What a wonderful weekend spent at Ane & Carlos’ beautifully furnished and well equipped apartment in the best location for the Franschoek Literary festival. We absolutely loved our stay. The bed was so comfortable and we loved the verandah area for early evening sundowners. There were restaurants in very close proximity and the apartment was spotless. Although we couldn’t get the TV to work, Ane did her best to try and get the problem resolved and was always so helpful and responsive. We highly recommend this very special apartment and will definately book it for our next stay in Franschoek.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cottage! We visited with friends, and the setup was perfect—two bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, made everything so easy and comfortable. What truly stood out were the thoughtful touches: a little olive branch with chocolate on the bedside table and fresh, beautiful flowers in the bathroom—those small details made us feel really special. The combustion stove was a highlight too, keeping us cozy on the chilly evenings, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. Overall, it was an amazing experience. We truly appreciated the care and attention put into making the place feel welcoming and memorable. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment over the Literary Festival weekend . Everything about it was great . It was so special to arrive & find tasty treats , tea ,coffee and milk in the fridge . It was perfectly located for beautiful walks in the morning and strolls to various restaurants in the evening. Die Unterkunft war sauber und sie lag zentral. Die Kommunikation mit Lariez war unkompliziert und freundlich. Sehr empfehlenswert. Lariez gab uns viele Tipps was man in der Gegend erleben kann. Vielen Dank. Wir können Lariez sehr empfehlen als Gastgeber.

Great place to stay right in Franschhoek. Near everything and quiet at the same time. The flat is lovely, fully equipped and very comfortable. Liz on site and George were great! Wish I could've stayed longer.

We had a fantastic experience at Patmos Stay and highly recommend their short-term rental. The cozy and charming setup is perfect for both winter and summer. Special touches in the suite made our stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely return to Robertson and stay at Patmos for a longer period next time!

Lovely apartment and great value for money!

What a great, clean, well equipped and comfortable place. Attention to detail great. What a selection of coffees and teas. Even rusks and fresh milk in the fridge! Highly recommended.

Loved our visit here. The apartment is modern and beautifully decorated. Very comfy bed and lots of hot water. The view is stunning and it is just a short walk from shops and restaurants. Will definitely stay here next time.

Absolutely perfect location! Close to restaurants and event location. Elmarie’s service was outstanding throughout my stay. House is great - but a new shower head in main bathroom and some shower gels would give this spot a 10/10.

Really awesome overnight accommodation! We loved the spacious layout of the room, the comfortable bed and all the thoughtful attention to details which enhanced our stay. Thank you for the bowl of fresh fruit, milk, rusks & delicious Jerepigo! Relaxing in the cut out bath chairs around the fire pit area that evening gazing at the stars and enjoying the view over the orchards with the mountains all around and then watching the glorious sunrise in the morning, makes this short stay memorable! Thank you Jacqueline for being an absolutely gracious super host.

We had a great stay in Ceres at Ezanne's place. It is well worth the money. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable! We did a couple of great hikes in the area and went cherry picking at Klondyke. Ezanne's was located close to both activities.

We really had a relaxing and comfortable stay on the farm. We experienced all sorts of weather from really hot days to stormy chilly nights but through it all we were comfortable at the cottage. We walked the farm roads flat, inspected interesting fynbos, and really just soaked in the views. Sunrises and sunsets were something to write home about, so spectacular. Montague is a short drive away and Barrydale not to far either. Danielle and fam were very welcoming and accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. I definitely recommend this cottage.

Amazing location! A few minutes walk to the wine tram, safe gated parking and Wellington was amazing. Very helpful with our luggage and information at check in. Spacious and well maintained apartment. Perfect!

Danielle was an incredible host. Her place is beautiful and secluded, you really feel like you’re out of the city. The mountain views are breathtaking and there’s so much walking you can do. Danielle was quick to respond and very accommodating even when we had a bit of loadshedding. She’s incredible and I recommend this place. It’s clean, it’s homey. It’s beautiful and the kitchen is stocked with most things you would need.

We stayed for 1 night at Ivan's apartment. You are right in the center and can walk easily everywhere in town. The balcony is looking out to the main street to watch the people. The pool was a nice addition but we weren't able to take advantage of it. What we didn't notice during the booking is that the upstairs bedroom is not closed of from the living area downstairs. Just be aware of that. Would stay here again.

Stunning apartment, perfectly located (not at all far from the centre and far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet). Well equipped, spacious, with stunning views and the hostess was superb.

On arrival, our wonderful fresh sourdough awaited, a welcome touch we both loved. The cottage was spotless and the kitchen extremely well-appointed, AND there was filter coffee and milk – most welcoming!! We ordered Ubers from the cottage without any issue, as we knew parking in town during the festival was a bit of a schlep. We did not get to see the dam or test the hot tub as we were too busy with the festival. The WiFi password had changed, and a new one was provided swiftly, and comms with the farm manager were good. The only niggle we had was noise from the house next door around midnight and again at 6 am that woke us up and we couldn't nod off again. One suggestion, especially for summer light, would be to swap the blackout curtain in the living room to the bedroom. The light did not bother us but in summer it might filter through the curtains. We will definitely stay at Royal Gala Cottage again!
