Cottage vacation rentals in Lake of the Woods

Comfortable beds in good-sized rooms, lots of counter space, large yet cosy gathering areas, beautiful fireplace wall and a great view of the lake. Doug quickly responds to any questions and is flexible and reasonable as a host. This was the second time our group of friends stayed here. We hope to come back again!

Alexis was a wonderful host! The cabin was immaculate and our family enjoyed a peaceful weekend getaway. Would quickly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Kenora area!

Was a great place to stay and comfortably fit our group of 4 overnight. Host gave clear directions to cabin. Hot tub clean and inside clean. As a side note heads up: tons of mosquitos after dusk as of July due to still body water and pretty unbearable even with bug spray so plan to stay inside after dusk (even a fire with the fire pit couldn’t keep them away). Closeby to the highway as stated in other reviews but didn’t bother us during any of our activities. Closeby to Falcon with lots of other activities. Would stay here again!

This is a quiet and relaxing place for a getaway! The cabin was very clean with comfortable beds and had everything we needed. It was a short drive to Kenora and a short hike to the Vernon Nature Trails. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed with Joel for a trip where we were working in the area. The cabin was beautiful and extremely clean. Kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed. Bathroom was very clean and was also well stocked. Beds were comfortable and rooms were exactly as described. Joel was a great host and responded promptly to any inquiries. Would definitely stay here again!

We visited the cabin with our 5 and 3 year old and had the best vacation. The beach is so close so our kids could play while we enjoyed coffee or a glass of wine on the deck. The place was spotless, the kitchen was totally outfitted with everything you needed. The hosts were very welcoming. We will definitely be staying again.

We rented this cottage for family overflow for a wedding. Our family was very pleased with how extremely clean the cottage was and it was so quiet and peaceful. It was October, so the cottage had a little chill to it but there are heaters, the floors are cold so take slippers. Jillian was super helpful and even told us to take slippers and to be cognizant of the blankets not hitting the baseboard heaters. The cottage was very clean and tidy and not cluttered at all, everything feels very new and fresh. Would definitely rent it out again for guest overflow!

We enjoyed our time on the island at this great cottage. Our boat ride from the landing took about 40minutes (at ~30km/hr). The secluded location felt very private. We liked the remote wilderness experiences, but we also appreciated the modern conveniences of running water, indoor plumbing and hot showers. The kitchen was very well stocked and we made good use of the grill (BBQ) on the back deck. We enjoyed having our boats parked at the dock right in front of the cabin, coming and going (swimming, fishing and exploring) throughout our time. The dock was in great condition and protected from the wind. For us this remote location was a selling feature, but we realize it may not be for everyone. Our host was friendly and very accommodating. He stayed in a nearby cabin and was very attentive and helpful answering our questions and making sure everything worked for us. When there was a small issue with the water heater, he worked quickly to make repairs as soon as possible.

I was here on a business trip if I have to come back I will definitely be coming back to this place

Cozy place for up to 8 people in a quiet neighborhood. It comes with everything you would possibly need in the kitchen, washroom and backyard, including 3 kayaks and a canoe. The access to take the kayak or canoe into the lake is through a grassy path across the street and then a few steps over rocks. It took us sometime to figure out the path as It is not marked and sits between two private properties. If you have two or more people who are strong and experienced with kayaks, it would not be any concern. Otherwise I would recommend bringing the kayak to a nearby beach with a suv or truck and access the lake from there for your own safety. Everything else worked out great. Courtney was responsive and provided a very detailed instruction upon check in.

Quiet location. Very clean cabin. We rented both sides of the cabin and it is perfect for 2 families.

I had a night’s stay at Brownyn’s beautiful cabin. Her directions were exact and she gave us a tour upon check in. Her place was clean and beautiful. Will be re-visiting!!

Nice stay.We stayed the end of August/beginning of september. Don't forget to pack jackets because it may get a little chilly while fishing early/late hrs of the day. Caught pike, bass and small crayfish( that we released) from the dock using worms, minnows, weiners as bait. My family members were able to swim and kayak/conoe during the day. ( the water is 10 + feet deep) There was occassional boat traffic in the middle part of the lake which sent waves our direction that made me a little nervous) The house felt comfortable and was adequetly furnished and had good storage. Areas to improve: - I forgot to mention this to Joy because we brought out own, but in the shower there was no shampoo but only liquid hand soap. - One of the picture windows and the window in the dining room didn't have curtains so I covered them with sheets - Dishwasher didn't drain fully so we hand washed the dishes after the first load. Overall it was a good stay. Owner was very responsive and helpful

Stayed at Alan’s once again . Everything was perfect and we enjoyed our weekend at his cottage .
