Vacation rentals in Los Padres National Forest

We had a lovely weekend while in town for a wedding. Home is even nicer than the photos imply, and the two decks are very nice (one sunny and one shaded). Beverly is easy to chat with, and protective of the home which I understand. :) Kitchen and dining areas are large. We were building a charcuterie platter for the bride and there was plenty of space for 4 people to work together while making it. One note: cell service at the top of the hill (and much of Malibu, truthfully) is very poor. Once you’re inside on WiFi it’s fine, but take a screen shot of the host’s instructions (gate codes and such) so you’ll have them available when you park. Overall an enjoyable home with a lovely view.

We had a fantastic stay—our kids absolutely loved it and begged to stay longer every single day. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach, with gorgeous morning strolls and stunning evening sunsets. We especially appreciated that it was dog-friendly—the built-in dog door in the bedroom was such a thoughtful detail, letting our pup come and go without waking us. After full days of kayaking around the Channel Islands, relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind. The kitchen was fully stocked for home-cooked meals, and the welcome snacks were a lovely touch. We also loved not having to pack beach gear—the hosts had everything covered: toys, canopy, towels, you name it. Everything was spotless and well maintained, and the host’s kindness in offering us a late checkout made our departure so much smoother. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

Amazing location. Loved being able to walk to the beach, restaurants and smart n final for light grocery shopping. Friendly and communicative hosts. :)

Our family of 4 loved our stay at Toby’s lovely apartment. Check in/out instructions were clear & simple. The location is ideal. We parked our car in the designated parking place and didn’t need to drive the entire time we were in Carp. The house itself was perfectly cleaned and well appointed with everything we needed for a great beach stay. The apartment is actually BIGGER than we expected from the photos! Definitely recommend and we will stay again. Tremendous value for the area!

My wife and I spent a weekend at Eileen’s and all I can say is, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had on AirBnB. Eileen was super helpful and responsive, sent clear instructions, the place was exactly what we were hoping it would be, and Carpinteria is a beautiful town, wonderful people. We cannot recommend Eileen’s place strongly enough!

Lovely home in a great location. Very clean and comfortable, perfect for a small family or two couples. Rachel the host was very responsive and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed, was a lovely trip.

We had a wonderful time at the Cozy Beach House! The area feels like a tiny beach town, just a few small shops and cafés. But, a 10-minute drive from major shops, restaurants, farmers market, and delightful marina village. We stayed with dogs, who enjoyed the fully-fenced (and paved) backyard, and lounging in the sun. We enjoyed the well-appointed, comfortable amenities, and the uncrowded beach a block away. The place is quirky, which makes it more charming, and very clean with modern appliances. (Some have called out the fire pit — it’s fussy but works with a little patience.) We plan to stay here again!

Our family booked this house for Thanksgiving week. It is in a quiet neighborhood with amazing views. The house was very clean and uncluttered. We had an amazing time together cooking, playing games and walking around the neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!!

The pictures of the apartment correspond to reality. Taber is very accommodating and there was simply nothing missing. I can recommend without any problems. Taber is a great host!!
