great location, super quiet. could use more heating in the winter (bathroom & shower cold), but would totally stay again!

The place was amazing this is my second stay here and it’s still as amazing as the first time. The place is in a great location. Close to the station good restaurants and combini stores.

Eri was so beautiful! So helpful and the way she showed us around the home and her attention to detail was phenomenal! I even asked to stay an extra day because kyoto became my favorite place in all of Japan! Coming to Japan i was a bit disappointed with Tokyo, but i am so grateful for Koji and Eris gorgeous home and their recommendations. We rented kimonos and spent the whole day visiting local shrines and temples, all within walking distance. It was such an amazing experience. I will be coming back next year and am going to spend my entire vacation in Kyoto. Hopefully I will be able to stay at Tsubara house again!

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful home. great location... short walk to the metro station and centre of Kyoto. The accommodation had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Very responsive host and would definitely stay again.

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

We came in April — 8 of us. This space was just perfect for our families. We especially loved the quaint neighborhood location. What a secret gem. We are all left wanting to move to Kyoto. Thank you for hosting us!

This spot feels like home away from home. Easy access to public transportation, lots of shopping & restaurant options, plenty to see & do right in the area. The home is tucked away on a side street in a residential area that’s quiet & safe. Only thing to note is the three bedrooms upstairs are connected with one way in / out but each room has a door that closes for some privacy. And both toilets are downstairs.

The location is fantastic — just a stone’s throw from the metro, and only 10 minutes to the city center. We really liked the area because it feels local and authentic, not touristy at all. The house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and full of natural light. Niko is lovely and very thoughtful, which made our stay even better. If I had to mention something, a few things felt a bit worn, and the place wasn’t completely spotless, which we expected. But honestly, it didn’t affect our stay. I still totally recommend it and would definitely come back!

Our family of four recently stayed at Yamano Kyoto Residence for five nights during our first visit to Kyoto, and Yamano and his wife truly made our trip unforgettable. The house is exactly as described—spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities to make us feel at home. Its convenient location near the train station and bus stop made getting around effortless. The host's prompt and attentive responses to our questions were greatly appreciated. Cross the road and you'll find Lake Biwa!It's the best location There are plenty of rooms and beds, so I think it's best for about 3 families There is only one bath, so if you have a large family, I think it would be a good idea to plan a nearby hot spring from the start There are quite a few amenities, seasonings, etc. If you check in advance, they will be kind and accommodating. I had a really pleasant time

The single-family home has a large and cozy space.We arrived late on the day we checked in (more than 10 pm) but didn't expect the host to be waiting for us, and for us to carry our luggage and piercing about the facilities in the house.The house is fully equipped with children's toys and books, a lot of shopping and eating information near the house, the bedroom is comfortable and equipped with charging plugs, the stairs are also equipped with a small night light for the night, and there is a non-slip carpet, and there are towels and hands in the bathroom.There is also a car space for self-driving people.Unexpectedly, there was a welcome letter, which was really sweet.Very good value for money, perfect for the size of a family, will have the opportunity to stay again and also to friends and family who intend to visit Osaka.The host couple also delivered in person when they left!

Such a lovely stay in Kyoto! After the hustle and bustle of Tokyo (and tiny hotel rooms), it was so nice to have a beautiful, quiet, calm space to spread out. A quick walk from the train station and the most perfect backyard is waiting for you with the nicest soaking tub. We ended up doing less than planned so we could enjoy the space more.

Obviously Jinn has a lovely home, but he is also an extremely gracious host. He was available to answer any and all questions and made us feel right at home in his space. The location is a serene and peaceful neighborhood which allowed us to enjoy parts of Kyoto we otherwise would have missed, while still being close to main attractions. I would recommend anyone to stay here, amazing experience.

spectacular place that ended up feeling like home at the the end of the stay. nice calming place for after all day exploring. authentic area where there weren't a lot of tourists. if you take a day off from exploring, there are close by (15 min) bus ride to great restaurants. about 15-18 mins from the 2 close by train stations. Just warning there is a walking bypass over the main road that helps you get your stairs steps in lol.

This is my first time in Japan, and meeting the lovely yumi and harufumi at haruya in these two days was the best experience of this trip. This house and the owner and everyone I met are different, kind, warm and sincere. You can feel it from their smiles. And I was very lucky to join their yoga activities, which allowed me to meet new friends. By the way, there is also the lovely lily. This is awesome! You can feel the attention to detail of Yumi and Farufumi in the house. You can hear the sound of the stream, the sound of the leaves swaying, and the sound of various insects chirping at night. It really slows down time. I will come back with my loved ones if I have the chance!

May's place is conveniently located near Nishiti Market and public transportation. She was incredibly responsive and went out of her way to assist when I got lost. May personally messaged me directions, met me outside, and warmly welcomed me at the front door. An excellent host—I highly recommend staying at her place.

I recently stayed at Saito’s place and had a wonderful experience! The check-in process was smooth and easy, and communication with the host was prompt and helpful throughout my stay. The place was thoughtfully furnished, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect — close to one of the attraction, restaurants, and subway station, yet peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again, Saito, for being such a great host. Easy check in and clear instructions. Located close to a station, delicious food nearby. The bed was huge and the place was clean!

Very satisfied with this homestay experience, Harry's house is so excellent, two floors above and below, the rest and leisure space is separated, equipped with projection and sound, and the lighting design in the house is also very cozy.The house itself is a very traditional Japanese house with a refined little yard, at the same time it is conveniently equipped with a very modern home appliance system. Harry is very nice, he came to the bus station to pick us up, and also recommended very authentic daily materials, and I will come to Kyoto again next time I come to Kyoto!

Mitsuo has made our first time visiting Japan a very memorable one, with local recommendation, very responsive and helpful. Location alone is perfect for us, it is quiet neighbourhood and yet only less than 5 mins walk to AOEN shopping centre where you can find almost everything that you needed, as well as great variety food at food court. Great place to stay at Kyoto. House is large, even with a small private garden! Very clean and quiet. JR train station and 7-Eleven are within walking distance from the house.

Very nice place to stay with 3 beds and adequate futons and rooms for 6 people. The kitchen was well layouted and the laundry machine was a bonus. The soaking tub shower, the regular shower, two toilets amd a urinal with outside sinks. Home away from home.
