 8 years we travel Europe with our dog and had a lot of houses between Italy and Norway, but this is No.1. (OK together with that beautiful place in Norway 😉). Even our too early appearance caused no problems (one day!). The rooms are much better than they look at the photos. We relaxed in a way we didn’t have before. Art and leisure in perfect constellation! You have to get the Marmelade from the shop, it’s great! Whenever we are in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 again, we will return. And for our German fellow countryman:“ Super gemütlich und wirklich stylisch mit Kunst!“ By the way, it’s located in a art park, what we didn’t realized before! We had a wonderful stay for our mini moon!! Our hosts where friendly and helpful we invited them for a drink with us it was fantastic knowing how they designed the place and their lives and points of interest for us to look out for. We enjoyed the hot tub so much and using the BBQ!! Was tidy and comfortable perfect for a couples get away. I highly recommend staying here the bus stop was just a minute walk from the front door and so close to Edinburgh!!

Lovely hosts, they were always quick to respond to any questions I had. It was a quiet and cosy place to stay which stayed warm despite us staying in winter. Would recommend to others.

What a stunning, peaceful accommodation. We had an incredible time at Hardgatehead. The views were wonderful, everything was spotless, and it really felt like somewhere we could relax after a very busy wedding weekend. We are planning on returning for our next trip to Edinburgh and the area as we were blown away by the accommodation. Thank you so much!

A haven in the Scottish countryside, this cottage was completely charming. Loved that the resident sheep come and go from their pasture at their pleasure. Very friendly hosts provided everything required. Fairly convenient to Dunfermline for groceries and trains into Edinburgh. Thank you!

We had a great stay! The location was absolutely perfect for our stay with our 2 year old since we were close to an incredible playground! We appreciated being able to use a travel crib and that the upstairs was nice and dark for our toddler’s early bedtime!

Cute place, small but perfect for a few days away. Everything has been cleverly thought of to fit a tiny space. It’s a great location too but you do need to book if you want to eat at the pub as it is very busy!

We had a fantastic stay in Jasmine Cottage, we felt at home from the minute we arrived. The space was clean, bright and homely. We cooked every night for our family and found the kitchen had everything we needed. We were happy to spend the evening “at home” after visiting the towns & villages surrounding us. (My two son’s survival depends of WiFi and pizza, the WiFi was easy to connect to, a pizza wheel would’ve been ideal but that’s neither here nor there). The beds were clean and so comfortable, we slept very well. The area is peaceful. The garden was beautiful, I believe the gardener was due on the day we arrived but didn’t make it. This didn’t affect our stay as the grass wasn’t too long that the kids couldn’t play, but I hope it’s done for the next guests as it’s just perfect to sit in. Kirsten has thought of everything to ensure Jasmine Cottage is a home from home. We didn’t want to leave! Even the little touches such as the old fashioned Bluetooth speaker made it 10/10!

Gaele is an excellent host. lovely property in the country. Gaele was very supportive during our stay by looking after Ziggy (the cockapoo) while we attended my brothers funeral, many thanks for that. look forward to returning under better circumstances to enjoy the area.

Fantastic stay at the Coach House - thanks Kirsty! Set in a beautiful and peaceful location but very accessible to get into Edinburgh city centre and to explore other areas within East Lothian! Local highlight was Humbie Woods - ancient woodland on the other side of the village. During our 3 night stay with two children we visited Dalkeith Country park (for the adventure fort and Go Ape), Vogrie Country park, North Berwick, and Longniddry. Plenty to see and do!

We had a lovely stay at Anne & Craig's cottage, everything was as described. Communication was clear and easy instructions were provided. There is no parking at the property but you can unload right outside and the car park is a stones throw away. The property has everything you could possibly need to be comfortable and to feel at home. There was a welcome hamper with yummy treats and milk in the fridge which was a life saver after a 4 hour drive! The village itself is like stepping back in time, very quaint and lots of history. There is a park a few steps away which the kids and adults alike enjoyed very much. There is a lovely café across the road which we highly recommend for tea / coffee and cake. It was the perfect base for travelling into Edinburgh, of which we did every day. I would highly recommend Anne & Craig's cottage and we would definitely stay again! Thank you Anne & Craig.

Absolutely loved our stay at Elaine’s place in Markinch! It was clean, tidy, quaint, and so peaceful—just what we needed. The house is fully stocked and perfect for traveling with a young family, with thoughtful touches like a clean crib and baby chair. Elaine was a lovely, communicative host and kindly set up the BBQ for us, which made our evening extra special. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Lovely comfy cottage in a peaceful countryside location. Had everything we needed and looked just like the pictures. Beds were super comfy and the fenced in garden was great for our dog. Only about 10 minutes away from West Calder which is really convenient for getting the train in to Edinburgh. Would definitely book again.

What a beautiful spot! Very quiet. We all slept very well! Wish we could have stayed longer to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. It is a little remote so if you don’t have a car (which we didn’t) may end up being a little expensive going in and out of Edinburgh, but we always got an Uber when we wanted one. Perfect for walkers and cyclists. Wish we had time to explore the area more. We may be back! Thanks, Kerry!

That was probably the best stay we've ever had or ever will. The place is beautiful and the cottage was lovely and comfortable. It is in a calm place, but if you have a car everything you need is at a 5 minutes distance. Last but definitely not least, the host is exceptional. She was forthcoming, considerate and welcoming, but never intrusive. She gave us lots of helpful tips and recommandations. Most of all, she added a special touch to everything. She even got us a cake for my girlfriend's birthday. Truly a blessed soul. We were almost sad to leave and would stay there again if we come back in Scotland.

I would definitely stay here again. The description and listing is accurate. We loved the town,the location and the beautiful garden setting by the beach. The only thing that was a challenge was getting to a decent grocery store. We did try delivery but it took 2 days. We booked this place for 20 days so we really got to know this wonderful town. Jane was great.

The cottage is very well appointed with comfortable and stylish furniture in spacious surroundings. We enjoyed the fresh breakfast basket delivered to the door every morning. A wonderful place for spending time in historical Culross.
