Rachel was an excellent host and made our stay very welcoming. She's an excellent and clear communicator and was very helpful with recommendations and answering my questions in advance of our stay. The pullout sofa was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on and the string lights outside the window are on a timer, so they go off at midnight. If you're picky about your pillows, you might want to bring your own if you plan to sleep on the couch. There's two good ones on the master bed but the extra pillows for sofa bed are pretty basic. Highly recommend Mission Baja Tacos and The Funky Lemon which are both walkable and a few blocks away. And if you want a really great guided hiking tour to the slot canyons near Torrey Pines and/or the sea caves at Sunset Cliffs / Gaia's Gate -@grangernature is also highly recommended. We did two hikes in two days with him and he's great. Was an Airbnb suggestion that was a great add on to our San Diego experience.

This is a very sweet garden cottage. It is beautifully cared for, with lots of amenities (plenty of towels, great kitchen equipment, etc) and lovely outdoor spaces. Truly a gem. Rodney was very responsive and shared lots of useful info. We’d definitely stay again. Terrific find!

The location could not be better, even better for what you get, the ocean out your front door, price was reasonable. This place is what I would consider an “old school” beach house, don’t see those much anymore. Abe was very responsive, gave excellent customer service!

Solid place, the location is amazing and really hard to beat. Finding the place and checking in was super easy, and Steve was really fast, friendly and helpful when communicating with us. The place was what we needed for just a couple of nights. It's definitely cozy, so it works best for about two people. Not an issue, just something to keep in mind when booking. Overall a good experience and would recommend.

This was our third stay as we travel a good amount to San Diego to visit family. Every time this has been a great landing spot for us, this time with our 2 year old grandson who loved the gardens around the home. The view is exceptional, and the hosts very helpful.

We had a great time at the cottage. Parking was easy. The bed and linens were comfortable, shower had great pressure, and the furniture and layout were thoughtfully arranged for the space. Access was a bit tricky with the alley location but the roads and parking lots nearby weren’t busy during check in and it wasn’t too hard to figure it out. There was a slight bit of road noise which wasn’t a problem for us but might bug sensitive ears. We would absolutely start again!

We had such a great stay at the Pepper Berry Beach Cottage. You can really tell that Michael has put a lot of care and thought into the place—it’s cozy, spotless, and stocked with everything you might need for a comfortable and relaxing visit, from extra blankets and towels to all the essential supplies. The decor has a calm, coastal vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there are so many thoughtful little touches throughout the space that make it feel welcoming and homey. The oversized couch was perfect for lounging, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—we slept so well. The location in Ocean Beach is ideal—tucked away in a quiet spot, but still just a short walk or drive to the beach and local cafes. Communication with Michael was easy, and check-in and check-out were super easy. It’s a lovely place to unwind, that I would highly recommend to anyone!
