We had a lovely stay at Laura’s Shepherd’s hut. The views were amazing. The hut is pretty well equipped and the addition of the wood fire pizza oven was good fun but could do with a rolling pin to make rolling the pizzas a bit easier. The hut was very clean and Laura was a responsive host. Would recommend for anyone who wants beautiful views and nice walks in the Peak District.

Great property. Very clean, comfortable and in a perfect location - close to the local pub, walks, restaurants and neighbouring towns like Bakewell and Matlock. Was made to feel very welcome by Julie and the chocolate brownies were great! Will definitely return.

You can tell straight away when someone has poured their heart into a place. This wasn’t some cold, agency maintained rental - it actually felt like a home away from home, the kind you instantly relax into. Every little detail had been thought of. Rain ponchos by the door, OS Maps for walkers, even a towel for drying off the dog after wet walks. There were treats too, which was such a lovely touch. Small things, but they make all the difference. The location’s spot too. Few minutes to the bus stop and pubs and a Co-op just down the road. Everything you could need, really. The place itself is beautifully maintained and decorated. Honestly, it had everything you’d expect from a luxury rental but without feeling sterile or overdone. It still had that real, personal charm. Clare, the host was brilliant. Super responsive and you could tell she genuinely wanted you to have a great stay, not just tick a box.
