A 115-year-old Kyoto townhouse near Nijo Castle, a historic heritage site representing Kyoto, has been reborn as an accommodation facility with a delicate renovation by an architect. While the exterior retains the atmosphere of a historic Kyoto townhouse, the interior is a space that harmonizes Japanese tradition and modernity. When you enter the entrance, you can enjoy the seasonal nature of Kyoto's unique tsubo garden, which is like a cut-out of the scenery in the mountains. The facility is a Kyoto townhouse with elegant taste, decorated with paintings by Japanese painters and decorations by craftsmen. It can accommodate up to 9 people in a spacious 100 ㎡ space. It is spacious enough to relax with family or friends, and is the perfect place to "travel like you live in the ancient city of Kyoto". There is also a kids' space for children to enjoy, so families with children can also have a comfortable stay. Nijo Castle is within walking distance, but access to major tourist attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Arashiyama, Gion, and Kyoto Imperial Palace is also good from the bus stop right next to the facility. Located in the heart of Kyoto, but in a calm and quiet area, you can feel the traditional Kyoto atmosphere with the unique Kyoto townhouses and historical buildings around you. There are also many restaurants and public baths nearby, making it a very attractive area.

The private rental accommodation "Takasegawa Shichijo" is a fully renovated 115-year-old Machiya Townhouse. The Machiya Townhouse, which forms part of the beautiful scenery of Kyoto, has been remodeled into a building with high airtightness and thermal insulation performance while retaining its original structure, so that you can have a comfortable stay even in the humid and hot summers and harshly cold winters that are unique to Kyoto. From the Japanese-style room on the first floor, you can see the tsubo garden, which is designed in the image of a "roji" (*a garden leading to a tea room). In addition, we have provided a sofa in the hallway so that you can relax and enjoy the view of the tsubo garden. In the evening, you can spend a relaxing time while looking at the illuminated tsubo garden. There are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor: a Japanese-style room with 2 single beds and a Western-style room with 2 single beds. If there are 5 or more guests staying, we will lay futons in the Japanese-style room on the first floor and use it as a bedroom, though it is a bit of a hassle. The kitchen is equipped with cooking utensils and dishes for simple cooking.

There are Japanese-style rooms with 8, 6, and 4.5 tatami mats, and a 8 tatami mat cocoon room. There are 3 toilets and 2 bathrooms. Two kitchens with all the cooking utensils for you to enjoy cooking with your family. The Japanese garden is large and has beautiful moss. There is also a shrine to Benzaiten in the garden, which will bless you with financial luck. Kyoto Suiyokawa Minsu is located in one of Kyoto's most traditional and historic districts, Nishi-Yasaka. A traditional Japanese Kyomachi-ya house that is over 100 years old, the garden has maintained its original appearance for over 100 years, and has a shrine and torii gate that are rare in a private garden, dedicated to Benzaiten (God of Wealth). The 250-square-meter exquisite Japanese garden changes with the four seasons of Kyoto's beautiful scenery. There is a kimono workshop in the Suiokawa Minsu with a professional kimono teacher, miya, where you can wear a formal kimono to go out and return it after you come back.

The house was an Ochaya (literally "tea house")before and we renovated it, which is an establishment where patrons are entertained by geisha. We kept the original structure and make it much more modern and comfortable. The river in front of the house is the must-see in Kyoto changing from cherry bloom to maples. The best location near Gojo bridge and Kiyomizuーgojo sta. can make it very convenient to all the famous spots.
